Chapter Text
After the war, it took a while before things at UA completely went back to normal. Now, Class 3-A has grown so much, gotten much closer, and are currently enjoying their last year at UA together.
“Hey, you guys pumped for our class’s new year’s party?” Kirishima asked excitedly. Katsuki looked over at him blankly, his usual scowl resting naturally on his face. Every year since the war, class A had hosted a fun new year’s party. This one was particularly special, since it was their last year in high school.
“Yeah dude, but it’s kind of bittersweet. I mean, it’s hard to believe we’re already starting our last year together!” Kaminari answered. “Although, it would be nice to finally get a new year’s kiss!” He added, with that classic dumb look on his face, probably imagining a fake scenario in his head.
“Whoa, are you finally gonna ask Jirou out? That’s so manly dude.” Kirishima had a proud expression on his face as he looked at Kaminari, who was nodding smugly. Kirishima turned his face over to Katsuki, who was listening absent mindedly to their dumb conversation. “What about you Bakubro? You finally gonna ask a certain someone out this year?” Kirishima prodded with a knowing face.
“Hah?!” Katsuki exclaimed, “What the hell are you rambling about shitty hair? I don’t know who the fuck you’re talking about.” Katsuki replied while gritting his teeth at his friend.
“C’mon man, are you seriously gonna act like we don’t know? I mean, you’ve basically been yearning for Midoriya the second the war ended.” Kaminari started, “You should really just ask him out already.”
“You guys are fucking idiots.” Katsuki started, “I’m not ‘yearning’ and i’m not asking Deku out. Why the hell would you even think I like him?!” Katsuki said bluntly. He didn’t lie often, but right now he was nowhere near telling the truth.
Izuku and Katsuki hadn’t told anyone, they wanted to keep it a secret, but the two boys had been dating for almost a year. So technically, Katsuki’s idiot friends weren’t exactly wrong, but he wasn’t about to tell them that.
“Aw boo-hoo Kacchan, don’t you want a new year’s kiss from a cute boyyyy?” Kaminari teased, making kissy noises at Katsuki.
“Gross. Talk to me when you actually say a full sentence to Ears without short circuiting.” Katsuki snapped back at him, trying to hide the slight pink coming into his cheeks.
Although him and Izuku had been together a while, he still felt that butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling when he thought about it. Maybe the fact that his heart was fucked up didn’t really help, but still. For their information, he and Deku had kissed plenty, but he didn’t need his friends getting all up in their business.
“Hey loosen up Bakubro! Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone about your secret crush.” Kirishima’s voice faded to a whisper as he put a finger up to his lips with a smile.
“Tch, whatever.” Katsuki didn’t really have the energy to argue. He and Izuku were already together, why did it matter what those idiots thought? Honestly, he thought it was funny that they had no idea the feeling was already mutual.

In only 48 short hours, the day of the new year’s party was here. It wasn’t anything serious or formal, but the class mutually agreed to put some effort into the aesthetics of it. Because of that, Katsuki found himself in his dorm getting ready, like he was going to some event.
Kirishima was lying on his back on Katsuki’s bed, while the blonde rummaged through his closet trying to find something to wear that wasn’t his usual black tank top and sweats.
“Hey Kats,” Kirishima started softly, “you know you can tell me anything, right?”. This made Katsuki actually turn his head, a little confused. “I know we were just messing with you with all that Midoriya stuff, but-“
“Yeah, whatever shitty hair. I know you idiots are just joking. I couldn’t care less what the hell you say.” Katsuki interrupted, but his voice had no real anger to it. Kirishima wasn’t completely sure what Katsuki meant, but he decided it wasn’t anything to worry about. He figured Katsuki would make it known if something really did bother him.
As Katsuki continued rummaging through his closet, he finally pulled out an acceptable outfit. A simple orange patterned button up, and a pair of dark washed baggy jeans. Not exactly a formal fit, but better than his usual get up. Kirishima was already dressed, so once Katsuki changed his clothes they were ready to head downstairs.
Once the two boys reached the common room, they were immediately greeted loudly by a very excited Mina. “Hey babe! Hey Bakugo!” She exclaimed as she hugged Kirishima and gave him a peck on the cheek. “C’mon you two, we’re just making some snacks!”
Mina dragged Kirishima along by his hand and left Katsuki walking behind them, hands in his pockets and a scowl on his face. As he got to the kitchen, a certain green haired boy caught his eyes. Katsuki’s expression softened, as he went to greet his secret boyfriend.
Izuku was standing around the counter and chatting with Uraraka and Todoroki, as he noticed Katsuki walking up to them. His eyes lit up a little and a big smile painted his face.
“Hey Kacchan!” The boy said excitedly as he shifted away from his friends. Uraraka and Todoroki had naturally moved their conversation along and were helping Minda carry snacks to the sofas.
