Work Text:

She was so excited because today was their first date since getting engaged. Everything had to be perfect. As she bustled around, she heard as she opened the door, she had a full view of a bouquet of lilies ‘Oh, Wyatt ‘she exclaimed. Lilly’s had been her favorite the moment she learned her mother was named after them.

He couldn't help but smile at her as she excitedly took the flowers into her hands. He most likely looked pretty dumb -his other friends said he did- but he couldn't care less. She was so beautiful that nothing in this world could ever describe her, much less live up to her beauty. He was pulled out of his thoughts as she invited him inside while she went to look for a vase. ‘Right, yes, ’ he said as he went in. She had run off to find a vase before heading off to whatever place she had chosen for this special occasion. “So where have you chosen to go this time?” he asked, his past lingering nervousness now gone. “Oh, just this small meadow near the Winston's house, you know their daughter, oh, what's her name - oh yes, Maysilee - she loves to run around rampant. She told her mother about a small meadow, and during our weekly tea sessions, Mrs. Winston mentioned it, so I thought it was a good day to have a picnic. Don't you think so?” she asked, finishing her little ramble.

She couldn't help herself; she just had to show someone this wonderful place.” So, where have you chosen to go this time?” he asked. Don't you think so?” She said, finally calming down a bit from her ramble. “Why yes, it does look like a fine morning to go on a picnic,” he replied, looking at the clear blue sky. Well, I do have a knack for knowing a good day when I see one - At least that's what all my friends say”. “Well, I have to say your friends are right, not a single dark cloud in the sky. At least not when I see one, perhaps today we will have a great time.” Once they arrived at their location, he helped her down from the carriage, grabbing the basket filled with food mindful of the delicate bottle of wine also inside.

He couldn't help but admire the beauty of the meadow; it seemed like it came straight from a painting. With its giant - definitely not small- array of flowers scattered about it. Once they had set everything up under a tree for shade. Everything was peaceful, from their quiet chatter to the cool breeze. He doesn't think this is something he could ever give up.
