“So.. Whatcha wanna do today?”, Curly said, slinging his arm around Ponyboy’s shoulder, tugging and spinning him around.
Pony knocked him off with an “Ow, Curly!”, trying to fix his hair that had been blown around, and answered, “I dunno, wanna see a movie?”
“Well that don't start till 7:00, so we got all day to kill,” Curly spun around to walk backwards, “So what other than that?”
Pony thought for a moment, “What if we check out that new bookstore on main?”
“Naww, let's try to get into whiskers.”
“The nightclub? Hell no. Dar’ would skin me and make me into a new coat.” Pony grimaced, suggesting again, “Are you sure you can’t handle being near books for a bit? I know you can’t read and all, but I'm sure you'll find something.”
“Drop dead” Curly rolled his eyes.
“Don’t get bent out of shape man, everybody likes to read a book once in a while. Even no good hoods like you!” He said
“Aw c’mon, why don’t we go to lunch or somethin’? Or smoke for a bit, don’t you love that?” Ponyboy whacked him on the back of the head, Curly whining dramatically at it.
“Good lord, you’re fine.”
“No I’m not!! You broke my neck, I got whiplash!!” Curly clutched the back of his neck, falling to the ground like a kid throwing a fit.
Pony just stared him down until he groaned and got back up.
They started back on their way, eventually deciding to get a soda and bother some waitresses at The Dingo.