Noticing that no one was really watching them, Katsuki didn’t hesitate to greet Izuku properly.
“Hey Izuku.” Katsuki’s said with a small smile on his face. Izuku looked around quickly before placing a hand on Katsuki’s waist and giving him a quick kiss on the lips. A little startled, Katsuki glanced towards their friends, then back at Izuku with a bit of a shocked look on his face. “What the hell was that for, nerd? Half the class is 10 fucking feet away from us.” he scolded softly.
Izuku chuckled a little bit when he noticed Katsuki’s face turn slightly red. “Sorry Kacchan, I can’t help it. I miss you.” He said quietly with what Katsuki could only describe as a seductive look on his face. He felt Izukus hand feather against his waist, barely making contact.
Katsuki felt the tingle of Izukus fingers by his side, and immediately smacked the nerds head to the side.
“Owww Kacchan!” Izuku whined while rubbing the side of his head, “What the hell was that for?!”
“For being a goddamn freak where our whole class can see you!” Katsuki replied angrily between gritted teeth. He didn’t really feel like being the talk of the party, or hell even for the rest of the year.
“Well you could have just used your words.” Izuku complained with a pout. He stepped just a few inches closer to Katsuki so his lips were just inches away from his ear. “I like when you’re vocal Kacchan.” He whispered, and Katsuki could practically hear the stupid smirk on his face.
Before Izuku could even step back enough to see his face turn red, Katsuki slapped the same side of his head, a little harder this time.
“OW! Ok, ok i’ll stop.” Izuku frowned before walking away.
Katsuki doesn’t know how he survived almost two years dating that idiot.

As the party went on, Katsuki found himself actually having a decent amount of fun. He didn’t really talk to Izuku much after their first interaction, but the knowing glances they shared were enough to make Katsuki’s heart beat just a little bit faster.
Just 10 more minutes until midnight, Katsuki was sitting on the couch surrounded by his classmates, eagerly waiting for the clock to strike 12.
Somehow, Kaminari had snuck a bottle of champagne for their party, so he was happily going around pouring everyone a glass for the celebration. Technically it wasn’t that illegal, since most of them were already 18, but they still definitely weren’t allowed alcohol. Katsuki didn’t refuse just a small glass though, you only live once right?
Also, he knew he handled alcohol well. Katsuki often drank at important events with his parents, so it wasn’t like he was clueless. One time he had 4 drinks, and didn’t even feel tipsy.
Through all the buzzing conversation and partying, Katsuki hadn’t even noticed that there was only 1 more minute until midnight. Kirishima took the liberty of putting a countdown on the TV, so all the class sat in anticipation for the new year. Although he didn’t want to admit it, Katsuki was sad that it wasn’t already the last year of high school. As much as his friends were annoying, they were still super important to him.
Katsuki’s mind snapped out of those thoughts quickly, as soon as he heard everyone chanting, counting down from 10.
“3…”
“2…”
“1…”
“HAPPY NEW YEAR!!”
The class erupted in happy cheers, everyone excited for the start of a new chapter. Katsuki looked around a noticed all the little things about his classmates, how most of them were sharing a new years kiss, like Mina with Kirishima, and Kaminari with Jirou. Katsuki huffed with a small smile.
Dunce face actually asked her out, huh? Finally, good for him. He thought. As he looked over he saw Tsuyu and Ochako hugging, while Momo was happily creating more balloons and confetti poppers for everyone. The only person Katsuki didn’t see was-
“Kacchan…” Izuku whispered from behind him. Katsuki flinched and turned around so quick he almost heard his neck snap.
“Don’t sneak up on me like that, idiot. What the hell do you want?” He huffed out, feeling his cheeks get hot at Izuku whispering softly in his ear.
“Well…” Izuku started, still whispering, “Everyone’s kinda preoccupied with the party, no one would notice if we sneak upstairs…” His voice trailed off, hoping Katsuki would get the idea.
Katsuki felt his face get even redder, if that was somehow possible. He knew what Izuku meant, and honestly he was getting a little tired of sitting around all these people. He got up and turned towards the stairs, his own lips near Izuku’s ear.
“Come to my room in 5 minutes. Don’t make it look suspicious.” Katsuki whispered back to him. He continued walking, but saw Izuku smile and nod out of the corner of his eye.
Looks like Katsuki would be getting his own new years kiss tonight. Take that Kaminari.

Katsuki was sitting on the bed, back propped up against his pillows.
It’s been five minutes, where the hell is this nerd? He thought impatiently.
Just then, Katsuki heard the doorknob turn, and Izuku snuck in, barely opening the door past 2 feet. After coming inside, he stuck his head out, and looked both ways down the hall before quietly closing the door and turning around to look at Katsuki.
