EPISODE 2: THE CRUELEST
THREE DAYS REMAINING:
INT. NURSE'S OFFICE
Hakuno blinks her eyes open seeing Tamamo looking down at her with a concerned look that quickly morphs into a manic grin. Sakura stands a good distance away.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
MASTER!!! You're finally awake!
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I um, would like a little space.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Oh, of course. Sorry...
Tamamo backs off and shrinks a bit. Hakuno sits straight up and looks at Tamamo.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Right, well I'm sure you have plenty of questions-
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Yeah, like why am I here?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Oh, that's bad. That's really bad.
Sakura walks to the two of them.
SAKURA MATOU
The moon has returned everyone's memories, any still incomplete are outside my scope.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Weren't you the slacker from Archery club?
SAKURA MATOU
No, my identity was randomly generated. My purpose is to keep the Masters alive.
Sakura looks away for a second, then shakes it off and looks back.
SAKURA MATOU
Disregard the preliminaries, they no longer matter.
Hakuno is lost in thought while Tamamo glows from her idea.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I know, let's see what you do know!
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I'm pretty sure it's next to nothing.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
If it was we wouldn't be talking now, would we?
Hakuno lets a glimmer of hope reach her eyes, then shakes it off. Tamamo smirks.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Let's start easy, what's the Holy Grail?
The HOLY GRAIL appears in front of them, nobody reacts to it.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
It's a magical item that grants wishes to whoever wields it.
The Grail disappears.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Great, now how about servants and masters?
A SERVANT and a Master appears in front of them.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Servants are spiritual beings that work with Masters, for their own ends.
Hakuno tilts her head the other way. An arrow from a master points to their servant.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Masters are basically batteries for their Servants, but they can do other stuff.
The Servant and Master notice something and look opposite ways.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Masters can sense Master, and Servants can sense most Servants.
The Master get shot with an arrow, the Servant fades away.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
If a Master dies the Servant disappears, but not vice-versa.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
How do you get a servant?
The Master and Servant resets, the Grail appears between the Master and Servant.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
The Grail chooses the Servant most compatible the Master.
The Grail, the Master, and the Servant disappears.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Ooo, you hear that? We're compatible!
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Not that way!
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Let's make it harder, do you remember the classes?
Seven Servants appear, four with weapons and three without. The four weapons are: a SABER, a bow, a DAGGER, and a LANCE. Between the three without one of them is on horseback, another is posing, and the last is feral.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Berserker, and... Assassin.
Tamamo frowns a bit at Berserker and Saber.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Which one are you?
The Servants disappears and Tamamo gives a maniac grin.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I'm a Caster!
Hakuno cringes a little and forces a smile.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
The glass cannon!?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Exactly!
Hakuno gives a thousand-yard stare. A Caster appears getting jumped by the other six servants, then disappears.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I'm going to die.
Tamamo claps her hands and puts on a plastic smile.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
We've reminisced enough, we have a game to win!
Hakuno and Tamamo walk out, both significantly more on edge than they would like to be. Just as Tamamo was about to leave and Hakuno is out of earshot Sakura tugs on Tamamo.
SAKURA MATOU
(whispering)
You need to tell her,
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Why should I?
Tamamo disappears leaving Sakura alone who closes the door.
TITLE CARD
INT. HALLWAY FIRST FLOOR
Taiga stands alone while Hakuno looks around, there are some Masters and Students talking amongst themselves. Shinji walks into the Practice Room while Hakuno walks towards Taiga.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Oh there you are! I was worried you wouldn't wake up!
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Did I miss anything?
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Only orientation!
