Trapped But Not Alone

Summary:

Despite being quirkless, Izuku does not flee when he gets caught in the middle of a villain fight with the number one hero himself, Hawks. Instead Izuku stays to evacuate others before himself. Unfortunately... Or perhaps fortunately, this leads to a rather unexpected encounter.

“So, you want the good news or the bad news?” Hawks asked.

“Um, the bad news?” Izuku said.

“We'll be here for many hours,” Hawks said. “We're buried under a lot of concrete and there are a lot of people to rescue. They're flying Uravity in from our prefecture but even with her help it's going to take a long time to get to us and we're on the bottom floor. Plus, being stuck with a hero, we're not top priority.”

“That's okay,” Izuku said quickly. “I don't mind. Other people are probably really scared. They should definitely be rescued first.”

“So, um, what's the good news?”

“You get to spend all that time with me,” Hawks said cheerily.

Izuku chuckled awkwardly as his heart rate spiked. Hours with Hawks… He was going to make such a fool of himself.

Work Text:

Izuku walked along the row of cars, bent over, chalk in hand, putting little dashes along the tires. One by one, till he came across a tire already marked. He straightened, stretched out his back where it ached slightly from walking and pulled out his phone. His work app was already open. He scanned the license plate.

Expired.

Oof, only five minutes late. He glanced around the underground parking lot. A mom and her four kids were pushing a cart of shopping along, talking animatedly but they weren't headed to this car. A teenage guy had a girl hemmed in at the hood of their car, she was smiling and flushed from the flirting, fiddling at her scarf looking slightly coy. A haranged looking father was trying to wrestle a baby into a car seat and the baby was not having it, its tiny screams echoing uselessly off the cement walls and ceiling.

The lot was busy. It was a weekend before a holiday and everyone was shopping, cars drove by at a slow steady pace as they circled the garage for spots. Spiraling down the floors, but this was the bottom floor and there was still nothing.

He gave another look around, wanting to give the owner a chance to show up a bit late, but seeing no sign of them he gave up.

He sighed and pulled out a little ream of tickets. He wrote down the time, date and license plate and stuck the ticket under the windshield wiper of the car. Then he stepped back and took a picture of the car and license plate in his work app to record it.

“Oh, it's almost new year, give them a break,” an older woman grumbled as she walked by. Izuku bowed his head.

He was just doing his job.

He bent down again, putting his phone away and pulling out his chalk to continue walking along.

Dash. Dash. Dash. Dash.

BOOM

The whole garage shook, a little bit of cement trickling down from the ceiling as a few car alarms started blaring. Everyone stopped to look around.

Izuku straightened.

That hadn't been an earthquake. That was solidly an explosion.

There was a sudden flurry of activity as the people intending to depart started speeding up their process.

“Help me put these in the back!” He heard the mon snap at her kids, the older two immediately jumping into action while the youngest clung to her mothers leg. The baby's crying increased in pitch as the father seemed to have abandoned cajoling it and just started forcing it into place.

The shopping center had a lot of security but it was also a heavily populated area. It wasn't unheard of for villains just trying to make the news to attack, although rare.

Izuku wasn't sure what to do. He felt a sinking sort of certainty that if he abandoned post he'd be fired. They'd been looking for a reason since they found out he was quirkless. A reason that didn't entirely look like discrimination.

He stood and rocked uselessly on his feet in indecision as the parking area started to gridlock from people panicking about getting out and trying to back out and then blocking the way. He bit his lip, and then decided directing traffic could be considered part of his job and it wasn't really right to leave when all these people were stuck in their cars down here.

So he jogged up the ramp a bit and started helping to direct a car blocking the way and stop the impatient traffic behind them that was making it worse. Then he jogged down to the intersection to start directing people to merge in so traffic could keep flowing.

BOOM! BOOM!

The floor and ceiling shook and the sound, though distantly up above them, sounded vaguely closer. One of the cars stopped for the explosion and the car behind them didn't. It ran right into them with a nasty crunching noise.

The front driver opened his door to get out and Izuku ran up to him.

“No! No! Don't get out, you need to keep going,” Izuku insisted as he approached.

“He hit me!” The man said.

“Both of your cars will drive, resolve it once you're out,” Izuku said.

“I can't afford it if he drives off,” the man said.

“I'll take a picture and send it as a parking report,” Izuku said, pulling out his phone. “Please get back in your car.”

The man eyed him for a second, before nodding and getting back in. Izuku backed up and took a few pictures very quickly and then waved them on.

Luckily both cars did still run, just their bumpers smashed. The back driver had a hand on their face in mortification, covering everything but their eyes as they drove.

It took a little bit to get the traffic flowing again, as Izuku ran around trying to direct people trying to back out with their cars. Most of the drivers were the ones who had just gotten here, looking for spaces, trapping the existing shoppers into their spots as they now rushed to leave, bumper to bumper.

Then, despite all his efforts, traffic stopped.

BOOM!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The intensity of the shaking knocked Izuku off his feet as he fell into a parked car, its alarm already blaring in the general cacophony. His eyes widened in horror as he watched the cement pillar two spaces over crumble. First huge cracks snacking up its surface, before it just broke apart.

It felt like he watched it in slow motion but even as he tried to push himself up to his feet, he recognized he couldn't move fast enough. His brain was running on adrenaline and his body felt sluggish as it lagged behind.

The cement ceiling being held by the pillar collapsed down, huge chunks falling in great crashes around him. Then suddenly he was being yanked out of the way by his own shirt, the collar of his tee strangling him uncomfortably and he watched as a flurry of red feathers came descending into the space. One had clearly hooked itself in the back of his shirt to move him out of the way.

His shirt, unfortunately, couldn't survive the ordeal. It was old and threadbare, and it tore apart from the pinpointed pull. Izuku dropped out of the air, hitting the cement and skidding painfully across it.

