Work Text:
Cha Euijae is a busy normal university student. Assignments keep coming without stop, and in the middle of all that he still have to join campus events held by the seniors—if he doesn’t want to be on their bad side.
This world is full of seniority…
Of course, like other normal students, he hoped for a campus love life with someone he likes.
But reality slap him harder.
Cha Euijae is popular. Yes, he is popular because of his unconditional kindness, and his face is quite handsome too (according to himself). But that’s all. For 3 years in campus, not even one person ever approached him. And worse—he also can’t be in a relationship if he is not interested in that person.
Euijae is not interested in anyone so far.
Ah, whatever. Damn love life.
He even struggle to eat three times a day because his money is barely enough. Because of that his schedule become more full with part-time jobs. There is no time for romance.
In the end, he gave up.
That was before a handsome freshman with beautiful eyes appeared and caught everyone’s attention.
Cha Euijae who already stop hoping for love—he only hope to survive and graduate peacefully—instead attracted that person’s attention.
Yes. All attention turned to them.
“Hyung, eat this.”
The young man, Lee Sayoung, put his two sausages on Euijae’s tray.
“… Thank you.”
They were eating at the cafeteria of the Computer Science and Science faculty building, which is of course free.
‘This kid, how can he come here every day when our majors are different?’
While eating calmly, Euijae asked the person sitting in front of him.
“What was your major again?”
“It’s Law, Hyung. You are Computer Engineering, right?”
“.. Yeah.”
Yes, even if it doesn’t look convincing, Cha Euijae managed to enter a highly competitive major.
Euijae looked at Sayoung’s face. They only knew each other for about two weeks, and Euijae already heard many kinds of rumors about Lee Sayoung. Most of them are about his bad personality.
This kid, he is acting nice on purpose in front of me, right?
Hearing all those rumors about Lee Sayoung and connecting it with his major. Honestly, Euijae feel like Sayoung is the type of person who would misuse the law if needed.
… Hopefully not.
Time passed so fast, it’s been around 6 months since his first meeting with Lee Sayoung.
All kinds of things already happened to Euijae. A bouquet every week, being invited to eat together (Euijae didn’t refuse—who would refuse free food?), weekend “dates” with excuse of helping set up a PC in the apartment, and… sudden love confessions.
It always shocked Euijae, and in the end he rejected him with the reason that he want to focus on studying.
The love questions became more often as time passed. Until Euijae rejected Sayoung without giving any reason anymore.
Now the calendar shows it’s the last week of this month.
That means! Hell week for students, who need money for food and assignments. They need to save until the month change.
It was already dark, Euijae with a tired face walked back to the dorm.
'Dad can’t send money next month, and I’m not working part-time now…’
Should he borrow money from Hong Yeseong? That brat, if you praise him a little he is very easy to persuade.
Screech..
Euijae lowered his head, it seems he stepped on something.
“…!!”
On the dim street, Euijae knelt down and picked up that bill.
‘R-real money?!’
Oh, really, did the Goddess of Luck actually not leave him yet?
But… what if the owner of this money is in the same situation as Euijae? What if they are desperately looking for this 50,000 won bill?
His gaze shifted a little, there are several other 50,000 won bills lying in line on the road.
Uh, does this person’s wallet have a hole?
With the intention to return this money to the owner (hopefully the person would be grateful and give a little to Euijae—of course that’s just empty hope), Euijae started to follow the money and picked them one by one.
When it reached around 25 bills, the money led him to a tall young man standing in the middle of a small park.
Under the dim light, the young man turned his body toward Euijae.
Euijae’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Lee Sayoung, who somehow looked more handsome and cool than usual, was holding a bouquet—no, a bouquet of money in his hand.
Euijae slowly straightened his body and stood up.
Since when did this annoying kid look so reliable?
Sayoung knelt in front of Euijae, presenting the money bouquet.
“Hyung, I like you. Will you be my boyfriend?”
“…”
At that moment, the logic inside Euijae’s head stopped working. Replaced with imaginary fireworks exploding loudly.
... Screw everything. From this moment, I like Lee Sayoung.
He accepted the money bouquet and pulled Sayoung’s arm so he stood up again. Holding both of Sayoung’s hands with overflowing happy expression.
“Of course, Sayoung-ah. Should we go on a date tomorrow?”
If counted in total, there are 225 sheets of 50,000 won bills.
