Without You

Summary:

Regina George and Cady Heron have their last kiss.

Notes:

I wanted to get back into writing so I asked my friend, luthvers, for a prompt. She told me to write a last kiss, 800 words max. This is the result.

Chapter 1: Last Kiss

Chapter Text

Regina regrets not being selfish so badly right now. She hates this. She should have just told Cady not to do this. She should have threatened her to break up if she did. She should have gone back to her old ways and manipulated Cady into not wanting to do this. But Cady is hard to manipulate and Regina also doesn't want to do that to her. She has never loved anyone as much as Cady. That's why she couldn't tell her no, couldn't beg her not to do this, couldn't be selfish.

“Regina, I'm going to miss my flight if you don't let me go now,” Cady tells her.

But Regina doesn't want to let go. Six months is so long. Too long. She holds Cady tighter, as if she could melt into her if she just got close enough. She takes in Cady's scent as deeply as she can, brushes through her hair, takes all of Cady in as deeply as she can.

“Gi, I really need to leave now.”

Regina lets go. Not completely. Just enough to look at her girlfriend. Holding her small, warm, soft hands tightly.

“I'm so proud of you.”

It makes Cady smile. Only now does Regina notice the tears in Cady's eyes too.

“I'm proud of you too. Win that case. Destroy that awful man. I know you can do this.”

“I will,” Regina promises. The case she's on right now is the toughest she's ever had. And it's the most she ever felt the need to win. So she just couldn't come with Cady this time. She couldn't leave her client with other people.

“And you'll show those dumb Oxford people how to do proper math, yeah?”

Cady nods, tears now actually falling down her cheeks.

“They call it maths there.”

It makes them both chuckle.

“I'll miss you,” Cady's voice cracks.

“I'll miss you too, so much.” Regina's voice doesn't sound any less in pain.

She leans over one last time, taking in all of Cady. Her soft lips that fit perfectly onto hers. The feeling of their lipsticks becoming one. The way it feels leaning down towards Cady while she gets on her tiptoes. She's going to miss this so much.

“I really need to leave.”

“I know.”

Regina lets go of Cady's hands so her girlfriend can get through to security while Regina waits in front of the gates.

“I love you, Cady Heron!”

“I love you too, Regina George.”