Hakuno winces a bit and steps back. Tamamo appears beside her, slightly translucent.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
We shouldn't trust her.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Why?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Let's call it an aversion of one's own kind.
Hakuno is confused while Taiga looks at Tamamo, Taiga smiles.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
So this is your servant? You got really lucky!
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
How can you see me?
TAIGA FUJIMORA
I'm system, I see what others don't.
Tamamo gets closer to Hakuno.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I really don't think we should trust her.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Now that we've gotten acquainted, take these.
Taiga hands Hakuno her ROOM KEY it says 2A.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Is there a dorm nearby?
TAIGA FUJIMORA
No, we sleep in the classrooms!
Hakuno looks at her key, then looks at Taiga.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
A communal sleeping arrangement? In a death game!?
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Hey! This area is a safe zone I'll have you know!
TAIGA FUJIMORA
(changing demeanor)
Besides, it may not be a death game!
Taiga seems unbothered by the statement, while Hakuno is annoyed.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
She's right, we don't what we're playing.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
The key links to a private room, just use it on the door and POOF! Complete soundproof privacy!
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Soundproof? Aw, Too bad we're under "T" restrictions.
Hakuno looks at her briefly and shakes her head.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Now, I would love to let you kids have your fun, but we're on a bit of a time crunch.
Tamamo is a little offended.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
You're maybe ten years older than her, she's in her twenties!
TAIGA FUJIMORA
I'll have you know this vessel is twenty five years young!
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
This vessel!?
Tamamo opens her mouth to say something but Hakuno blocks her.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Let's just move on.
INT. PRACTICE ROOM
The EVERGREEN FOREST contains only identical trees and pitch white skies. Shinji walks on a TRANSLUCENT PATH. The forest ends with the path only void exists outside of it. Additional paths litter the skyscape.
Shinji faces down an ENEMY, it towers over him while he runs out of the way.
TAIGA FUJIMORA (O.S.)
You have three days to figure out how to kill your opponent.
Shinji runs until he gets to a tree that ASSASSIN (42?, Virtuously Villainous) is standing behind.
TAIGA FUJIMORA (O.S.)
Once time is over, you'll need to battle them in the arena..
Assassin pokes the enemy with a stick from his KRAMPUSNACHT (which is a basket) and the enemy shatters.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI (O.S.)
Can't we attack before hand?
TAIGA FUJIMORA (O.S.)
Unless you can kill them in thirty seconds, you'll be booted out.
Shinji climbs the tree, picks something out, and drops it to the Assassin.
TAIGA FUJIMORA (O.S.)
And you can only go in once per day! Don't forget it!
TAMAMO-NO-MAE (O.S.)
Where?
TAIGA FUJIMORA (O.S.)
Oh right, the Practice Room of course!
Shinji jumps down, sprains his ankle, and uses HACKER MAGIC to heal up.
TAIGA FUJIMORA (O.S.)
Don't worry about going in now, tomorrow's when the Cipher Key generates!
Shinji looks around his backpack then pulls out a SODA. He drinks it and throws the can back, which gets the Assassin to throw his stick right next to him. He rolls his eyes and picks it up.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
If you don't get the key you will be disqualified. However,
Shinji puts the empty soda into his backpack, then grabs the stick. He trades the stick for a map.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Once your enemy gets the key, they will try to boot you out.
Assassin breaks the stick in half to make a point, Shinji is on edge.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
Oh! It doesn't matter if the key belongs to you, kill if you have to!
INT. HALLWAY FIRST FLOOR
Hakuno is strategizing, Tamamo is fretting, and Shinji is leaving. Shinji spots her and his face turns into an evil grin.
TAIGA FUJIMORA
(grinning)
Your first target is Shinji Matou, shouldn't be too hard!
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Shinji Matou, oh no.
Shinji goes up to them and looks over Hakuno.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
(laughs)
You're my target? Was my absence really enough to wake you up!?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I never talked to you!
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Is that how you treat your old childhood friend!?
Hakuno and Tamamo both stand shocked.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
What.
INT. CLASS 2A PRIVATE
Tamamo looks at the empty classroom with a single cot in the middle and decides to fix it. The cot turns into a king sized highly ordinated bed, the window grows to cover the entire wall, and the flooring along with the walls shift to a wood-grain finish. Outside the window the sky is blue with clouds of binary flowing through.