He was still facing the hole in the ceiling, and watched as cars began sliding through it, falling down onto the ones below them. One landing exactly where he'd been. Then there was a very close explosion and Hawks came pelting down, not flying of his own power but clearly thrown hard. He flared his wings at the last second and just barely managed to avoid getting smashed into another pillar.

Izuku could feel the wind from his huge wings buffeting him.

They were huge. Much bigger in person than they often appeared on TV. Also a darker red than Izuku expected. Hawks was wearing his fur lined jacket, cargo pants and flight suit that contoured with his body, hiding nothing. Izuku stared as he took the hero in.

Hawks didn't look particularly perturbed, his goggles weren't on and he took a moment to wink at Izuku before launching himself one floor back up into whatever fight was happening there. A flurry of feathers flew down to evacuate people. Diving into their shirts to use as a way to carry them, even opening car doors to get people out of their cars. Izuku could hardly imagine the coordination it must take Hawks to do it all.

Another feather came down and tried to carry Izuku off, but the entire back of his shirt was ripped and there was nothing for it to get purchase on. It flitted about uselessly.

“Don't worry about me,” Izuku told the feather. “Just focus on the fight or rescuing others. I'll be okay.”

He knew Hawks could hear through each feather although the hundreds of car alarms were probably making that hell right about now. Still, he wasn't the number one hero for nothing.

Izuku looked around, taking stock of the situation when he froze. That car, the smashed one near the pit, had been the one with the father and baby. He was sure of it.

He got to his feet immediately and ran over to it in a panic, terrified of what he'd find inside. The wails of the baby hit him like a wave of relief as he rushed to the door. The roof of the car was crushed in by cement and another car was leaned upside down against the drivers side.

Izuku wrenched at the smashed car door uselessly but it didn't open. The window opening was small and covered in jagged glass shards. He frowned at it before pulling off his ripped up shirt and wrapping it around his forearm to use as protection then used his bundled arm to clear out all the glass.

“Sir? Sir? Are you alive in there? Please be okay?” Izuku called in as he pushed his head and upper body through the window. The collapsed roof meant he couldn't get a view of the driver's seat from where he was but his first priority was the baby.

The driver groaned and Izuku breathed a sigh of relief as he reached over the car seat to unbuckle the baby. It was teeny tiny, definitely only a few months old. Its skin tinted purple for how hard it was crying as it flailed its arms uselessly.

Izuku's hands shook from adrenaline as he unclipped the buckles, and tried to fish the wiggling screaming baby out. He'd never held a baby and he was terrified of hurting it but he could hear how close the fight was so he worked as quickly as he could anyways. He was about to pull them both back through the window when he spotted a baby blanket in the passenger seat. With a thought he grabbed that too then carefully retreated out the window, feeling like he was playing a high stakes operation game getting the wiggling baby through the broken glass.

Once out, he dropped to the ground, shook out the baby blanket with one hand and laid it down. He put the baby on it and tied the blanket edges in tight knots, like a hobos bandana, with the baby cradled inside.

“Hawks! Baby here!” Izuku called. It turned out the feather hadn't actually left his side and he grabbed it and stuck it so that it could carry the bundle. The baby and blanket immediately went zooming down the path towards the exit stairwell.

Izuku then rushed to the front passenger door to look in. The driver was slumped sideways towards the passenger seat, his head bleeding. He was sort of sluggishly pressing on his seatbelt buckle, clearly completely out of it.

Izuku started to repeat the maneuver for clearing the window but stopped. He couldn't fit the man through the window like he could the baby. So instead he grabbed the door handle and yanked hard. When nothing happened he went as far as putting his feet against the car frame and using his whole body to pull the door. It groaned and then gave and Izuku went tumbling to the ground, before scrambling to his feet to get inside.

He reached over and unbuckled the man, before helping to heave him over. It took a bit of time to get him across the seats and out the door.

The man could stand, barely, and blinked unfocused at Izuku.

“Come on, lets get you out,” Izuku said.

“Isuke, Isuke, my baby,” the man said, stumbling to the backseat.

“Already safe,” Izuku said. “Hawks evacuated your baby.”

“Hawks?”

“Yes, come on, Isuke is this way,” Izuku said, pointing towards the stairwell exit. The man scrunched his face like he was trying to regain thoughts before nodding and stumbling in that direction.

Two feathers came zooming down. One grabbed the man by his shirt, much newer and nicer than Izuku's, and yanked him towards the stairs. The other fluttered frantically in front of Izuku so he grabbed it with his hand and was lurched suddenly off his feet.

Not a second two soon as there was another, now earsplitting explosion, and more of the ceiling caved in where they'd been standing.

Izuku was about half way to the stairs, when he spotted someone cowering underneath their car and he let go of the feather. Which immediately stopped and seemed to buzz around him angrily.

Izuku dropped down and found a teenaged girl crying and covering her ears where she huddled.

“Come on, we have to get out,” Izuku said.

“My mom has the keys!” The girl cried. “I can't drive! She's still shopping!”

“I’m sure your mom is fine,” Izuku said to this. It was clear the girl was panicking. “You couldn't drive out anyways. Come on, Hawks is here to get you out.”

“Hawks?” The girl said, looking up hopefully.

“That's right, so you'll be okay now,” Izuku said, giving her what was undoubtedly a horrible wobbly smile as his whole body shook from adrenaline and nerves. “Come on out.”

The girl nodded and crawled out of the car. The second she was clear of the tires, the feather with Izuku swooped down to grab her and she went, screaming, towards the stairs at top pace.

A second later Hawks himself came hurtling through the ceiling off to Izuku's right. He didn't come crashing through a hole in the ceiling but through an intact section. Cement rained down as he crunched into the ground, groaning. A water pipe ran through the burst ceiling and water came pouring down on top of him.

Hawks just lay there for a moment, breathing hard, his eyes closed in concentration or pain. He had barely any feathers now. The great wings Izuku saw before were reduced to a scraggled outline. Likely gone mostly to evacuating so many people.

