Work Text:

Theo and Liam are adults. They work adult jobs, they cook dinner most days a week, they take their kids to practices, pay taxes, argue about nothing and share a color coded calendar.

So when they wake up to it storming outside, the type you have to pull over and wait out instead of struggling through, with the sun barely visible through the clouds and their own breathing occasionally drowned out by thunder, they decide, as adults can, they're not doing it today.
They turn off their alarms and stay in their warm dry bed together until their six year old stumbles in asking about breakfast.

They make chocolate and banana pancakes in their pajamas, their toddler eating half of the ingredients before they even hit the pan and the dishes sit dirty in the sink afterwards, because they can, while their little family watches Paddington on the couch for the ninetieth time.

The rain doesn't stop as they play another movie. Or another one. And neither does the world.
They'll get up again tomorrow with their alarms and sit through drop offs and meetings and every other mundane part of adulthood without complaint, but today there's goldfish on the carpet and a talking bear on the TV and they're happy and content and dry.
