Chapter Text
Mozart found his calling at age five, composing his first minuet. Picasso discovered his talent for painting when he was nine. Tiger Woods swung his first club well before his second birthday. Jimin was eight when he discovered his purpose in life.
He was at the St. Thomas Church next to the Hyatt Regency in Weehawken, New Jersey. It was his cousin Hangyeol's wedding. It was the first big family event since his mother had died, and his dad was not in great shape.
"Here, Appa, let me." Jimin took over fixing the ribbon in Jihyun's hair.
Once it was tied properly, Jihyun jumped to his feet. "Appa, can you take me to the bathroom? I have to go pee."
Clearly panicking, their dad looked to Jimin. "Come on, Jihyun, let's go." Jimin took his little brother by the hand and led him down the aisle to the bathroom.
While waiting for Jihyun to finish, a shrill scream pierced the air and cousin Hangyeol came running to the mirror to look at a rip in the back of his wedding dress. "Shit!" Jimin's giggles alerted the adult to the fact that he was there. "I'm so sorry, Jimin."
"It's okay." Jimin said. "We have cable."
Hangyeol turned back to the mirror and frowned. "What'll I do? What the fu-heck am I gonna do?"
As Jihyun came out of the stall, Jimin took the ribbon from his hair and used it to both cover the rip and add extra detailing to Hangyeol's gown. "Thank you so much, sweetie!" Hangyeol gushed. "You saved the day! Why don't you hold my train for me?"
It was that moment when Jimin fell in love with weddings. He knew that he had helped someone on the most important day of their life, and he couldn't wait for his own special day.

"Jimin, that's stunning!" The bridal consultant gushed over the wedding gown Jimin was wearing. "It truly is! It's the perfect dress! You look so beautiful!"
"Really?" Jimin smiled and turned away from the mirror to face the consultant. "You really think so?"
The consultant nodded. "It's amazing! Like it was made for you!"
Jimin felt his cheeks flushing just as his phone started buzzing on his stack of clothes. "Can you grab that for me?" He asked and the consultant quickly retrieved it for him. He saw the name 'Jessica' flashing on the screen and answered it immediately. "They just finished hemming it."
"It fits?"
"Yep!" Jimin confirmed. "Thank god we're the same size."
"Are you coming now?"
Jimin hummed. "I'm gonna have it over to you in just a minute. Don't worry about anything, okay? This is your day."
"Thanks, Jimin."

Jimin stood tensely on the busy street corner in his bridesmaid dress, holding Jessica's gown protectively while eyeing everyone that came too close to him. Finally, Seokjin appeared in front of him. "There you are!" Jimin smiled. "You look great!" He gave Seokjin a quick hug before pulling him along.
As they made it across the street, Jimin suddenly handed Seokjin his bag. "What is this?" Seokjin asked.
"I brought you a shawl, Visine, Tylenol, a pair of my earrings. Now about your hair-"
Seokjin cut him off. "The bitch said, 'out of your face'. It's out of my face."
Jimin stifled a laugh. "I'll fix it inside."

"Aren't the dresses great?" Jessica asked as Jimin made sure her dress was smoothed out for the bridal party pictures. "The best thing about them is you can shorten them and wear them again!"
"So true." Jimin agreed while Seokjin rolled his eyes.

"We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Jessica and Matthew." Jimin subtly checked his watch, feeling his anxiety grow as the officiant droned on and on. "This is a time of great joy as we honor two people who have come together to be joined in holy matrimony."
The second the ceremony was over, Jimin was hightailing it out of the church and hailing a cab. "31 Water Street, Brooklyn." Jimin rattled off the address to the driver, already reaching around himself to unzip his dress. "I will give you $450 flat for the entire night on one condition. Don't look in the rearview mirror or I deduct."
"Yep." The driver agreed.
"Great." Jimin opened the garment bag he'd brought with him and proceeded to strip out of his current dress.
"What are you doing?" The driver asked him.
Jimin glared at him in the mirror. "You just cost yourself $25."
The driver quickly averted his gaze back to the road. "No one's looking."
By the time the driver came to a stop outside the new venue, Jimin was fully dressed in a traditional hanbok and practically throwing himself out of the car. "I'll be right back!" He promised, running into the building to find the bride and tend to her before the ceremony began.
"Thank god you're here!" Ashley, one of the other bridesmaids, exclaimed as soon as she spotted him. "I'm freaking out! I forgot my thingy!" She gestured to the binyeo in Jimin's hair that all of the bridesmaids were supposed to wear.
"I brought extra." Jimin pulled one out of his bag and placed it in Ashley's hair for her.
The bride, Emily, came out at that moment with a squeal. "Aren't these dresses great?" She gushed over the bridesmaid dresses. "And the best thing is, you could just shorten it and wear it again."
Jimin glanced down at his hanbok. "That is definitely so true."

"We gather here today to join in holy matrimony, Emily Cohen and Sejin Baek." Emily's rabbi said, Sejin's chosen officiant repeating his words in Korean. Once again, Jimin subtly checked his watch. "Emily and Sejin are so happy that so many of you are here today…"
As soon as the ceremony was over, Jimin once again took off running out to the waiting taxi where he found the driver idly leaning against the hood of the car as if he had all the time in the world. "What are you doing?" Jimin asked in a panic. "Get in the car!" The driver hurried to get inside while Jimin dove into the backseat.
While changing out of his hanbok back into his other bridesmaid dress, Jimin caught the driver's gaze in the mirror again. "Hey! You are down to $400 now. Are you sure you wanna keep this up?"
The driver sighed deeply. "No."

"Which one do you want?" Seokjin suddenly asked Jimin. "The brunet or the blond? I kinda want the blond."
"Seokjin, can't you keep it in your pants for one wedding?" Jimin teased him.
Seokjin shot him a look. "The only reason to wear this monstrous dress is so some drunken groomsalpha can rip it to shreds with his teeth."

Back and forth, Jimin went, celebrating two very different weddings and using the cab as his personal closet and dressing room. And he was doing it perfectly smoothly, no way anyone noticed him disappearing and reappearing throughout the night from either celebration. Everything was perfect…until he got knocked to the ground by an overzealous omega in her rush to catch the bouquet at Jessica's reception.
But maybe that was perfect too because now an angel was staring down at him in concern. "Easy." The angel murmured, holding Jimin down as he tried to sit up. "You don't want to move around too much." He turned to look at the bridesmaids crowding around them. "This is a serious injury. I need you to get me some ice, you give me a bottle of 100 proof liquor and something he can bite on." As they ran off, the angel smirked and helped Jimin sit up. "He's fine, folks! Just a little bump on the head! Carry on!"
Jimin winced as he put a hand to his head. "What, are you a doctor?"
"Nope." The alpha shook his head. "Tweedledee and Tweedledrunk were bugging me so I had to get rid of them. Now do you know your name?"
"Jimin." He said.
"Jimin." The alpha repeated as if testing it out for himself. "I'm Yoongi."
"Thank you for helping me." Jimin said as he pushed himself to his feet.
"You good?" Yoongi asked in concern, hovering next to Jimin.
"Yes, I'm fine." Jimin insisted only to start swaying.
Yoongi reached out to steady him. "Okay, why don't we get you a cab?"
