Summary

Once, when their partnership was still young, Yixing sat down and wrote a list of pros and cons of having Kris as his editor. He's since destroyed the list, more for the sake of Kris' ego than any other reason, but he has it memorized and constantly updated in his head. On the list of pros, in approximate order of importance: his ability to wrangle extensions from their publisher like water from stone, his almost-smothering attention to detail, his willingness to go to bat for even the most half-formed of Yixing's writing whims, his smile, and his collarbones when wearing a v-neck.
On the cons: his almost-smothering attention to detail, especially when it came to Yixing's writing; his inability to let anything go, always acting like a dog worrying its favorite bone; and, underlined twice, his tendency to appear uninvited and unasked for in Yixing's private space.

i don’t go here anymore, but this is more for archiving anyway!
this fic was one of the first fics i read in exo fandom, and i knew instantly it would be incredibly transformative for me because it was writing within a personal cultural experience that i could’ve had, in a fandom space that i could culturally connect to, not to say anything about the story itself! but, even the love story has stuck around with me all these years, and it’s a testament to the author’s writing and love for the characters at the time that it still holds up all these years later.
literally none of these people are even in the band anymore, but i read it again, and it brings me back to the feelings i had a decade-plus ago. chef’s kiss!!!!
