Work Text:

Hermione, George and Donna decided to have a getaway at Hermione’s parents’ winter cabin. They brought all the things to make cookies and hot chocolate. They got there late Friday night, stocked up the wood pile for the fireplace, had a light meal and went to bed, enjoying each other.

“OH MY GOD!” Donna yelled, waking her lovers up.

“What’s wrong, Donna?” George sat up. His eyes bugged out. “Hermione, love?”

“Yes, darlings?” Hermione rumbled sleepily.

“We are having a blizzard.” George glanced at her.

“Oh, good, since we are in the mountains.” Hermione sighed and rolled back over.

Donna and George glimpsed at each other before rising.

“Let’s make some tea and toast while we wait for Hermione.” George walked into the kitchen and filled the kettle.

“Thank you.” Donna sat down at the rustic table.

“Of course, darling.” He kissed the top of her head. “We promised only to use magic to get here and to leave after the weekend.”

“I know, but it’s easy for you to do that.” She waved her hand. “You know the magic stuff.”

“You are forgetting, my darling Donna, that I was raised like you, a muggle.” Hermione kissed her lips before giving one to George. “We are going to have fun making cookies and hot cocoa and sit in front of the fireplace, curled up in a blanket.”

“That’s true, you did, didn’t you?” Donna looked up at her lovingly.

“Yes, and I prefer to bake the Muggle way.” She smiled at her.

“You do?” She looked surprised. “You mean all those treats we had before were made from scratch?”

“Yes,” She smirked at her. “I don’t like using my wand for cooking, really. Just the dishes.”

They all laughed as the kettle went off.

“Let’s have tea, and we can start baking!” Hermione turned on the stove, then grabbed butter sticks to soften along with Donna’s milk for her tea. “What kind of cookies?”

“Can we bake sugar ones and decorate them?” Donna perked up.

“Well,” Hermione and George smirked at her as he grabbed the bag. “What does this say?” He dumped out sprinkles and colourful sugar.

“Yes!” Donna jumped up and kissed them both. “I love you.”

“We love you, too, darling.” Hermione beamed at her as she worked on getting the ingredients out for later. She finished her tea and took their dishes to the sink to rinse them out and turned them over to the drying rack. Hermione bent down and grabbed a big mixing bowl and two sheet pans. “Let’s get started.”

They went about mixing all the dry ingredients before adding the wet. They carefully placed them onto the cookie sheets before putting them into the ready oven.

“What now?” Donna hopped in place, excited.

“This.” George grabbed her waist and pulled her in for a sweet kiss, causing her to mewl.

“Now my turn,” Hermione purred as she kissed Donna with a bit of tongue before doing the same to George.

They continued to kiss and rub each other's bodies so much that they lost track of time.

“What’s that burning smell?” Donna wrinkled her nose.

“THE COOKIES!” Hermione dashed over to the oven and turned it off before using an oven mitt to pull out the pans. Her shoulders drooped. “I can’t believe I didn’t set the timer.”

“Why didn’t you?” George tilted his head.

“Honestly?” Hermione sighed. “I don’t know. I think I’m more tired than I thought.” She threw the pans into the sink and left the kitchen to their surprise.

“I think we need to cheer her up, Georgy.” Donna looked at him.

“That we do.” He smiled at her. “Let’s make some hot cocoa and bring it to her.”

“Let’s do it!” Donna grabbed the milk, and he grabbed the cocoa and some peppermint sticks.

After they poured the hot chocolate into large mugs, George added some whipped cream and shaved peppermint on top.

“That looks brilliant.” Donna gave him a sweet kiss before grabbing one of them. “Let’s find our love.”

George grinned as he led the way to where he was feeling the extra warmth. “She must have built a fire, darling.”

“Excellent, it does feel cold today.” Donna bopped her head as they found her getting comfortable on the large, cosy couch. “We brought cocoa.”

Hermione perked up when she saw them come in with drinks. “You went all out, George.”

“Yes, I did, and we all deserve it.” George gave Hermione hers. “We love you, love.”

“I love you, too, both of you.” Hermione hummed at the rich chocolatey taste.

Donna sat down next to her. “We don’t blame you for the cookies, love. We could have turned on the timer as well.” She kindly reminded her. “Now, let’s snuggle into this couch and enjoy this beautiful fire that you built.”

“Thank you, Donna.” Hermione kissed her.

“Why are you thanking me?” Donna gave her a puzzled look.

“Because you help us stay grounded when we need it.” She replied lovingly. “Now grab that package over there.”

“What’s this?” Donna dragged a large box, waiting to be opened.

“You’ll see,” Hermione smirked as Donna put her mug down so she could open it.

“George!”

“What?” He looked over at her in anticipation. “What’s in there?”

“Sweaters?” Donna pulled them out. They were forest green and had a large steaming cup on the front in remembrance of how they met. “These are beautiful, Hermione!”

“That’s what you have been working on with Mum, isn’t it?” George beamed at her.

“Yes.” Hermione dipped her head. “Let’s try them on and snuggle with this blanket as well.”

All three of them put on their wool sweaters and snuggled into their couch before wrapping the blanket around their legs in front of the warm fire.

“Thank you, love!” George and Donna kissed Hermione on her cheek.

“You’re welcome.” She smiled as they relaxed and enjoyed themselves for the rest of the weekend.
