Work Text:

Their practice had just ended, and Rumi was absolutely exhausted, and she was so looking forward to the home-cooked meal that Jinu had been making for her.

She and the girls had never learned to cook, always relying on instant ramen and takeout, so obviously, she was very excited about it, skipping happily.

“Well, look who’s all happy and energetic,” Mura teases, staring pointedly at her.

“Ohh, she just had to get the one who can cook really well,” Zoey sighs. “I wish Mystery could cook, but he always spurs disasters in the kitchen as I do.”

“His food is just so good, and he’s just so good,” Rumi gushes. “He always spoon-feeds me and treats me like a princess.”

“Okay, okay, we get it,” Zoey groans. “Your boyfriend is perfect.” She glances at Rumi’s happy expression and feels only happiness for her sister. She’s never seen her this happy until Jinu.

As soon as they reached his apartment, Rumi immediately squealed, jumping out of the car and hurriedly waving bye to her bandmates. They sighed mockingly at her, but only felt happy that their sister found someone good for her.

Rumi immediately ran to the door, knocking on it. She heard shuffling before the door opened, revealing Jinu with flour dusted in his hair, looking just as attractive to her. She couldn’t help but stare at his beautiful face for a minute.

“Hi,” Jinu says, smiling down at her.

Rumi broke out of her stupor, looking up at him.

“Hi,” she said back shyly.

Jinu smiled at her cuteness.

“Do you want to come in?” Jinu asks her.

“Yeah,” she said, coming in. Her stomach immediately growled at the smell of food. Jinu smiled and then immediately started laughing at her.

“Are you hungry?” Jinu asks her, coming closer to her face.

She blushed, ducking her face into his chest. He smiles at her reaction.

“No…” Rumi trails off, not quite meeting his eyes.

“Really?” Jinu asks into her ear.

She shivers at the feeling of his hot breath next to her ear. She lets out a gulp.

“Then why don’t you look at me and say it?” Jinu says while coaxing her out of his chest.

“Fine, I am hungry,” Rumi groans out, flustered.

He laughs at her embarrassed face, kissing her forehead.

“Good girl,” he whispered into her ear, making her tremble all over. Rumi slaps his chest, making him laugh harder. She sat down, trying to pull her shoes off, but the zipper was stuck, making her frustrated. She tried to keep pulling on it, but ended up sprawled on the floor, frustrated. Seeing her frustration, Jinu knelt next to her foot.

She got up quickly, asking, “What are you doing?”

He pulled off her shoes and socks, then picked her up off the floor and kissed her on the lips. Just when she started to lose her breath, he pulled back. She blinked at him stupidly.

“Go wash your hands, baby,” he says. “I’ll make you a plate.”

“Ughh, you can't just do that,” she whined, but still she walked into the bathroom, washing her hands.

She saw one of his hoodies hanging in the corner and smiled slyly. She took the hoodie off its place and pulled it over her shirt. She looked in the mirror, admiring how big his hoodie looked on her smaller figure. She walked out acting innocent and wrapped her arms around Jinu’s back. He smiled, turning around to look at her.

“Is that my hoodie?” he asks her while holding her cheeks with his hands.

“No,” Rumi said back innocently.

“Are you sure? I swear I saw it in my bathroom earlier,” he muses.

“Maybe, at one point, it was your hoodie, but that’s in the past now. It’s mine,” she says, wrapping her arms around her waist, drowning in his hoodie.

“Keep it,” Jinu said while brushing her hair off her face. “It looks better on you anyway.”

She blushed, moving to sit in the seat next to the window, and he took the seat next to her. He fed her noodles with a chopstick, watching her face light up at the taste.

“Good?” he asked, smiling at her expression. She nods, enjoying the taste of the food in her mouth. She then suddenly realized that he wasn’t eating anything.

“Why aren’t you eating?” she asks, looking up at him in confusion.

“I’ll eat after you eat,” he says.

It then dawns on her that every time she goes to his house, he always makes sure she eats before he eats himself.

“Maybe it’s just a cute quirk,” she thought, but she had heard stories of this being a survival instinct protecting those whom they love before themselves.

Maybe this isn’t some kind of survival instinct. I’ll just ask him to eat; he’ll eat.

“Jinu,” she says hesitantly.

“Yes, princess?”

“Can you eat with me?”

Jinu froze at her request but immediately recovered.

“Don’t worry about me, princess. I’ll eat after you.”

Rumi realized maybe it was a survival instinct. She immediately started fearing for him.

“I’m not eating until you eat,” she decided, turning away from him.

He laughed, thinking she was only teasing him, but she stayed quiet.

“Aegiya. Princess,” he starts calling her. He moved his hand to her shoulder, but she nudged him off. He continued to try and turn her around and saw a flash of tears in her eyes.

His eyes immediately widened, realizing she wasn’t teasing, and he genuinely made her upset.

“Baby, please turn around and talk to me,” he says while trying to comfort her.

“Choo-choo, please tell me what’s wrong. I’ll do whatever you want,” he coaxed.

She turns around, wiping her eyes.

“So you’ll eat with me?” she pleaded.

“Baby, I said I’ll eat after you,” he says. “You said you’re hungry, honey. Please eat.”

She pushed off her chair.

“If you won’t eat, I won’t eat,” she adamantly said, walking to his room and locking the door.

He quickly followed after her, pressing his ear to the door.