Hakuno still shocked from Shinji's comment stands there in awe.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
What do you think? It's not a lot, but it's a start!
Hakuno sits down on her king-sized bed.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
It's... I don't think I've ever seen anything like this.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Maybe you did! Isn't that the fun of amensia, your life could be anything!
Hakuno lays down.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I just want the truth, it feels like everyone knows more about me than I do.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
(lying)
I don't.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I know, it's just... Shinji!? SHINJI!?
Tamamo scoots closer, mostly due to the gossip.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
You knew him?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I was supposed to be his friend during the preliminaries,
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Supposed to?
Hakuno sits up and looks down.
INT. HALLWAY FIRST FLOOR
Shinji looks at the door knob to the Nurses office, then walks away with a huff.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I never interacted with him, I was mad at him on the first day,
INT. CLASS 2A
Shinji goes to his desk and gratifies it, with tears in his eyes.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
On the other days it was more proof of something wrong than attachment.
EXT. ARCHERY ROOM
Shinji takes a bow from the storage closet and shoots it. It's a miss.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
It's hard to think that he's not a friend, still... I doubt anyone else gets along with him.
INT. CLASS 2A PRIVATE
Hakuno lays on her bed, she is laying on her side.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
But if we were friends in life it must be devastating to lose that.
Hakuno gets up.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
You're going to kill this guy.
Hakuno tilts her head a little.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Or he's going to kill you.
Hakuno steps closer to Tamamo.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
What are you suggesting?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Worrying about this guy is going to get you killed.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
No it won't.
Tamamo takes a deep breath, and walks to the chalkboard. She draws with some chalk a LITTLE HAKUNO and puts the GUILT BAR above her.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
(pointing to the bar)
This is your guilt, let's assume this guy was your best friend,
Tamamo makes a LITTLE SHINJI giving a gift to Hakuno.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Then you kill him.
Tamamo slashes through the little Shinji.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Suddenly you feel bad about it, which makes you feel guilty.
Tamamo colors in a little bit of the guilt bar, the little Hakuno gets down on her knees.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Guilt always increases when you kill, that's unavoidable but,
Tamamo colors the whole bar, the little Hakuno curls into the fetal position.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
When you're riddled with guilt, you can't be a Master.
Tamamo makes a LITTLE TAMAMO who's is faced with a creature much bigger than her.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
And if I don't have a second set of eyes, or another brain
The little Tamamo gets crushed by the creature.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
We're not going to last much longer.
Tamamo erases the chalkboard and heads back to Hakuno.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
If he thinks you're his friend while you don't,
Tamamo looks her in the eye.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
That's an advantage.
Hakuno steps back a little disgusted, then she thinks about her words.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I know it's not easy to ask you to kill a friend, he knows that.
Tamamo gets closer.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
But I'm not asking you to do that.
Hakuno takes a deep breath.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
It doesn't feel right to just assume he's a bastard.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Assume everyone's a bastard, assume everyone's a soldier, assume everyone will kill you for a protein bar!
Hakuno looks down.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I can't do that.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I CAN!
Tamamo covers her mouth realizing what she's saying.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Are you okay?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I'm fine. Sorry, it's not right to ask that of you.
Hakuno looks up at Tamamo, who gives a shaky smile.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
What happened to you?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Nothing you should worry over.
Hakuno looks away.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI

What if they know and I don't?
Tamamo pauses, then her face morphs to a soft smile.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
If you don't know, what hope does anyone else have?
Tamamo opens the door.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Let's worry about all this later, okay?
Hakuno drops her face but keeps her eyes on Tamamo.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI

Tell me what happened to you.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
You're going to need a command seal to get that out of me.
Hakuno raises her hand with the command seal.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
You remember that's a terrible idea right?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Three seals, with absolute power over the servant, when the servant isn't responding to your will.
Hakuno stares Tamamo in the eye.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Tell me or I make you tell me.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
If I told you, you'd know my name.
Hakuno lowers her arm, resigned. Tamamo walks out of the open door, Hakuno stands for a bit then follows.
INT. PRACTICE ROOM - EVERGREEN FOREST - CLEARING
Hakuno and Tamamo are standing on opposite ends while the ELEVATOR slowly goes down, both don't want to make eye contact and both are too intrigued to keep distance.
The door opens up and reveals a wide open field surrounded by the evergreen forest. Hakuno carefully sneaks in while Tamamo makes great effort to appear like she isn't doing the same thing, and additional effort to not collapse from exhaustion.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Why aren't we sleeping at homeeee!?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
You were the one who walked out,
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
<
What!? You're supposed to be the one in control!
Hakuno stops Tamamo as they see a monster between the trees, Tamamo readies her mirror and the monster bears its CLAWS.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I need to see you in action, and we need to learn the layout.
Tamamo approaches the monster and takes a swing. The monster staggers back, then rushes towards Tamamo on all fours.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Guess I'm stronger than I look!
Hakuno is very concerned.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
You shouldn't be.
Tamamo laughs but Hakuno keeps her concern as her gaze goes to the monster. It attacks and Tamamo takes a huge blow sending her all the way back to the elevator.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Right, still a glass canon.
Tamamo stands up bleeding from her mouth.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Heh, it's not the weapon that makes a Caster, it's the spells.
Tamamo tries to produce CHAOS HEAVEN but finds her hand empty, now she's scared.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
That's funny, where are my Heavens?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Your heavens?
Tamamo dodges the monster's slash and rushes towards the exit, the monster turns towards Hakuno as she's closer and standing still. Hakuno quickly reaches in her backpack to pull her crossbow and an arrow.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
We need to leave!
The monster lunges at Hakuno who shoots it point blank in the head, it doesn't even flinch. They fall to the floor as the monster sinks its left claw into her when Tamamo rushes in and smashes her mirror against it over and over, killing it while Hakuno keeps the claw in her.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Is that still in you!? We have to get it out!
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Getting it out will kill me.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Then what are we supposed to do!?
Hakuno looks at her mirror.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Is that thing sharp?
Tamamo forces a smile.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
You want me to cut it up?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Or we're bringing the whole thing with us.
Tamamo sighs as she takes the mirror into her hand and cuts the monster's claw loose. Hakuno slowly gets up.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Huh, must be the adrenaline, I don't even feel it.
They both leave as Hakuno keeps the claw steady.
TWO DAYS REMAINING:
INT. NURSE'S OFFICE
Hakuno wakes up in a hospital bed, disappointed that she isn't in the lush bed that Tamamo made. Tamamo is sitting down on the counter-top and Sakura is looking over her.
SAKURA MATOU
This isn't going to be the last time I see you.
Hakuno sits up and sighs.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Sorry, I was paired with your brother.
SAKURA MATOU
We only share a last name.
Hakuno gets out of bed, Tamamo is nervous but Hakuno doesn't know why.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
You didn't have a life before this, it could've matter to you.
Sakura looks away, tears hit the floor.
SAKURA MATOU
It doesn't, I'm just ones and zeroes.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
You don't sound like it.
Sakura looks towards Hakuno then shakes her head.
SAKURA MATOU
I'm not supposed to.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Then why do you look so pained?
Sakura smiles brightly with her tears streaming down.
SAKURA MATOU
So you'll like me.
INT. HALLWAY SECOND FLOOR
Hakuno and Tamamo stand outside of class 2A, Hakuno is lost in thought while Tamamo is fidgeting. Hakuno puts her hand on the handle when she overhears Shinji's boasting to Rin.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Yeah, I fully kitted out my Assassin, he's so strong now.
