Summary:

Raiden Ei worships Yae Miko in the Plane of Euthymia, all while the threat of the undead persists around them.

Notes:

If I'd died willing, you'd have taken it nice
If sewn rocks into a dress, gone with grace into a lake.

Work Text:

Raiden Ei is a beast. She is a fierce storm, all unstoppable wind and sure lightning. A tornado of thoughts and feelings and pure will, who will stop at nothing to ensure the longevity of her people and home.

Her mind was something she could sacrifice. Her body, easily forgone. People, nations, they could be remade.

All could fall if it meant her dear Inazuma stays.

And in all her godly insight, with all her strength and millennia of experience, she never would have thought,

that the dead would be their downfall.

A low hum fills the Plane of Euthymia. Soft steps and the rustle of leaves accompany it, creating a harmony unique to Raiden Ei and her lovely Yae Miko.

The two women are pressed chest to chest, hand in hand as they dance through the falling blossoms to the rhythm of Ei’s melody. Each dip and sway is methodical yet natural, their bodies moving as one with a grace that only accompanies lovers.

A pale hand adorned in velvet polish trails upwards, skimming past a perfect waist and plump breasts to frame an even more immaculate face. Ei cradles Yae Miko’s cheek like it means the world to her, rivaling the importance of all she has ever fought for, whether it be Inazuma, Makoto, or her divine seat.

Because, truly, what can compare to those lips? Those sly eyes and straight nose, with high cheek bones and the hair of an angel draped in pink?

The answer is nothing.

Ei releases Yae into a twirl, the other woman dipping down into the soft floor of petals and sand beneath them. She follows, blanketing her lover, bodies pressed together in a gentle embrace.

“You look ethereal.” Ei whispers, leaning in to press a kiss to Yae’s lips. The softness of them has her drowning and she can’t help but be greedy, staying there until they’re both gasping for breath.

She pulls back with a smile. “My delightful Yae Miko, oh..”

A familiar feeling bubbles up inside of her chest, curling around her heart so tight it strains. Giddiness, an emotion that Ei finds herself experiencing only when she’s with her Yae Miko. It’s a light that she hadn’t experienced nor expected for the longest time– Ei spent a millennia in the darkness of war and loss, so long that her heart did not know how to bathe in the bright parts of life anymore.

Until a narrow-eyed fox came and swatted away all that pitch blackness of her heart, opening it up to the light again.

Sometimes Ei doesn’t know how to handle all the emotions swimming around inside of her. It’s overwhelming, her love for Yae Miko, and she finds herself experiencing such an all-encompassing attraction as their gazes meet.

Purple and pink clash together, both brimming with so much love. Yae reaches out with both hands, finding Ei’s neck and pulling her downwards. She follows willingly, a soft gasp escaping her lips as her Yae begins to leave kisses and love bites against her face. Each nibble is rewarded with a lick afterwards, soothing, rewarding, the sharp pain.

“Yae..” Ei murmurs, turning her head to the side and bearing her neck for her lover, who quickly acquiesces, delving into to the sensitive skin.

The bites grow harder, more needy. They border on painful and Ei has to remind herself that Yae Miko is a playful woman.

She laughs, her hand coming up to press against the side of Yae’s gnawing jaw. “My dear, slow yourself. We have all the time in the world, especially here.”

Ei pulls away, but she does not stray far– their thighs are still touching, their hands are still entwined. The lightning goddess has withstood wars spanning centuries, but a single moment spent away from her lover is far too long.

As Yae follows her upwards, lips finding Ei’s palm to kiss, she believes that this must be true love.

True, romantic love that Ei has always witnessed but has never experienced herself. Many partners have come and gone, as fleeting as a blossom in the wind. They offer temporary reprieve and pleasure, yes, but Ei has to think– have they ever offered giddiness? A purpose beyond sex? That funny feeling in her stomach upon seeing them?

No, no– none of her past conquests can compare to Yae Miko, nor is she simply a ‘conquest’ to Ei.

She is serenity embodied. Beauty, grace, sexuality all in one.

She is a fantasy written into flesh. A perfect being that encompasses all of her wants and needs in a partner. Her familiar, made just for her.

“You are my other half.” Ei whispers as she places a hand at her heart. It beats still, despite the constant conflict and loss, because of her dearest Inazuma and even dearer Yae Miko. “You have replaced every single ache in my soul with breeming love, do you realize that, my Yae?”

The two of them lock eyes. Yae is smiling softly as she reaches out to caress Ei’s face. Her touch is warm and welcoming, a gentle contrast to the cool wind inside the Plane of Euthymia. It sends a chill down her spine and she can’t help but lean into the touch, mirroring Yae’s smile.

Long nails trace down her jaw, her chin, and up to her lips. Ei can’t help but grin, “Yae?”

Yae bows her head. “Ei..”

That voice sends a jolt through her body. It’s everything she yearns for, longs for, in one simple word. She would do anything to keep hearing it.

“Oh, yes, my dear?” Ei leans in, cupping Yae’s hand.

Ei doesn’t stop Yae Miko as she launches forward, broken teeth embedding themselves into her cheek. The pain is numb, overwhelmed by her love for the woman in front of her. It’s nothing, no– the sensation of having her flesh ripped from bone is nowhere near as powerful.

She lifts a chewed out, purpling arm, her hand petting Yae’s hair. Its dirtied and knotted; Ei has tried, spent hours each day, trying to keep it clean, and even as it seems impossible now,

Ei will never stop trying.

She will never stop trying for her Yae Miko.

“Ei..” The undead groans between hungry bites.

“Shh, shh..” Ei moves to cup Yae Miko’s head, pulling her closer.

The bones in her jaw give out under the desperate tearing of flesh. It falls, still attached on her right side, dangling in the air between them. Golden ichor splatters onto their thighs and seeps into the purple sand of the Plane of Euthymia,

The entirety of Raiden Ei’s body is a purple, bloody mess of rotting skin and chewed meat. One eye remains while the other is embedded in Yae’s gut– her legs are sinew curled around bone, lacking flesh. Veins hang in empty air, as do her guts from her torn open stomach.

And yet, Ei could not be happier.

She gets to spend an eternity, here in the Plane of Euthymia, with her beloved. Through death and undeath, they will be here. Forever.

“You’re beautiful.” Ei whispers, trailing a skeletal hand down Yae’s rotted, hollow face. “And you’re–.”

There’s a loud tear as Yae rips out Ei’s vocal cords, yanking the muscle clean out of her throat.

“Mine,” comes her final word as a gurgle.
