Not this again. That was the first thought in Elijah's head as he ripped yet another vampire's heart out. There had been more than 50 confirmed kills and they had only gone to the store.
It started as a normal day, well as normal as it could be since his brother broke the curse their mother placed on him centuries ago.
It had almost slipped from their fingers when Katerina tried to escape by turning herself into a vampire.
Luckily for once his brother's paranoia came in handy, and he was able to stop the doppelgänger from them.
After that the ritual had gone as planned and his brother was able to unlock his wolf side.
His happiness was so apparent that he undaggered Kol, their youngest brother and vent about to remove the threats from their life in the form of their father.
Together the four siblings and their many allies fought Mikael and killed him, it was a dual hit with Rebekah being the one who finally put their father to ashes and their (along with every supernatural being but mostly the vampires') heart at ease.
Still many enemies lingered, but the threats to their life was mostly gone, with the last white oak safe in a safe place nobody will look.
That said there are still foolish vampires and wolves looking to destroy the Original family one way or another.
Elijah was just finishing up when a wolf in wolf form-witch surprised him as it was not a full moon- lunched at him.
Just as he was about to get bitten another even larger canine appeared and bit the other's neck and dragged him away.
Meanwhile the other wolf let out a snarl and tried to attack, but it was no use, the larger wolf then ripped out his throat and killed the other one.
Elijah having not moved from his position as he watched, looked at the remaining wolf and sighed, while trying to hide his fond smile from the animal, but judging from the tail wag, it was in wain.
"Thank you Niklaus. I see you are still having fun trying to recruit the other hybrids." Elijah said in an exasperated tone. His brother after deciding that he had enough were-vamp hybrids and numberous complaints from Rebekah about keeping all of them, Klaus decided to look for were-witch hybrids instead.
Which is what he believed he was looking at right now, probably one of the witches convinced this one it would be better if he was by their side and not with the Original Hybrid.
His brother meanwhile let out a whimper and have him the biggest puppy look he could manage. Making Elijah's heart melt, after all this time his brother was finally the way he was supposed to be. Sure it was still hard, but honestly Klaus in wolf form was more manageable.
Nowadays it was not an unusual sight to come up one one of his siblings petting Niklaus or simply laying together. And it was more often his brother spent the night sleeping in wolf form in his or Rebekah's bed than not.
Or even Kol's thought Elijah fighting a wicked grin at the memory. Kol having gone to sleep in his own room and Klaus walking in as a wolf to sleep with his brother (and packmate) and Kol waking up in the morning to a giant wolf in his face, then promptly screeching like a girl, trying to fling Niklaus off.
Just and Rebekah and himself brush in at hearing the noise, and loosing it laughing at Kol. Who was a pouty mess the entire time.
He reached down and petted the wolf's head. " Come on Niklaus, let's go home. I'm sure our siblings are wondering what's taking us so long."
The wolf made a satisfied noise and started to walk towards their car.
Elijah almost rolled his eyes butanaged to resist the urge. Knowing his brother he just wanted their sister to pamper him and not actually wanting to do his responsibilities.
After placing a towel on the seat so Klaus' fur doesn't get on the seat they get in and take off to Mikaelson Manor.
Their current residence was in Canada. It was mostly chosen because Klaus' fur isn't the best for the heat and he does like the cold no matter what one assumes based on his preferences of a warmer climate.
They were nearing the Manor and Elijah parked the car. He opened the door and said " Come Niklaus I'm sure our sister has something ready for today."
Kol was leaning against one of the pillars when they went in.
"Look who wondered home after what was supposed to be a 30 minute shopping spree but lasted more than two hours." Said Kol sarcastically as they entered.
Before Elijah could reply he caught sight of Klaus in wolf form. " What is Nik doing in wolf form? Don't tell me you thought it was a good form for shopping? You're such a mutt Nikky." Teased Kol, then laughed as Klaus snapped his jaws towards him as if to bite.
"No we just ran into some problems Lol, stop trying to get a rise out of Niklaus. Niklaus stop trying to bite him. We talked about this no wolf biting or you know what happens." Warned Elijah in a practiced manner that suggested he done it more times that he could count.
Klaus just played down and growled at Kol when he started to laugh at him. "Same goes for you as well little brother."
Kol stopped laughing but smirked. "Don't worry 'Lijah, I'm not a mutt I won't bite our brother and if he bites me I can bite back. No problemo." Said Kol still smirking like he just won the whole exchange.
Just as Elijah was debating hitting his brother on the head with a brick, Rebekah finally appeared as if summoned by some outside force.
"Hey! No messing with our brother like that when he is a wolf Kol! And Nik be nicer to him, even if you want to scratch his eyeballs out. Lord knows I do." Yelled Rebekah first at Kol then reprimanded Klaus, who just huffed and just as he was about to go to his room, Rebekah stopped him.
"Come on brother it's movie night." Said an excited Rebekah. When Klaus just rolled his eyes she smirked. "Or you can go sulk like a toddler and Kol gets all the affection and neck scratches." As she was halfway through her sentence he was already sprinting back to the living room downstairs.
When they got down Elijah and Kol were already lounging on the couch. They made their way there and settled into a position that they rarely attempted. Rebekah was at one side next to her was Kol and then Elijah. Klaus was somehow stretched across all their laps with his head on Rebekah's and his stomach on Elijah's.
Rebekah started petting his head slowly as the movie started. And to everyone's surprise instead of Elijah it was Kol who followed. Scratching at his neck in a way they all knew he liked it.
After the curse's removal it had taken months for Klaus to be comfortable with them petting him like this. Mostly because the noises coming out of his muzzle embarrassed him. But slowly he started trusting them with this and this was something not even Kol dared to make fun of him of. Sure he might tease him in arguments but never with anyone else overhearing it and never in a hurtful way.
Truthfully Kol was enjoying himself like this almost as much as Klaus was. After all the daggering and threats, he was finally treated as a brother and someone who can do this.
So without further ado and the movie getting to the plot he takes over and in between the screen sounds there are the low whines his brother makes, and the satisfied low growl, as he scratches a sensitive spot on the neck.
Elijah watches as his little brother uses their younger brother as a personal servant. But doesn't miss the way the older's ears go a bit sideways in obvious contentment.
Slowly but surely both Klaus and Kol fall asleep.
He and Rebekah look at each other and smile. It was about time after all. And they stop the movie. Elijah sped upstairs and grabs two blankets and spends down and him and Rebekah lay it on Kol and Klaus.
"Do you think we should join them?" Whispers Rebekah in his ear so low as not to wake them.
Elijah looks at them and smiles and shakes his head. "Leave them be, they could both use this." He whispered back, and they went to sleep themselves.
Elijah wakes up and thinks all is as well in my family as it could be just as he thought that he hears a loud crash.
"Gah Nik get something on! I don't want to see you dick as I wake up!!"
Well almost everything. Thought Elijah fondly, some things never change as he heard Niklaus shouting in reply at Kol.
But he wouldn't have it any other way.