Another explosion sounded and more of the roof caved in, a car started slowly falling through, heading right for Hawks. Izuku began running in that direction but he knew he was too far away. He wouldn't get there in time and it was stupid to interfere with a Hero fighting but it wasn't like he thought about running.

He just did.

Hawks batted his scraggly wings suddenly and shot out of the way faster than Izuku could really comprehend. The flight hero, eyes still closed, made it all the way to the far wall in the blink of an eye. He landed on one knee, his arm braced against the other as he took a few breaths, then straightened and looked up at the hole in the ceiling. A few of his remaining feathers went darting out and flew up through the opening.

He looked more bird-like than Izuku had ever seen him on TV. His golden eyes stared fixedly and inhumanly on the hole on the ceiling, presumably towards the villain. His pupils fluctuating in dilation rapidly, with his head slightly cawked. His golden hair darkened and slicked back from the water.

He looked… scary.

Then he seemed to notice Izuku and his expression changed instantly, becoming suddenly a relaxed, normal person, no bird in sight. He winked at Izuku again, a crooked, cawky sort of grin on his face. Then he turned to shoot himself up towards the hole and back into the fight but he only got half way there before the ceiling collapsed next to him and a hulking villain came crashing down through it.

The giant, muscled figure had two huge cannons growing right out of his shoulders. The villain dropped to all fours, pointed his shoulder cannons, and fired.

The sound was deafening.

Izuku's ears rang as he felt the concussive blast of it hit him in a hot, pushing wave. The blasts shot through two support pillars as Hawks barely managed to dodge out of the way, throwing himself so that he was now only a few feet from Izuku.

The Hero was clearly also feeling the sheer volume of sound as he shook his head as if to clear it.

Izuku couldn't imagine how horrible it would be with enhanced hearing and hundreds of extra sensory inputs. Although at this point it didn't look like hundreds. Hawks seemed to be down to something like tens of feathers.

The villain, however, didn't seem like he had much of a cooldown as he turned and shot towards both of them again.

Izuku, without really thinking about it, dived and tackled Hawks out of the way, slamming them both into one of the huge concrete pillars as the cannon balls blasted where they'd been. The floor and pillar shook horribly with the shot and the ceiling continued its now accelerated collapse around them.

A huge chunk came cracking down and Izuku closed his eyes as he tried to use his body, more instinctively than intentionally, to shield Hawks from it. Not that it would do any good, it would crush them both.

After a second, Izuku realized he was still alive.

He blinked his eyes open but it did him no good. It was just as dark as if they were closed.

The giant cement slab had fallen at an angle, leaning against the pillar and hemming them into a tight cave. Izuku tried to sit up off of Hawks and immediately hit cement, preventing him from doing so.

“Well this is exciting,” Hawks said jovially from underneath him, as if nothing much was amiss.

“I'm so sorry!” Izuku babbled immediately. “I shouldn't have interfered, I'm really-”

“Shhh,” Hawks said, putting a finger against Izuku's lips to quiet him. “I need to concentrate.”

Izuku shut up immediately, clamping his mouth closed.

Izuku could feel feathers moving about the cramped space around him in the dark.

“Oh… well…” Hawks hummed.

Izuku couldn't see his expression, but he sounded sort of grimly amused. Although Hawks always sounded just a bit amused, in all of the many many clips Izuku had seen of him.

He'd never seen him fight in person though, despite being number one hero and covering most of Japan, he still did most of his work in his home prefecture and surrounding areas, which was far south of Izuku.

He'd certainly never been this close to a Hero before, unless he counted that time he'd almost grabbed onto All Might’s leg but missed or when he was school age with Kacchan. Or his disaster of a U.A. entrance exam.

He could feel the wet fur lining of Hawk's jacket against his bare, shirtless skin, and Hawk's flight suit did nothing to cover the hard contours of his muscles under Izuku. The Hero's breathing was steady and intentional as he was clearly concentrating on what was probably still hundreds of feathers still evacuating people or maybe even fighting the villain.

Izuku didn't hear any more explosions.

He had to bite his lip to keep himself from beginning to mutter as his thoughts began to fill back up with a mile a minute speculation about Hawks’ quirk and their situation. He struggled to keep his breathing steady and quiet in the dark, pinching his eyes closed even though it changed nothing about what he saw.

The minutes ticked by.

The space filled with the sound of their breathing. Steady.

There weren't any car alarm sounds anymore, Izuku noticed. There wasn't much of any sounds. Just Hawks steady, concentrated breathing.

“Okay,” Hawks said cheerily after so long that Izuku jumped in surprise and smacked his head on the cement inches above him.

“Ouch,” Izuku said. He tried to reach a hand up to rub it but that put his weight more into Hawks so he immediately replaced it on the ground.

“Sorry,” Hawks chuckled. “So, you want the good news or the bad news?”

“You're not scared?” Hawks asked curiously.

Izuku shrugged.

“Do we have enough oxygen?” Izuku asked.

“If I said we didn't?” Hawks asked, sounding light-hearted and not at all concerned.

Izuku shrugged again, knowing Hawks could feel it with how close they were.

“Then you should kill me,” Izuku said.

“What?” Hawks squawked in surprise.

“It's much more important that you live,” Izuku rationalized, even as his heart raced. “I don't want to die, but you're the number one hero. It would be horrible to lose you.”

“Well, okay, morbid,” Hawks said. “Fortunately there are enough cracks I could get feathers through. It's going to feel very stale but we have oxygen.”

“Oh,” Izuku said, flushing slightly in embarrassment and glad Hawks couldn't see. “So, um, what's the good news?”

“You get to spend all that time with me,” Hawks said cheerily.

Izuku chuckled awkwardly as his heart rate spiked. Hours with Hawks… He was going to make such a fool of himself.

“Not good news?” Hawks said, with a mock pout.

“No! No! It is! I love you! Um! I mean! I love you as a hero. I love heroes! Oh my god, I've already ruined it,” Izuku said, he flopped his head down on habit and then realized he'd flopped it into Hawk's chest, so he squeaked and launched it back up and smacked his head into the concrete above him again. “Ouch! Sorry! I'm sorry!”