“Rumi…” he trails, hearing her softly cry in his room.

“Rumi, honey, please come outside,” he says worriedly.

She cries harder at his concern, blaming herself for not seeing the signs earlier. She pulls the hoodie off, thinking that she didn’t deserve to be his girlfriend. His heart clenches at her cry, especially knowing she doesn’t cry often.

“Rumi, your food will get cold,” he says, trying to convince her to come out of the room.

She wouldn’t stop crying, and that’s when Jinu started to get worried. After her interaction with Celine, they were all on edge that she would try to make another suicide attempt, so the way she was acting was really starting to scare him.

He quickly found a key, unlocking the door to see his girlfriend hitting her legs with her fists in sadness. He immediately ran over to her, taking her fists in his hands and unclenching them. He brought her palm up to his face, kissing the crescent marks left by her nails. She tried to pull back from him, but he brought her into his chest, wrapping her arms around him. He saw the discarded hoodie and looked at her worried.

“Baby, what’s wrong?” he asks, smoothing a hand over her hair. “Why did you take my hoodie off? I thought you loved it.”

“I don’t deserve it,” Rumi mumbled into his chest. “I’m a bad girlfriend.”

“What do you mean?” he asks pointedly, looking for answers.

“You wouldn’t eat with me,” Rumi choked. “You always wait for me to finish.”

“I can tell you’re still in the past. I can’t believe I didn’t see the signs earlier.”

Jinu was surprised that she noticed, but he knew she was smart, so he wasn’t surprised. He kissed her hair.

“Rumi, you don’t have to worry about that,” he states, trying to get her attention off of this. “Please eat, honey. I can’t bear to see you hungry.”

She pushed off his chest and looked at him with a mixture of anger and sadness.

“If you’re not going to eat, I’m not going to eat,” she decides, turning away from him.

Jinu sighs at her stubbornness, knowing that she really wouldn’t listen when she sets her mind to it. He hears her sniffling again and starts to get worried.

“Baby, please don’t cry,” he says while smoothing a hand over her hair.

If that’s what she wants, that’s what she’ll have. He really can’t say no to her.

“Fine, I’ll eat, but you have to eat right after,” Jinu states firmly.

She immediately shot up, hugging him, then rushed out the door. Before Jinu could realize it, she was back with a bowl. She sat on the bed next to him, mixing the bowl, and then brought a chopstick up to his mouth. Jinu couldn’t help but laugh at her antics. She whined, kicking her feet, so he opened his mouth, letting her feed him.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t satisfied and continued to feed him until the whole bowl was finished.

“Was it good?” Rumi quipped playfully.

“Come here, you little demon,” he growled, lifting her onto his shoulder and carrying her back to the kitchen.

“Jinu, put me down,” she giggled, kicking her feet.

He placed her on the couch and fed her the rest of her unfinished bowl. She devoured it in minutes. He sighed at her antics.

“Honey, don’t starve yourself like that,” he states firmly, grabbing her chin.

“If you promise me you won’t starve yourself, too,” she stated back cheekily.

“Oh, really?”

“Yes, really,” she stated back happily.

“Hmm… so I guess you wouldn’t mind if I did this,” he said while attacking her, tickling her sides, making her gasp and giggle.

“Ji-Jinu, sto-op,” she tried to say in between gasps.

After agonizing minutes, he finally pulled his hands back, lying on her chest on top of her. She rubbed his hair lovingly. He pulled back to kiss her on the forehead.

“I don’t want you to ever cry about this kind of thing again, okay,” he told her firmly.

“But—” Rumi tried to say, but he moved his finger over her mouth. She smiled slyly, kissing his finger. He smiled at her and got off her, walking back to his room.

“Where are you going?” she asked him. “Come back.”

“I’ll be right back, baby,” he says back to her.

He picks up the discarded hoodie on the bed, bringing it back to where she was sitting on the couch and handing it back to her.

“I never want you to say you don’t deserve me, okay?” he says while kissing her cheek, then her forehead. “You deserve the world.”

She took the hoodie back in her hands, hugging it close.

“Do you love it more than me?” he asked playfully.

“Maybe,” she teased back.

“Go wear it, honey.”

She squealed, jumping up and running back to her room, leaving a laughing Jinu behind her. This time, she decided to take her sweater and pants off and only wear his hoodie, fully enveloping her body and going past her hands.

She walked back to the couch where Jinu was sitting. He shook his head in disbelief.

“You little demon,” he said playfully, pulling her into his arms.

“No, I’m your demon, and you’re my demon,” she says back at him, knocking her forehead against his.

“Yes, baby, you’re my cute, beautiful demon.”

She flushes from his words, settling into his arms. He put on a random movie while they cuddled on the couch. Jinu pulled a blanket over them, and Rumi couldn’t help but fall asleep from the coziness. He smiled at her sleeping figure, kissing her on the forehead.

He pulled out his phone to text Mira.

Jinu:

Rumi is staying here tonight

Mira

Make sure to use protection :)

He sighed at his girlfriend’s friends. Even with them both saying they were waiting till marriage, her friends couldn’t help but tease them anyway. He carried her to the bed, laying her on it before settling next to her, pulling the covers over them. She immediately wrapped her arms around him. He smiled at her neediness even when she was sleeping. After a few minutes, he fell asleep too,o both curling around each other protectively.

Can you tell I was hungry when I wrote this?
