Chapter Text
Vox stood there shocked, was it that easy? There was Alastor, offering to give himself up to him. He almost grabbed Alastor's hand, wanting to agree immediately, wanting to have even just one small gentle touch from him, but he relented. "No." he said, trying to look unshaken by his offer.
Alaster tilted his head and tsked, "No?" Alastor asked with his almost sing-songy voice, asking in a softer manner in hopes to manipulate Vox, to change his mind. Vox sallowed a little, trying not to cave, "I want a formal contract, I want my lawyers on this."
"Lawyers? We don't need that when we have so much history." Alastor put up his hand again banking on that tugging on his heartstrings, Vox smiled as an idea came to him. "You know you're right Al, we don't need lawyers." Alastor moved his hand closer to Vox, Vox quickly slapped it down, "ah-ah-ah, no we need a contract, a more personal one. We should get married."
Alastor laughed, Vox had prepared for that, he maintained his smile, "I don't expect you to be some good little wife, I just want a written document that binds us together. What do you say Al? Do we have a deal?"
Alastor thought for a moment, this wasn't what he had planned, but he needed this deal desperately. He felt trapped, forced to say yes, so he took control, "Do you call that a proposal?" he teased. Vox furrowed his brows, "what do you want? You want me to get on on knee?" Alastor nodded and waited. Vox rolled his eyes and he got on one knee, taking Alastors previously extended hand into his, holding it firmly. "Alastor, will you marry me?" Alastor pretended to think about it, just to piss him off, "Yes."
Vox smiled and got up, "wonderful! We'll sign some papers and throw a party." Alastor furrowed his brows, "just the papers." Vox put his arm around Alastor, "Yea yea we'll work out the details later. Let's go bambi" Alastor stiffened a bit, "no pet names." Vox playfully whined, "aw come on Al, you used to love when I called you that!" Alastor scoffed, "I did not!" Vox tsked, raising his eyebrows saying, in a sickly sweet tone: "Aww our first fight." Alastor rolled his eyes, and the two walked off, both completely unaware of the agony this would cause them.
