“Guys we are going to be late, get your ass out the door before I drag you both!!” Today was the very last day of Shadow’s World tour and Gihun was not going to miss it. The last show, afterward nothing, silence until a new album releases. Gihun had been to their shows many times but he would take every chance he got to see the band every time.
“ Gez I heard you the first time, we're going” Sang-woo had dealt with his attitude so many times, it wasn’t a fuss anymore.
“ You know why he wants to be their early, to see his boyfriend~”
“Shut up Jung-bae and start the car!”
The last show Gihun would see Inho for once more. Hwang Inho, his favorite band member of Shadow and also his celebrity crush. No one was more dashing and beautiful than Hwang Inho. If this was going to be the last time he saw him in person, Gihun would take it. Gihun was there when Shadow’s first album debut, when the group started to pop off, when Gihun saw Inho for the first time. He remembers the first time when he heard about the band Shadow. Just a college student trying to get around, not knowing his life would go. Gihun was lying around his dorm, looking for music to listen to and stumbled upon a group called project squid. The band at the time only had five songs to listen to but Gihun decided to give the band a try.
From that day forward he followed every step the band took, the band started to pop off with their hit single “Fly me to the moon”. The song was everywhere, radio stations, shops, and in everyone’s conversations. Soon the band went big, changing their name to Shadow since the previous name was only a place holder, the members of the band created music as a side hobby and now are the biggest rockstars Seoul has ever seen.
“Remind me again why are we going? Can't you go yourself?”
“A- don't you guys like Shadow too” Turning to face Sang-woo in the back seat.
“ I never said I don't like Shadow, I'm just not a big fan like you, you practically worship them especially Hwang Inho.”
“ Shut your mouth Sang-woo at least Gihun is paying for the tickets, I'm not complaining.”
Laugher filled the car, apart from the jokes and teasing, Gihun just wanted to be with his friends. Jung-bae had worked at a bar not far from where he lived, Sang-woo at a business company, and Gihun owned a music store from old to the latest hits. Each had their own life to live but Gihun did not want to live alone. Back home Gihun had no one, except for his mom but she lives far away, she calls and checks up on her son every day when she can. Whenever Gihun had to head back home after a hang out or work, reality hit him hard, he was alone. But Gihun was in his mid 30s, he could find someone to fill the hole in his life; Gihun sucked in the love department, some would leave him or ghost him. Gihun hasn't had a proper relationship since forever but he doesn’t want to think about that. Right now he is with his friend going to a concert to see his favorite band.
“Alright ready to see your boyfriend Gihun?” He really needed to get back to Jung-bae some day.
“ Shut up and hurry up, let's go to the concert" The three of them got out of the car and started to walk into the building. The building's sides were covered in signs of the logo Shadow along with pictures of each group member, No-eul bassist, Gi-min the drummer, salesman lead singer, and Inho lead guitar.The aura when entering the building was filled with excitement from the fans. Merchandise station up and ready. People buying and hoping to find tickets around show time. The hall was filled with thousands of people waiting to be let in. Many were wearing merchandise from the band, covered in many colors from head to toe, wearing boots, jackets, and had many accessories. Gihun had bought a blood red jacket on top of a black t-shirt and black pants with a see through belt and silver necklace. Hair just light falling over his left eye but not enough to cover his eye fully. All three of them were at security when an announcement came on.
“ Excuse the wait, the members of Shadow are all excited to meet you all. In a few minutes the doors will open and you'll be able to find your seat, those with pit tickets, please refrain from running. We do not want any injured fans before the show starts. Thank you for waiting again. I will repeat the announcement in a moment..”
Jung-bae pushed Gihun’s shoulder and chuckled “ Damn they know we fans are crazy about Shadow, I think they were talking to you especially.” Gihun gave him the side eye that said shut up before I kill you. At that moment the front doors opened, everyone did the opposite and started running for their lives. Thousands of people are trying to fight for the best view in the venue, right in front of the stage, where the band members can see you clearly, where they can notice and say hi. Gihun would fight for his life against others to get Inho attention or any band member for that matter. So when those doors opened, he booked it, knowing both Sang-woo and Jung-bae were doing the same, he didn’t stop until he found a good spot. Even if he had been to many concerts, he was always surprised how big the area was. Gihun spotted an empty area near the left end of the stage and ran as fast as he could, he would be fine if he was behind someone but not far enough where he was out of reach to the band members. By a miracle no one was reaching to the left side, mainly the front because the salesman was mostly in the middle of the stage and not to mention had half of the fans head over heels over him. While he still did not understand why most fans fawn over him and not Inho but Gihun was not complaining, the less people like Inho, the more Gihun can keep him to himself. At some point Gihun spotted both running towards him, behind them were countless fans finding this spot empty and ready to fill. Gihun had to prepare for the sweat and cheap perfume of others.
“GIHUN, we were looking for you” Jung-bae was still catching his breath “... wow damn your fast I didn’t know you still had it in you.” Gihun gave him a cheeky smile “ you just can’t keep up with me slow poke.” Sang-woo was just observing the venue, checking out the people and how big the venue was.
“If I may have your attention, the show will start momentarily. Please be patient and enjoy your show, and thank you for coming to see Shadow.”
Gihun could not believe he was here, he was beaning with joy, trying to hide a smile with little to no success. In a few moments he would see Shadow and most important Inho, his dream crush.