“Relax kid,” Hawks chuckled. “I don't bite. Unless you're into that.”

“Sorry, sorry,” Izuku apologized again. “I'm not a kid though, I look young but I'm only six years younger than you. I'm twenty two, same age you were when you made number two hero.”

“Font of trivia,” Hawks teased. “I guess I'll have to ask you questions while we wait, since you already know all about me.”

“Oh, sorry, that's weird, sorry,” Izuku babbled uselessly.

“Hey, chill,” Hawks said, breathing out a breath that inherently made Izuku do the same. Hawks reached up and grabbed Izuku's hips, which mostly just made Izuku aware that his groin was pressed directly into Hawks from where he was squashed on top of him.

An erection would be so awkward, but just thinking that made him recognize that he was smashed into the hottest hero alive. Except for maybe Kacchan.

“You were the one resisting evacuation right?” Hawks asked conversationally.

“Oh, sorry, my shirt tore,” Izuku said.

“Yes, given you aren't wearing a shirt,” Hawks laughed. “I gathered. You fished that baby out of the car. The blasts and alarms meant I missed a lot of people. Much more than normal. So I'm not complaining about the help.”

“Except I pinned you!” Izuku said.

“Nah, probably saved my life honestly,” Hawks said. “That last blast brought the whole place down and we're five stories under. If I'd dodged somewhere else, I’d be a pancake. Not that I'm endorsing getting into hero fights.”

“Yes, right, I mean, I know to stay behind the tape,” Izuku said.

“Hero chaser?” Hawks asked.

“Um… a bit,” Izuku flushed.

“Why aren't you a dispatcher?” Hawks asked. “Have you considered it? You're very cool under pressure.”

“Oh, no no, I'm not- they wouldn't hire someone like me,” Izuku said. “And I'm not very eloquent.”

“Someone like you?”

“I'm quirkless!” Izuku blurted, and then immediately regretted it. “It's not contagious! I swear! You're safe!”

“Hey, hey,” Hawks said. “I know it's not contagious. That shouldn't bar you from being a dispatcher, you don't need a quirk.”

Izuku gave a humorless laugh at that, before realizing he'd done so and apologizing again.

“No, you're right,” Hawks sighed. “I should know better. You experience a lot of discrimination I'm guessing?”

“Um… yeah, I guess,” Izuku said. “It's fine.”

“Hmm,” Hawks said. There was silence after that and, despite how awkward he was feeling, it brought Izuku's awareness back to his body.

Hawks still had his hands on his hips. His fingerless gloves were made up of some grippy material that Izuku could feel on the bare skin above his pants and the tips of Hawks’ fingers touched his skin directly. He felt hot and flushed from the contact.

His stomach was pressed into Hawks’ where he could feel Hawks’ abs and breathing. Most of Izuku's weight not in his hands was in his groin, pressed directly into Hawks. He could feel Hawks' breath against his neck from how close they were and no matter how much he tried to will it down, he could feel himself getting hard from it all. He tried to shift his hips up so that he was on his hands and knees but the cement was too close. He hit it with his butt and then collapsed back down.

“Hey, best not move too much,” Hawks said. “Should be pretty solidly trapped as is, but don't really want to tempt fate, yeah?”

“Sorry,” Izuku said in mortification.

“Heh,” Hawks chuckled, grinding his hips up into Izuku and making him squeak. “This? Come on, I'd be offended if you didn't. I mean, this close to me? It's inevitable.”

Hawks said it in a teasing, blasé voice but Izuku could tell he was just trying to make him feel better.

“I won't do anything,” Izuku said. “Promise- um, I mean, not that you couldn't defend yourself, or have to be worried about the likes of me, or anything. Oh god, I'll shut up.”

“You know,” Hawks said, a teasing lilt in his voice. “I can think of some fun ways to pass the time. I'm, legally, not allowed to kiss you, that would be inappropriate, but you're allowed to kiss me.”

“I wouldn't-”

“What's your name, not-kid?” Hawks asked.

“Huh? Oh! Midoriya Izuku,” Izuku said.

“Izuku,” Hawks purred, he grabbed Izuku's hips more firmly. “Are you gay?”

“Yes, well, bisexual I think, but that doesn't-”

“You're hopeless,” Hawks chucked lightly, and Izuku could feel him relax back against the pillar more.

“Huh?’ Izuku spluttered.

“I'm not worried you'll molest me,” Hawks said. “I'm worried I'll die of boredom because you won't."

“Huh?”

“Relax,” Hawks said. “You wont be able to keep weight in your arms like that for the length of time we'll be here. Just lay against me and relax. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not going to judge you. I'm just teasing.”

“I don't think you're going to hurt me,” Izuku mumbled as he slowly let his weight down onto Hawks. He could feel his heart rate spiking, pounding in his ears and against his ribs, as he lowered himself down so he was completely flush with Hawks hard body.

It was a relief to roll out his wrists, which did already hurt some from the lengthy time on them.

Hawks actually wrapped his arms around Izuku's lower back to hold him in place and it was startlingly like a hug. It just made Izuku's heart pound harder.

“See, isn't that better?” Hawks said lightly.

“You're- you're sure this is okay?” Izuku asked in a squeaky whisper. Hawks chuckled at the squeak.

“Yes, much more comfortable,” Hawks said.

They lapsed into silence again and Izuku slowly put more and more weight into Hawks as he stopped tensing up. His cheek rested against Hawks collarbone, chest to chest, stomach to stomach, groin to groin, their legs tangled together.

It was so nice.

It was also mortifying.

Izuku couldn't hear Hawks' heartbeat because of the wild pounding of his own. His stomach churned and fluttered with butterflies for being so close. He was hyper aware of every point of contact, of the fact that his lips were inches from Hawks neck and that Hawks could undoubtedly feel his breath there.