RIN TOHSAKA
Oh really, you went to the church?
Shinji's false smile falters for a second.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Yeah, so what?
RIN TOHSAKA
Huh, I didn't take you as a newbie.
Shinji is still smiling but his eyes give away his fear.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
I'm no noob, I've had my servant for longer than I can remember!
RIN TOHSAKA
Oh really, what's his name?
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Of course I know his name it's K-
Rin's laughter cuts him off.
RIN TOHSAKA
(laughing)
How new are you? Oh man if only I didn't cut you off.
Rin stops laughing and looks him dead in the eye.
RIN TOHSAKA
You're going to die here.
Rin smirks.
RIN TOHSAKA
And I'll enjoy every second of it.
Shinji turns around and sees Hakuno staring at him. His mask slips.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Gah!
He puts a uneasy smile back on his face.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
It's just one letter, you can't get anything from that.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
(Pretending to ignore him)
Did you hear that, I think he said his Servant's class was Assassin?
Shinji freaks out and runs past them, going down the stairs.
INT. CHURCH
The mural is gone, in its place is the ATTUNMENT STATION. Behind the podium stands AOKO AOZAKI(23?, earnestly destructive) and in-between the seats lies a dead body. Hakuno doesn't see the dead body but still walks towards Aoko nervously.
AOKO AOZAKI
Oh, I didn't expect to see anyone after the first day.
Aoko grins mischievous.
AOKO AOZAKI
You're here for an Alteration of the Soul? Got to say your soul seems mighty interesting.
Hakuno eyes shifts around.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
I heard that you strengthen servants here.
Aoko grin fades and she's now looking at Hakuno puzzled.
AOKO AOZAKI
Right, I only see one of you.
Tamamo appears right in front of Hakuno.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I'm sorry, you must have mistaken my master for me.
Aoko grins again and she boots up her TERMINAL.
AOKO AOZAKI
All right then, come up here and I'll see what you're made of.
Tamamo goes up to the Attunement Station and Hakuno follows before being blocked by Aoko.
AOKO AOZAKI
You're not the one who wants an Alteration, right?
Hakuno backs off but Aoko keeps on eye on her, she seems almost disappointed. Tamamo climbs onto the Attunement Station and suddenly she starts levitating. Aoko is focused on her terminal while Hakuno is awestruck.
The terminal displays five stats: Strength, Agility, Defense, Magic, and Luck. Next to the stats are two bars the NATURAL bar and the ATTUNED bar, Tamamo's Natural bars have a big spike in Magic with another spike a third as big in Agility. Her Attuned bars are equal in length.
AOKO AOZAKI
What!?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Is it my stats?
Aoko looks at Tamamo like that was the single dumbest question ever uttered in the history of man.
AOKO AOZAKI
Why do you have perfectly balanced stats!?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I wanted to be the perfect servant!
Aoko chuckles, Tamamo feels embarrassed, Hakuno is concerned. Aoko erases her Attunement stats and doubles her Magic stat.
AOKO AOZAKI
Fine. Master, do you want Agility or Defense?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Which one is better?
AOKO AOZAKI
(Sighs)
That's always the question.
Aoko types into the terminal.
AOKO AOZAKI
I'm going to quickly do a power check.
Aoko recoils in horror. Nine appears in the top right.
AOKO AOZAKI
NINE!? NINE!? NINE!?!?!?!?
Aoko takes clasps her hands together and takes a deep breath.
AOKO AOZAKI
Defense, you need defense.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
But what if I don't get hit?
AOKO AOZAKI
You. Need. Defense.
Hakuno looks at her like a terminal patient looks at a doctor.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
How bad is it?
Aoko puts her head down.
AOKO AOZAKI
You'd need to be the best master in the world to make this work.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
So it's possible.
Aoko looks her in the eye.
AOKO AOZAKI
I don't believe in impossible.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
What about my skills?
AOKO AOZAKI
You don't have your skills?
Tamamo shakes her head no.
AOKO AOZAKI
It's impossible.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Can you give my skills back?
Aoko types in the terminal and three sheets of paper appear in front of Tamamo: FRIGID HEAVEN, FIERY HEAVEN, and Chaos Heaven.
AOKO AOZAKI
I've hit a wall, I need more information.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Caster didn't want to tell me because it's a risk.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Caster's such a formal name.
Aoko closes her eyes.
AOKO AOZAKI
And you're afraid that I'll give it out aren't you?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Red-heads don't have souls.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
We still need to get the Cipher Key.
Tamamo grins.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
<
With my three Heavens we can trample anything in our way!
Aoko presses a single key and Tamamo is stopped by an invisible wall. Aoko has a manic smile.
AOKO AOZAKI
Heaven? Now we're talking!
Aoko types so fast her fingers are blurred, Tamamo and Hakuno watch nervously. A flash blinds the room and another paper appears before Tamamo, BESTIAL SKY. Then Aoko slams her head on the podium.
AOKO AOZAKI
(grunting)
Another roadblock.
Aoko moves her head slightly towards Hakuno.
AOKO AOZAKI
How would you feel about an impromptu alteration?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI

Hakuno and Tamamo descend into the Evergreen Forest, with Tamamo relaxed while Hakuno is focused. They see the same monster from yesterday and Tamamo destroys it with a single Chaos Heaven.

Hakuno picks a direction and runs, Tamamo follows.

INT. PRACTICE ROOM - EVERGREEN FOREST - CACHE
The CACHE (floating yellow cube) is located in the corner of a perfectly square clearing. The path to the clearing is perfectly straight.
Shinji runs frantically while his servant is nowhere to be seen, but that doesn't mean he isn't there. Shinji finds a Cache but is disappointed when he reaches inside and only grabs a shirt.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Ugg, we're never going to find the key!
ASSASSAIN
Oh great terrible Master, tell me again why you shan't speak my name?
Shinji huffs in annoyance, the thing behind the tree raises an eyebrow.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
(dethatched)
If I spill your name they can figure everything by who you were.
ASSASSAIN
But oh why? Why is that so bad?
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
(dethatched)
Cause exploiting weaknesses is what masters do.
Shinji rolls his eyes while his map gets thrown right at him.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
HEY! You're the Servant and I'm the Master, don't tell me what to do!
Shinji gets choked by Assassin, he can vaguely see his mask.
ASSASSAIN
Heh, I'm not your slave. I simply want order and you just need to know your place.
Assassin drop his Basket right in front of Shinji while letting him go.
ASSASSAIN
Otherwise, you'll go where the bad children are.
Assassin laughs manically while Shinji runs away terrified.
INT. PRACTICE ROOM - EVERGREEN FOREST - CIPHER KEY LOCATION
Through branches and bushes the Cache shines out highlighting it even with the foliage hiding it. A small path barely makes it walkable while it's surrounded by trees on all ends.
Hakuno runs to the Cache from the path, while Shinji cuts through the trees. Shinji reaches it first and shows off the CIPHER KEY.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND

Hakuno freezes, while Shinji gloats.

Assassin throws his branch at Hakuno to which Tamamo becomes opaque and expertly blocks it with her mirror. The encounter has started.
Assassin sends more branches which Tamamo dodges.

We're getting it together!
Hakuno and Tamamo march forward dodging the branches.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Good news, these sticks are easy to dodge!
The branches come from a completely different angle. Tamamo's hand jerks unnaturally and the mirror breaks a stick.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Bad news, it's an Assassin.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
Why's that matter!?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Servants can't feel Assassins.
They get to the Cache and Hakuno reaches in but right before she gets the key she's ambushed by Assassin. Assassin holds down Hakuno so she doesn't see him while trying to maintain the blind spot.
Tamamo just slaps a Frigid heaven on him and he goes flying.
Hakuno catches a glance at him and sees his KRAMPUS MASK, which is not as anonymizing as he would like.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Are you Krampus?
All four of them disappear in a cloud of data.
INT. HALLWAY SECOND FLOOR
Hakuno stands in front of 2A depressed when Tamamo appears translucent and concerned. Rin is afar waiting impatiently.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
How are we going to get that key?
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
I'm sure we'll figure out something, maybe it doesn't count until tomorrow?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
But tomorrow's the arena.
Tamamo pouts and Rin approaches.
RIN TOHSAKA

Rin disappears, Hakuno sighs, and Tamamo glares.

Hakuno pinches the bridge of her nose.

EXT. ROOFTOP
Tamamo is translucent and keeping a playful demeaner while chatting with Hakuno. Archer is also translucent while leaning next to Rin who is staring at the sky.

(glancing at Hakuno)

Rin turns around clearly annoyed and Archer becomes opaque.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI

RIN TOHSAKA
(scoffs)

Rin is taken aback and blinks out of confusion.

Rin sighs and stands up with her hands on her hips.

Hakuno looks away from Tamamo and towards Rin.
RIN TOHSAKA
(Pointing at herself)

RIN TOHSAKA
(Pointing at the ground)

(stomping the ground)
And he's the scum of the Earth!
Rin goes right up to Hakuno's face and stares her in the eye.

