Summary
After a violent ambush in deep space, Astra, a stubborn and sharp-witted human scavenger, wakes up chained inside a prison ship bound for a world no human has ever survived: Yautja Prime. She is not alone-dozens of humans, all captured during coordinated raids, are being transported to serve as slaves for one of the most feared clans in the planet's burning wastelands.
The ship descends into the red-skied inferno of Yautja Prime, delivering its human captives to Njohrr's Clan, a ruthless lineage of hunters known for breaking warriors, not keeping pets. Njohrr, the clan leader, rules with iron ritual and brutal precision, and he expects the new humans to be nothing more than tools-or entertainment.
But Astra is different.
Defiant, clever, and impossible to tame, she quickly becomes a disruption within the clan's strict hierarchy. Her refusal to be broken draws the attention of Njohrr's elite hunters and eventually Njohrr himself. On a planet where strength is the only language that matters, Astra must navigate the violent culture of the Yautja, survive the vicious rivalries within the clan, and maybe, just maybe, get herself a place in the clan.