“Geez, nerd. With that much caution you’d think I was selling you drugs or some shit.” Katsuki joked with a smirk, rolling his eyes dramatically. Izuku smiled back before jumping into Katsuki’s bed next to him.
“So…” Izuku began, trying to make conversation. “How’d you like the party Kacchan?” He asked with a toothy grin and a chuckle. Katsuki huffed out a laugh before answering.
“Cut the crap nerd, why’d you really sneak us off into a room alone?” Katsuki teased with a knowing grin. Izuku smiled and rolled over so he was on top of Katsuki, slotted perfectly between his legs like a puzzle.
“Wow Kacchan, god forbid I miss my boyfriend and want to talk to him.” Izuku replied dramatically, like he was hurt that Katsuki would expect anything else out of him.
Katsuki raised an eyebrow at him, his mouth curling into a pretend frown.
“Yeah right, you freak. I know you just want to make out.” Katsuki confronted. He was trying to seem unbothered, but the redness in his cheeks was exposing him.
Izuku snickered at the remark, and let his head droop into the crevice of Katsuki’s neck. “Well you agreed, so I guess i’m not the only one with ulterior motives.” Izuku replied, picking his head up and closing the distance between their faces, so their lips were mere inches apart.
Fuck. Katsuki could feel his face get hot, and his mind get fuzzy. How the hell did Izuku always know exactly what to say? Exactly how to make him fold?
Izuku smiled and picked up Katsuki’s hand, slowly placing faint kisses on the base of his palm, his lips traveling up to the tip of his fingers. Katsuki let out a heavy breath, and a strangled sound stuck in his throat.
Izuku knew exactly what he was doing, and he knew how to do it right. Katsuki felt a knee carefully slot between his legs, pushing up slightly and rubbing the sensitive area. Before Katsuki could let out a soft groan, Izuku’s lips crashed into his.
The kiss was wet and sloppy, and Katsuki could feel Izuku prodding into his mouth with his tongue. Katsuki parted his lips slightly, letting him in.
Izuku continued rubbing his knee against Katsuki, while their tongues danced against each other. Katsuki let out small breathy moans against Izuku’s mouth, which only made the boy more persistent.
Slowly, Izuku’s kisses traveled lower, and he started nipping and sucking at Katsuki’s neck.
“Shit, ngh…Izuku,” Katsuki groaned deeply as Izuku kept working at his neck. He didn’t really want to admit it, but Katsuki liked the feeling. Being cared for like this, it didn’t make him feel weak anymore. He felt important. He liked feeling important.
After working at Katsuki’s neck like a damn mosquito, Izuku went back to giving the blonde wet kisses on his lips, whispering short praises every now and then. Katsuki had his hands wrapped around the boys neck, pulling him in closer.
As their lips finally parted, Katsuki opened his eyes to see Izuku staring into his, smiling softly but triumphantly. Katsuki had a small pout on his face, but Izuku could read him like a damn book. He knew Katsuki was happy.
After what felt like ten minutes of looking into each other’s eyes, Izuku finally rolled over onto his back next to Katsuki. They were quiet for a few minutes, until Izuku finally broke the silence.
“Do you think we’ll ever tell our classmates?” He started, “Y’know…about us?” Izuku rolled over onto his side to face Katsuki, and the blonde boy did the same.
“I don’t know…seems like those extras would kill us for keeping it secret for this long. Shitty hair already suspects I have a crush on you.” Katsuki answered. He looked up at Izuku’s face, which was somewhere between shocked and trying to hold in a laugh.
It was more like the latter, since Izuku burst into laughing fit, holding his stomach like he was fighting back tears.
“Hey, what the hell are you laughing about,
you dumbass?!” Katsuki shouted angrily, as the nerds laughter slowly stopped. He looked up at Katsuki wiping small tears that welled up in his eyes.
“Sorry Kacchan, that’s just really funny. You’re so obvious sometimes.” Izuku teased, still chuckling under his breath.
Katsuki’s brows furrowed, and he grit his teeth.
“Hey! I wasn’t the idiot who did all that freaky shit in public. You’re a damn hypocrite!” Katsuki snapped back at him. He wasn’t really angry, just wanted to bicker.
Izuku knew this, so he didn’t bother replying, instead just offering Katsuki a smile and inching closer to him. Izuku pulled Katsuki’s head into his chest, hugging him close.
“Those extras don’t need to be in our business,” Izuku started, slightly mocking Katsuki. He noticed, but didn’t say anything. “We’ll tell them eventually.” Izuku said, smiling.
“Yeah.” replied Katsuki his lips curling into a small smile as he hugs Izuku back, “They’ll figure it out eventually.”