So you're going to kill him, and let us all have some peace!
ARCHER

RIN TOHSAKA
(Glaring at Archer)
Oh don't act like you don't want him dead too!
Archer gazes off in the distance, chuckles, then looks back.
ARCHER
I knew his family, don't blame him.
RIN TOHSAKA

ARCHER
Are you sure?
Rin facepalms and squeezes the bridge of her nose.
RIN TOHSAKA
Children don't win the V.A.M.P. for four fucking years in a row!

Rin throws her hands up in the air and paces around.

Rin types on her arm as a bright light envelopes the area, suddenly she is holding the cipher key.

Rin grasps the key and stares Hakuno down grinning manically.

Hakuno steps back.

Hakuno turns back, determined while Tamamo is frightened.

Hakuno opens the door while Tamamo goes opaque.

You need to keep a better leash on your servant.
Hakuno whips around and stares at Tamamo gob smacked.

Hakuno softens, Archer looks Tamamo over, unimpressed.
ARCHER
She looks the type to use master like a comma.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE

Rin walks up and gives Hakuno the cipher key.
RIN TOHSAKA

Hakuno looks at her hand.

Rin pulls away embarrassed, Tamamo smirks, and Archer facepalms.
Hakuno ponders something terrible then shakes her head.

We should look up Krampus.

But it's lattteeee, don't you want to sleep?

Hakuno looks at the sky, confused as she turns away.
RIN TOHSAKA

It's Kishinami Hakuno.
Hakuno sighs and leaves with Tamamo disappearing, Rin and Archer share a look of understanding.

Rani types on the computer while Saber stands next to her leaning on EXCALIBUR. Leo reads Anna Karenina in a corner, Julius watches over him.
Hakuno walks through the door and gets blasted by the vibes.

Rani spins on her rolling chair, and faces Hakuno dead-faced.
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Oh my God it's Saber.
RANI VIII
Oh hey, I thought you wouldn't make it past the summoning ritual.

Leo closes his book and runs up to her like a puppy dog.
LEONARDO B. HARWAY

Right I haven't properly introduced my servant, come here Gawain.
Besides Leo SIR GAWAIN appears, softly smiling his presence intimidates Hakuno.

Gawain holds out a hand, Hakuno doesn't take it.
Saber looks towards Gawain with contempt.
SABER
It's been a long time, hasn't it?
SIR GAWAIN

Gawain vanishes and Leo walks away.
Hakuno looks at Saber with curiosity and fear.

Rani scoots her rolling chair and spins it facing Hakuno.

Leo rests on a bookshelf and points to Excalibur.

Rani stands up, looks over the books, and makes a stack bigger than her before going to Hakuno.
Rani hands Hakuno the books. Hakuno can't handle it's weight.

Hakuno barely carries her books, Shinji spots her.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND

Hakuno feels the anger of the library (who aren’t disturbed in the slightest), but Shinji buys it, Tamamo looks at her like she just failed basic math.

Tamamo appears and shoves Hakuno out of the way.

This is a safe zone, you can’t do anything to me.
Tamamo flings her mirror and it passes right through him, Assassin closes the distance.
ASSASSAIN
Oh how wrong you are, there is nothing saving you from me.
Assassin engulves Hakuno in his Krampusnacht.

Hakuno and Tamamo blink and shake their heads.

It's just a fancy way of saying the name of the weapon.

Tamamo puts down Assassin next to Class and Stick next to Weapon Type.

Tamamo draws an arrow pointing at little Assassin and writes "wears a mask."
Hakuno flips through the books, reads a single line, and sighs clutching the bridge of her nose.

And he also steals children.
Tamamo makes an arrow to Assassin, writes "Child Kidnapper."

Alright, great start, what about the basket?
HAKUNO KISHINAMI
Well it's made out of sticks.
Tamamo puts not durable next to the basket.

The Arena is empty save for Hakuno, Tamamo, and NULL'S GRUDGE. Tamamo waits impatiently while Hakuno stares at it.