Hawks seemed calm and relaxed. Unpurturbed.

Then Izuku's brain sort of caught up.

I can't kiss you, but you can kiss me.

Was that… was that permission? A request? A tease? A casual statement of hero conduct facts?

Suddenly it was even harder to breath as Izuku was even more aware of his breath and lips close to Hawks’ neck. Of his even further growing erection pressing down into Hawks'... Erection? Was Hawks' hard. It kinda felt like it. His pants were thick but…

Izuku tried to shift subtly so that he could move his groin across Hawks in order to see. He tried to make it just seem like shifting for comfort as he moved his legs and slid sideways slightly.

Okay.

Wow.

Hawks was definitely aroused.

“Yep,” Hawks said. “Kinda hard not to be.”

“Oh no, I said that outloud?” Izuku spluttered.

“Yep,” Hawks said. “You mutter a lot.”

Izuku just squeaked in mortification, turning his head to hide it against Hawks' flight shirt and collarbone. He could feel Hawks' chuckle under him and feel the huff of breath against his ear.

“Wh-what are you thinking about?” Izuku asked loudly against the pounding in his ears.

“Are you sure you're not a kid?” Hawks teased. “Is that the foreplay you used on your last date?”

Izuku flushed. He bit his lip to resist telling Hawks he'd never had a date. He didn't need him to know exactly how pathetic he was.

This was the first hug he'd received outside of his mother, except for the occasional visit to Kacchan’s parents when Kacchan wasn't around. Kacchan had gotten even bigger and scarier since middle school and Izuku tried to avoid running into him entirely.

Wait… last date?

Was he teasing? Did he actually mean…?

Izuku's stomach swooped at the thought, his whole body hot.

He picked up his head and tilted it closer to Hawks'. Only to realize Hawks had tilted his head to face Izuku as their noses brushed together.

Izuku pulled back slightly in surprise, Then, after two shuddering breaths, he leaned slowly back in and brushed his nose with Hawks.

Hawks didn't pull away.

Izuku's breath caught and his stomach fluttered wildly as he stayed there, lips hovering just a fraction away from Hawks' as their noses brushed together. Hawks’ arms wrapped around him.

His throat was tight and almost tingling.

He couldn't actually… Hawks wouldn't actually want…

But he wasn't pulling away.

Izuku took a fortifying breath to try to get the courage to close the gap, feeling their noses brushing and their breath mingling.

He had to take another breath before he dipped just a tiny bit closer, so that his lips just barely brushed Hawks’, feeling almost tickling in how light the graze. He could feel Hawks' lips part slightly in anticipation.

Then Hawks' lips closed and spread into a smirk.

“Wow, tease,” Hawks said, his lips grazing Izuku's as he talked.

Izuku's breath caught again. He couldn't believe…

He swayed in, then back out, then finally he closed the gap, pressing his lips to Hawk's.

Hawks acted immediately.

One of his hands dropped to Izuku's low back to pull him even more flush, while the other reached up and tangled itself in Izuku's curls to force his head down and deepen the kiss.

Hawks tilted his head and parted his lips and licked his way into Izuku's mouth, making Izuku gasp and allow entrance.

Suddenly his tongue was battling with Hawks', warm and wet in his mouth and their lips opened and closed rhythmically together and Hawks ground his hips up into Izuku's so that their clothed erections rubbed together.

Izuku's head spun and his stomach flipped and his whole body felt hot.

He could never ever have imagined such a first kiss.

It was better than a dream.

They just kept kissing and kissing. Tongues tangling. Izuku had to figure out how to breathe through his nose so he could keep going. The hand Hawks' had gripped in his hair guided Izuku's head and sent tingles down his spine. He was now painfully hard and desperate for relief and their hips were grinding together in a way that shot pleasure up his spine but also left him wanting more. Hawks' other hand was now gripping his hip, fingers tucked just slightly under the band of his shorts.

Finally they pulled away slightly just to breath, panting hard against each other, breath mingling.

“Ngh, fuck, I wish I could flip you over and tear these pants off you,” Hawks growned. “It wouldn't take much.”

Hawks reached down with the hand on Izuku's hip and ran it down the side of his leg and then up the back of his thigh and then Izuku felt the tip of Hawks’ fingers directly on his skin as he poked them through some tears that must have happened when Izuku skidded across the cement. His fingers tickling the skin at the crease, just under Izuku's butt.

Izuku's breath hitched and he gave an involuntary thrust into Hawks, which the Hero seemed to take as permission because he slid his hand up and gripped Izuku's butt firmly, fingers still touching skin through the holes in Izuku's shorts.

Hawks used his grip to hold Izuku firm so that he could grind more thoroughly up into him.

They both groaned.

Hawks pulled Izuku's head back down and kissed him again. Izuku met him eagerly, already addicted to the feeling.

He knew kissing was supposed to be good, but he never thought it would be this good.

His whole body felt tingly with anticipation, he vaguely recognized his adrenaline was still pumping from the fight, amped up more rather than less from their contact. He felt dizzy in the best way.

He picked a hand up and ran it along Hawks' sides, reveling in the outlines of his muscles. A nerdy part of his brain trying to analyze the material and texture of Hawks' flight suit. It wasn't wet even though the damp fur of Hawks’ coat was touching it.

Hawks just ground into him more, writhing appreciatively under the contact, so Izuku brought his other hand up to do the same. Roaming Hawks' body. Both hands sliding up and down muscled sides and across his pecs.

Then because the need in his groin was becoming desperate, he reached down to grip Hawks’ hip bone, where it peaked out over his cargo pants, and used it as leverage to grind into him more.

Till suddenly they were lost in roaming, groping hands, deep kissing and desperate rutting.

His orgasm snuck up on him. Hitting him suddenly with a blinding wave of relief and full body euphoria, then quickly following up with incredible embarrassment as he realized he'd just cum in his pants.

Hawks chuckled as they slowed down, panting against each other.

“S-sorry,” Izuku stammered in mortification. He could feel Hawks' shake his head.

