Summary
One day, after an accident with a potion in class, Kalim loses his memories of Jamil. Jamil tries to deal with this the way he usually does, but the more time passes, the harder it becomes to blame the drastic changes in Kalim's behaviour on just the effects of a potion. He's become secretive, almost distant, yet much more bold and flirty than ever before. Kalim, despite his complete lack of trust in Jamil, is clearly very, very interested in him. The aura of power that surrounds Riddle has lain still until now, blending smoothly in with the roses of the dorm's garden. It rises now, thick and smothering, as if it could choke the life out of Malleus.
Malleus tips his head back, parts his lips, and inhales. Delicious. It has been an agony to share a campus with Riddle Rosehearts for years and not approach him. It had always been too risky before - Riddle too delicate, Malleus too distracted with his own internal struggles to give him the attention he deserves. But Riddle is calmer now, more stable, and Malleus' recent acquisitions have encouraged him to slow down.
Perhaps it is finally time to stop and smell the roses. And pluck them, if he can.