Tamamo and Hakuno look right at Shinji and Assassin who enter on the other side despite there being only one door.
A forcefield appears across the Arena dividing it in two, the field surrounds the perimeter.
Assassin readies his basket, while Shinji reaches into his backpack and pulls out a GUN.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
No need, only a master can win the Grail.
Shinji points it right at Hakuno, a wild look in his eyes.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND
And masters are squishy.
The forcefield diving the two disappears, and as it does Shinji pulls the trigger.
The bullet hits a shocked Hakuno, and passes right through.
Shinji drops his gun in utter confusion and rage.

I guess the masters are protected.

Assassin throws a stick at Tamamo, she bats it away.

Tamamo bounces back throwing more Heavens while Krampus dodges them.
Krampus gets close with his basket right above her, Tamamo lightly applies a Frigid Heaven to his nose. It sends him flying back to Shinji.

(staring at Hakuno)
How'd you even get here!? You don't have a key.
Tamamo grins as uses a Bestial Sky and flings a Fiery Heaven, the flames are big enough to almost reach her.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE
Let's say you have enemies in high places.
Assassin stabs the ground in frustration while Shinji walks forward with hands in the air grinning with false confidence.
SHINJI MATOU THE SECOND (O.C.)
Okay, how's this? I lied, I knew you had no memories so I lied! WE WERE NEVER FRIENDS!!!
Shinji stands perfectly still grandstanding while everyone just stares at him. Shinji is genuinely disheartened by the lack of reaction.

The barrier goes up again, both of them are shocked.

Tamamo swings her mirror nervously.

Assassin closes in on Tamamo, she throws a Frigid Heaven on the ground and uses it to jump over him. She throws three Chaos Heavens on Assassin to throw herself away from him. Hakuno is shocked.

Tamamo's hand twitches unnaturally, blocking a stick.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE

Assassin nearly stabs Tamamo with a stick, she ducks under tripping him with her mirror. She places a Frigid Heaven on his chest which shoots him all the way to the barrier.

Tamamo uses Bestial Sky throwing a Chaos Heaven at Assassin.

Assassin catches a Chaos Heaven in his hand and laughs, Shinji is in horror over what he just said.

Assassin closes in on Shinji with his basket, Tamamo looks at Hakuno.

Tamamo launches a Fiery Heaven at Assassin. He doesn't stop his pursuit.

Tamamo fires a Chaos Heaven, a Fiery Heaven, and a Frigid Heaven at Assassin, he gets thrown off then stands back up and pursues.

ASSASSAIN
You're a servant, you can just stay up alllll night.
Tamamo uses Bestial Sky and throws a Frigid Heaven at him sending him to the barrier.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE

Tamamo swings her mirror with murderous intent pursuing Assassin.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE

Assassin throws sticks but Tamamo deflects it without batting an eye.

Tamamo takes her mirror and jams it into his throat, throwing as many curses as she can.

All because the lawman wills it, it makes me sick.
Tamamo yanks the mirror back and looks at Assassin who's not moving anymore.
She cautiously starts moving away while not turning her back, Assassin finally gets a stick in her, dropping her to her knees, before encasing her in his basket.
INT. KRAMPUSNACHT
It's dark and cramped, there's eyes everywhere looking at her. Tamamo stares at a hole in the very top of the basket. She throws a Fiery Heaven at it, the basket rattles a little.
ASSASSAIN
Goodnight, Krampusnacht.
The basket glows a bright purple, the eyes move around slowly going faster and faster.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE (V.O.)
Is this it?
The eyes go so fast they become a line.
TAMAMO-NO-MAE (V.O.)
No, I still have my trump card.
Tamamo holds her mirror out and eight pillars surround her as she closes her eyes. The eyes close in.

Tamamo throws a Fiery Heaven as the line closes in on her.
INT. ARENA
Tamamo breaks free from the basket sending sticks everywhere. The basket was right above a scared Shinji as Assassin was going to kill him right after. Assassin is annoyed and Shinji has his Terminal out.
While Tamamo rolls away and gets up while Assassin gathers all the sticks again into a basket. Shinji walks away when the Assassin brings the basket down.