“That was hot,” Hawks panted out.

“Um… I can…” Izuku said, trailing off for the implications.

“You can- what?” Hawks asked, teasingly.

Izuku flushed, then his heart, if possible, seemed to pound harder as he gathered his courage. He didn't know how far back the cement slab went, but he slowly slid himself down Hawks body. His feet touched the edge before he was all the way to his goal but he managed to bend his knees awkwardly and crunch himself down so that his head was nuzzled against Hawks' groin.

He had no idea what he was doing.

“C-can I?” Izuku asked.

“Knock yourself out,” Hawks said, grinding up very slightly into Izuku's face.

Izuku's breath hitched and his fingers shook slightly as he unbuttoned and unzipper Hawks' cargo pants. Hawks' flight suit appeared to be a leotard, holding everything in, but there was a slit presumably for using the bathroom.

Izuku rubbed his hand nervously over the thick bulge under the flight suit fabric and Hawks bucked up into his hand. Incredibly, he could feel himself getting aroused again even as he could barely breathe from his nerves. He reached in and pulled Hawks’ erection free of the flight suit. It was a little awkward and when he finally managed to get it out, it sprung free suddenly and smacked him in the face.

Hawks snorted out an undignified laugh, and the ridiculousness hit Izuku all at once, making him laugh as well. Till they were both chuckling together, even as Izuku was hyper aware of Hawks' firm, thick length in Izuku's hand.

They quieted into a more relaxed air, somehow, and Izuku suddenly didn't feel all that rushed. He slid his hand up the soft, hot skin of Hawks' erection and was surprised to find him cut. Which was very uncommon. The nerdy part of his brain said that a lot of the Hawks porn he'd seen was wrong.

Izuku had never given anyone a blow job. Or a hand job. Or even touched anyone like this at all.

He'd read instructions though and he'd watched videos and he'd even embarrassingly practiced on a dildo a few times. So, his heart hammering, he covered his teeth with his lips and licked them like he'd read and then pressed them up against the head of Hawks' cock.

He could feel the slit and he pressed his tongue to it, lapping up the salty, musky liquid there. Then, slowly, he pressed his head down and took more of it into his mouth, swirling his tongue more to explore the incredible novelty of having a cock in his mouth than to give Hawks pleasure. Hawks moaned anyway and the sound shot straight down Izuku's body.

Hawks brought his hands down and tangled them into Izuku's hair.

Izuku collected saliva in his mouth like he'd read to do and began bobbing up and down, pressing his tongue to the head and making sure to pop his lips over the ridge which his research said was the most erroneous part. He was suddenly glad it was pitch black because his brow was scrunched in concentration and he knew he was making his stupidest thinking face as he tried to perfect the technique.

He found he liked it.

He liked the hot, soft feel of Hawks' erection and the musky taste. It felt good against his tongue in a way he didn't expect. It got easier as the erection became wetter and Izuku tried bobbing his head lower and lower each time.

“Oh fuck,” Hawks groaned and bucked up into Izuku's mouth. That alone made Izuku hard again and Hawk's grabbing his hair tighter just made it worse.

Then Hawks was thrusting into Izuku's mouth, holding his head in place. Breathing through his nose, Izuku tried to relax his throat.

He'd read online that to get good he could use his tooth brush after brushing his teeth to go deeper and deeper and slowly relax his gag reflex over time. He'd gotten a bit stupidly fixated on it in middle school when he hadn't yet given up on Kacchan liking him back, and had done it every night for a long time.

He'd never been able to test it before.

He was suddenly really excited to do so.

How amazing would it be to take all of Hawks. To deep throat THE Hawks, as his first ever blowjob. So he used his hands to indicate for Hawks to thrust deeper and marveled as Hawks groaned.

He slowly thrust up into Izuku's mouth and forced Izuku's head down. Going a bit deeper each time. While Izuku just scrunched his face in concentration as he willed his tongue and throat to relax.

Hawks hit the back of his throat and Izuku had to swallow around the intrusion, marveling in the thick feel of it. Then Hawks went deeper and deeper and finally Izuku's nose was pressed into Hawks' flight suit.

“Ngh, fu- ah,” Hawks groaned out, his words cut up and abortive. He pulled out and Izuku took a quick breath for air before he was thrust back down onto Hawks' erection, the head sliding deep into his throat as he swallowed around the intrusion. Hawks was now gasping a litany of sounds and choked groans. He started picking up his pace and force as he used Izuku's mouth to chase his own release. The hands in Izuku's hair were tight from barely contained restraint.

Izuku's own erection pulsed with each thrust as he struggled to breath. His thoughts becoming just the pinpointed focus on what he was doing. Relaxing his throats, swallowing, breathing, the feel of Hawks' smooth erection sliding across his tongue deeper and deeper till he felt overwhelmingly full of it, his jaw aching.

Then suddenly Hawks pulled him off with a pop and Izuku could hear him panting hard.

“Why'd you stop?” Izuku asked, then coughed lightly from his throat being raw.

“Going to cum,” Hawks panted.

“I want to taste it,” Izuku said, then flushed in embarrassment but Hawks just groaned.

“You sure?” Hawks asked.

“Please?”

Hawks didn't say anything else before pressing Izuku back down. Izuku had to quickly wrap his teeth and relax his tongue and throat as Hawks' erection was shoved deep into him. Hawks' thrusts became harder, faster and more frantic. Losing their rhythmic quality as he jittered and thrashed, clearly just chasing his release with Izuku's mouth.

Then he thrust in deep and came, groaning long and low as his erection pulsed hot and thick in waves as liquid splurted down Izuku's throat. He swallowed desperately so he didn't feel like he was drowning, and was a little disappointed he didn't actually get to taste it since it had completely bypassed his tongue.

Hawks came for long enough that Izuku was starting to worry about getting air again, but finally Hawks relaxed and slumped down and Izuku pulled off to take in a few gulping breaths.

