-In the dorm, in Veely's room-
'Hi my name is Veely , Veely Mezzotint . I'm currently live in the dorms with my roommate, Ducky River , we have been friends since we were in the start of middle school. Up until university, it's nice to have her as my long best friend who's been here since the start. There are others but they don't know me as well as Ducky!
But we are in different course, I'm in Criminology and she is in astronomy and our schedules is cursed because why am I sleeping at 2a.m. in the morning for no reason at all??? Anyways back to the story!

-At The Campus, Mi Siam Mai Hum University-
Veely was walking with Ducky trying to get to there classes, after saying goodbye to each other they went to their own classes. Veely sat down at her usual seat with her table mate being Vanci, she is chill and calm even at life threatening situations really weird that's one way you can put it when it comes to him. She is only here on this class because he didn't know what course to join, but after seeing Veely join Criminology, he joined it too along with them.
Strangle thing is that Vanci is actually good in a medical field,since her science is an A+, you know what he has an A in everything, nerd. But out of everything she could of chosen,he chose Criminology because Veely was in it. Great just great. This is absolutely amazing, now Vanci will annoy Veely for fun. Veely was getting sick of Vanci poking her cheek for fun, so as a resort,Veely took Vanci took his pen and place it in her own pencil case to stop the distraction from Vanci.
Then the teacher came into the classroom, everybody stood up and said good morning to the teacher. After sitting down :
Mr. Smiley : Okay class, please fill to page number 28. We are going to learn about understanding crime & criminals. First, why people commit crime, here are some few examples :
1) Economic pressure of poverty, unemployment, debt, or lack of opportunities can push people toward theft, fraud, or illegal work just to survive.
2) Social environment of growing up around crime, violence, or gangs can normalize it or Peer pressure in especially among young people can make crime feel expected or rewarded.
3) Psychological factors can cause impulsivity, poor self-control, trauma, or certain mental health conditions can increase risk and some people struggle with empathy or consequences, especially if they’ve experienced abuse or neglect.
4) Substance use of drugs and alcohol lower inhibition and judgment. Addiction can drive criminals to steal money for substances.
5) Inequality and injustice by feeling treated unfairly by society, police, or institutions can lead to resentment and rebellion. When legal systems seem stacked against them, breaking the rules may feel pointless to avoid.
6) Opportunity and weak deterrence can make a crime seems easy to get away with (low risk, high reward), more people will try it. Poor law enforcement or corruption can make this worse. These countries scored lowest on the index (0 = most corrupt, 100 = least corrupt):

7) Cultural and situational factors cause some crimes are tied to specific situations: anger, revenge, desperation, or momentary temptation. Cultural norms can also influence what people see as “wrong” or acceptable.
8) Some people in the internet and real life has glamorize committing crimes being labeled as a cool and fun activities.
Most people facing hardship don’t commit crimes. Crime usually happens when multiple risk factors pile up and protective supports (family, education, community, mental health care) are missing.

And next types and patterns of crime from who commits crime, where, when, and against whom. For example :
Who commits crime
1) Age: Crime rates peak in the late teens to early 20s, then decline with age.
2)Gender: Males commit more violent and property cries; females are more involved in certain non-violent offenses.
3) Socioeconomic factors: Higher crime rates are linked to poverty, inequality, unemployment, and limited education (not because of poverty itself, but related stressors and opportunity structures).
4) Repeat offenders: A small group commits a large share of crimes.
Where crime happens
1) Urban areas generally have higher crime rates than rural areas.
2) Hot spots: Specific places like poorly lit streets, bars, transit hubs, and abandoned buildings.
3) Neighborhood effects: Areas with weak social control, high population turnover, and limited resources experience more crime.
When crime happens
1)Time of day:
1) Property crime - more common during the day.
Violent crime - more common at night.
2)Days & seasons:
Weekends see more violent crime.
Crime rates often rise in summer months.
3)Life events: Crime tends to decrease with stable jobs, marriage, and strong social ties.
Against whom crime is committed
1) Victims often know the offender, especially in violent crimes.
2) Vulnerable groups: children, the elderly, marginalized communities.
3) Businesses and public institutions are frequent targets of property and cyber crimes.
4) Opportunity-based victimization: crimes happen where targets are accessible and unprotected.

As the teacher continues to speak about Criminal behavior, Victims of crime, Social reactions to crime and Crime prevention and control. Veely was taking important notes while Vanci was writing about medication and poison in her book not really caring about the teacher, even though he should really pay attention to the teacher when their talking about important stuff, then Veely suddenly brought up a topic :
Veely : So... How are you gonna celebrate valentines with your partner?
Vanci : How do you know that Im dating someone Veely?
Veely : Just some backdoor access, nah I'm just kidding. I show it when I was holding your phone for you.
Vanci : Your officially banned from touching my phone congratulations Veely.
Veely : Wait what- Never mind just pay attention in class.
Then they both turned their head back to the teacher still teaching unaware of the conversation between them.
-After 1 hour-
Finally the bell rang and they got dismissed, to go to the next class, and with Veely's luck, they got every same class as Vanci. Amazing just amazing, am I right? So heading to science class with Vanci, Veely couldn't help but think to skip their daily patrol today just for rest, to be honest, they have been on patrol since they became one. Honesty, the government only cares about the Upper District Of PineRose, which sucks considering they are all snobby, rich and rude people who only cares about their reputation, fame and themselves. And the corrupted governe treats the lower district like shit.
Then Veely got a message from Amethyst, their patrol partner with the message :
Ame : Hey Tnt, I just got a message from frog light that they can't do patrol today because of some inconvenient. So we can't skip today because the lower district is getting worse day by day. I hope you can understand.
Tnt 💥 :dw gng but I'm rn in school but it lowkey pmo. But gtg bcz of science class. Ty for the announcement tho gng.
Ame : ... I still have no idea how u talk like that.
Tnt 💥 : Whteva bro.
Veely put away their phone and went to class with knowing they have to go on patrol today. To be honest, science class wasn't that bad because the teacher was nice and all, Veely teacher was lying when talk about that shit won't fly in college. But whatever, after some hour of school it was finally the end of it all. Veely literally ran to their dorm to rest.
After getting to their room, they threw the bag to some random corner of their dorm without care and lay on their bed knowing they have patrol this night but that's their biggest worry soon but they don't need to know that though.
