Work Text:
It was still morning at school, but you could already see a soccer match between kids. Despite being 8-year-olds, they have a lot of determination. Especially that young prodigy.
To everyone, Sae was a prodigy. To little Rin, he was the best big brother, even if there were times he couldn't protect him from Mama or Papa. But nii-chan doesn't know that.
He was watching his older brother play flawlessly, every move he made, every turn, every goal, everything Sae did was perfect.
Rin didn't have any friends because they think he's too "weird". He was a bit hurt cuz they thought that, but nii-chan said he'll stay with him forever so it's fine! Right..?
He was popped out of his little bubble when a girl approached him, one with sparkly yellow eyes and short black hair with pigtails. "Hiii!" She drew out the word.
The little boy was confused, why would someone approach him? Well, maybe they can be friends!
"My name is Ray! All the girls think I'm weird so I thought maybe boys are nicer! Can we be friends?" She started with a chippery tone, but it became a bit nervous at the last sentence.
He was abit taken aback, no one talked to him because he destroyed things for fun, but that's cuz they didn't understand! He doesn't know why though. "Uhm... my name is rin. Every one here thinks I'm weird too. I don't know why and they yell at me. Only nii-chan doesn't..." His voice was small, no one teaching him how to be braver.
Ray looks at him weirdly, but her expression changes. "If we're both weird, then we should stick together! My brothers and sisters are the only nice ones, and so is yours! We can be the bestest of friends!"
"Bestest of friends?.." He repeated as if it didn't make sense. "Yeah! Do you not want to?" She had a sad look when she said that.
"No! Let's be friends! I don't have any so it's weird.." in all truth, he's abit nervous. But it'll get better right?
Ray looks back at him. "Yea!!! Let's pinky promise to be the bestest of friends!" She held put her pinky to him. He pulled out his too. "Uhh, sure! Pinky promise!" The rays of sunlight making a circle around them, sealing the promise.
He doesn't know why, but this moment feels nostalgic, as if it has happened millions of times.
Somewhere in the shadows, you would see a tall person with long, dark blue hair and two-toned eyes, watching the little exchange between the two children. "Hmm.. it seems my children have met again." He said fondly. "Of course.. they are considered siblings after all." He gave a heartly chuckle.
They gave them one last look before leaving. They don't want to ruin their moment do they?