“Wow, consider me impressed,” Hawks said, pulling Izuku back up from where he was wedged. Izuku's knees and hips groaned from getting released from their awkward positioning. “I had you pegged wrong.”

“Th-thanks?” Izuku said, his voice hoarse.

Hawks chuckled and hugged him closer before cradling his head to kiss him again. This time less desperate and more sensual, although Izuku couldn't help but to grind his hips down from it.

“Are you horny again?” Hawks asked. Izuku flushed.

“That was hot,” Izuku said somewhat defensively, and Hawks chuckled.

“It was very hot,” Hawks agreed. “Let me return the favor, you might be able to shimmy up the pillar a bit and then I can slide down some.”

“But… I'm all wet from… um… earlier,” Izuku said.

“Sounds uncomfortable, best clean that up too,” Hawks said. Izuku throbbed at the implications and at Hawks' urging hands, started crawling forward some. He could barely get to kneeling if he tilted his head to the side and pressed himself close to the pillar. Hawks slid down and very expertly freed Izuku from his shorts.

Hawks hands slid under Izuku's shorts to grab each cheek of his butt in a tight grip, half gloved hands against Izuku's bare skin.

Then Hawks hot tongue was licking up Izuku's shaft and it felt like nothing he'd ever experienced before.

“Oh wow,* Izuku gasped out. Then Hawks took him down to his root in one fell swoop, encompassing Izuku's erection in the tight, wet heat of his throat and mouth. “Oh- oh- oh-”

Izuku didn't know what to do. It was amazing. Just the one thrust deep into Hawks' mouth and his toes were curling and legs trembling. Heat pooled bellow his navel. Like with the kiss, Hawks didn't give him any time to go slow. He immediately started bobbing his head onto Izuku's erection, taking him all the way down each time and swirling his tongue around the head at the other end. Both felt amazing. Sending tingling pleasure up Izuku's spine and down his legs.

If he could have collapsed, he would have, but he was hemmed in by concrete and so instead he just shook and trembled from the overwhelming pleasure. His mind whited out and without warning Hawks he came again. Hawks swallowed him down and then pulled off with a lewd pop. He tucked Izuku away easily.

Hawks inched back up against the pillar first, before helping Izuku slide down. Izuku felt bone limp as he maneuvered back on top of Hawks.

“Actually, do you think it would be possible for us to swap?” Hawks asked. “I took a nasty fall and my wings don't like being pinned.”

“Oh, yes! Or I mean- actually I don't know if it's possible but I'm willing to try,” Izuku said. “I can't believe I've been putting so much weight on you, I watched you get thrown through a parking lot floor!”

Hawks chuckled.

“Yeah, that hurt,” he said easily.

“I'm so sorry,” Izuku said.

“No sweat,” Hawks waved off.

They both awkwardly tried twisting around in the tight space, stepping on each other and falling a few times. Izuku got a face full of feathers. Then finally they were swapped.

Izuku leaned against the pillar and Hawks collapsed onto him, his head resting on Izuku's shoulder and wet hair tickling his cheek.

The ridiculous ordeal of it made Izuku laugh, then he couldn't stop giggling as he thought about the fact that he'd just experienced Hawks floundering around in the dark just as badly as him. Hawks joined in, chucking against him. He could feel the shaking of his laughter on top of him. Izuku wrapped his arms around the hero, under his coat. The soft fur dry on the inside.

They quieted into an easy silence.

Hawks was heavy on top of him, unabashed in letting his weight rest on Izuku.

The cement under his skin was cold, but Hawks was warm and the stale air was warm so it felt nice.

Izuku's whole body started to feel heavy too. Creeping in as his limbs began to feel like dead weights. Then an intense exhaustion followed, his chest and eyes pinching as if he hadn't slept in days.

“I'm adrenal crashing,” he mumbled to Hawks.

“Me too,” Hawks said. “I'll wake you before they pull us out.”

“You wont sleep?” Izuku asked.

“No, I'm using feathers to search the rubble and direct rescue crews to the most urgent cases,” Hawks said.

“Have you been doing that this whole time!?” Izuku asked.

“Yep,” Hawks said.

“That's- you're- you're amazing!” Izuku gushed. “Wow, I think I've been underestimating you.”

“Heh, most people do,” Hawks said. “It helps getting defacto number one hero because the other two died rather than surpassing them. Getting underestimated is an advantage so I'm not complaining.”

“You're numbers are better than endeavours by a lot-” Izuku started but Hawks put a finger to his lips.

“Don't get worked up, sleep, it will make you feel better and we'll be here a long time.”

Izuku nodded and closed his eyes. He didn't know if he'd ever felt so tired but he didn't know if he could sleep. The number one hero… who he'd just somehow had sex with!! Was laying on top of him.

He jerked awake sometime later, blinking his eyes open only to find it still pitch black.

He reached up quickly and found Hawks still laying on top of him.

It wasn't a dream.

“Awake?” Hawks asked.

“Yeah,” Izuku said and tried to straighten out a bit but failed. His back and neck ached from the position. “And sore.”

“Same,” Hawks said, although he sounded chipper about it. “We’ve still got a few more hours down here, but Uravity is on scene and rescue has accelerated significantly.”

“I can't imagine being stuck under the rubble like this and not knowing what was happening. When or even if rescue was coming,” Izuku mused even as he took stock of his aching body. It seemed he had some scratches and scrapes from falling on the cement. Turns out the skidding tore skin in addition to his shorts it seemed. He was pretty sure he had some glass cuts on his arms.

“Yes, that's why we're out last,” Hawks said. “I can work nearly as effectively from here. Especially now Uravity is here, we work together enough to have a communication system with just feathers… and she's smart enough to actually remember it, unlike most heroes.”

“Really? People struggle with that? But I know half of your feather signals,” Izuku said. “And I've only been able to learn from seeing them in incidents repeatedly.”

“You'd have made a good hero then,” Hawks said.

“Oh…” Izuku said, his stomach sinking.

