"Oy, what a mess!" Violett declared, looking around the room. "Her Majesty will not be pleased to see what the little princess has done!"

"Her Majesty will not see it," Gruen replied. "We have enough magic to fight dragons. We can clean this nursery quickly!"

"But how do we keep the little princess from doing it again?" Blau wondered. "A baby cannot be trained to control its magic!"

"One task at a time, my sisters-in-arms," Violett decided. "Wands up!" They lifted their wands and chanted an organization spell together.

"Would it be wise to inform Her Majesty of what happened and how we responded?" Gruen pondered. "She does not like secrets."

"But how might she react to the news that someone else has great magic?" Blau pointed out. "Surely the little princess's magic will grow with her, overpowering us in a matter of years!"

The three ladies exchanged glances to silently communicate the possibility that the little princess could someday rival the Queen of the Night in magic.

"We must tell Her Majesty," Violett said. "If we kept it a secret, she would no doubt find out anyway and realize our deception."

"Her Majesty might want it controlled," Gruen mused. "We should prepare something that will stop the little princess from using her magic until she is old enough to control it."

"An excellent plan," Blau decided. "We can enchant all of the little princess's clothing to absorb the magic before it escapes her."

They lifted their wands, chanted a very strong magic-stopping spell together, and went to find the Queen of the Night.

Notes:

Image comes from this review of The Magic Flute produced by Opera San José in 2024. The Three Ladies were portrayed by Maria Brea, Mariya Kaganskaya, and Melisa Bonetti Luna; Tamino (lying) was portrayed by Sergio González as Tamino (lying). I chose the Hebrew word as a translation of "Bis ich dich wieder seh'" from the end of this scene.