“That was a compliment,” Hawks said.

“Y-yeah, th-thanks,” Izuku said, putting on his big smile but then he realized Hawks couldn't see it.

“Okay spill, now I'm curious,” Hawks said.

“Spill?” Izuku asked.

“Yep, spill, tell me what's going on in that head of yours, I'm bored and curious and might as well pass the time,” Hawks said.

“Bored? Aren't you actively working?” Izuku said.

“I'm searching the rubble still but it's not taxing, mostly I'm just hovering over known locations of people,” Hawks said. “Boring, entertain me.”

“Oh um, it's not very entertaining,” Izuku said. “Stupid mostly.”

“Tell me anyways,” Hawks said.

“I wanted to be a hero,” Izuku said, then he took a deep breath and decided for honestly. “I didn't just want it. It was my only dream. I didn't give up when I found out I was quirkless. I applied to UA. I got top marks on the written exam but obviously I didn't get in.”

“They didn't let you into general?” Hawks asked.

“I didn't apply to general admission,” Izuku admitted in a small voice. “Trying to fight robots and watching all the other entrents… made me realize how stupid I was. I did manage to stop Uravity from getting squashed by a robot by helping her stand up. My claim to fame, next to being childhood friends with Kacchan. Anyway, it's still… sad. The worst part of being quirkless. I was so determined, I think I could have found a way to make most any quirk work.”

“Damn, that sucks, you would have made a good hero too,” Hawks said. “I still think you’d make a good dispatcher. I can't work with them, they can't keep up, but Uravity has a lot. Would you be willing to relocate?”

“To Fukuoka?” Izuku asked.

“Yep,” Hawks said.

“Yes,” Izuku said easily. “If it paid enough that I could afford to do so.’

“Easily,” Hawks said. “You sure? It's a big change.”

“I still live with my mom,” Izuku admitted feeling even more pathetic. “Legally companies can't ask for your quirk or fire you for it, but once they find out I'm quirkless my jobs never last very long. Then my record doesn't look good. At least this job got blown up.”

Hawks huffed a laugh.

“Much better for your resume,” he quipped.

“Oh that was really careless of me to say!” Izuku realized frantically.

“Yeah, but it was funny,” Hawks said cheerfully. “It's done then. Pack your bags.”

“I don't have the job yet! You don't know they'll take me,” Izuku argued. He didn't have to fight getting his hopes up. They had all been solidly squashed years ago.

“I'm Hawks,” Hawks said, as if that answered everything. Which it probably did. Hawks didn't have the clout All Might had by any stretch but he was still number one hero. “So, who's Kacchan?”

“Oh, um, DynaMight,” Izuku said. “We were friends when we were really young. My mom's friends with his parents still.”

“Damn, didn't know DynaMight could have friends, you had to be a saint, or he had to be different?” Hawks mused.

“No, he was always like that,” Izuku said. “His mom too.”

“You're telling me there's two of them?” Hawks asked, then whistled. “I guess he had to get it somewhere. I didn't realize there could be a hero angrier than Endeavour but he certainly proved me wrong.”

“He's not that bad if…” Izuku started but then trailed off.

“If?” Hawks prompted.

“Okay, I guess he is that bad,” Izuku said. “There are more sides to him, or there were, but… at some point anger just kinda won out I guess. I haven't really talked to him since middle school.”

“I thought your family were friends?” Hawks said.

“Yeah, but I don't go if I know he'll be there and he rarely goes home anyways. I think I see his parents more than him,” Izuku said.

“You're avoiding him? You don't strike me as the kinda person to avoid being able to talk to a hero,” Hawks said.

“Um… well, Kacchan really doesn't like me,” Izuku admitted. “He never really forgave me for being quirkless.”

“Forgave you?”

“Um, I don't know if that's the right way to put it, but he hated that I wasn't going to be a hero with him like we said when we were really young. I think he hated that he was associated with me too… or something? I don't know,” Izuku shrugged.

“Or he's just bitter you'd have made the better hero and he knows it,” Hawks said.

“That's not true! Kacchan is an amazing hero!” Izuku said.

“DynaMight is a glory hound,” Hawks said casually. “I've collaborated with him many times. If you can even call it that. He's a one track mind villain fighter. He'd never have fished that baby out of that car, he'd have just blown this place up worse trying to take down that villain.”

“That's not true, he saves people,” Izuku protested.

“How much of a hero nerd are you?* Hawks asked. “I get the impression you're a fanboy.”

“Oh, um, yeah, I am,” Izuku mumbled.

“You know Endeavor and my Hero statistics off the top of your head?” Hawks asked.

“Yes, Endeavor is known for taking down more villains in his career than any other hero, including All Might, but he had terrible rescue statistics. The reported numbers are always cumulative, so you don't compare to All Might or Endeavour but you haven't been a hero that long. If you divide by years active, you only lag behind in villain takedowns but your rescue numbers are insane. Record high and I see why now.”

“What about DynaMight?” Hawks asked.

“So far he's only lagging behind Endeavor slight in villain take downs, I mean he hasn't been a hero very long at all. Endeavor didn't do as well in the beginning either so I think DynaMight could actually make record,” Izuku gushed.

“And his rescue statistics?” Hawks asked.

“Yeah, well, those definitely aren't as good,” Izuku admitted.

Hawks chuckled.

“You're very defensive of someone you avoid,” Hawks said. “Got the hots for him?”

“Not anymore!” Izuku squeaked.

“Oh, anymore is it?” Hawks laughed.

Izuku groaned.

“Who are your hero crushes then?” Hawks asked. “I better make the list.”

“Hawks,” Izuku protested in a bit of a whine.

“Oh come on, I know you have a ranking. Am I above or below Kacchan?” Hawks teased

“I c-can’t-” Izuku stammered out in protest.

“Below then,” Hawks said.

“No that's not true!” Izuku said.

“So that's above?” Hawks teased, his body shaking with withheld mirth.

“This isn't fair! I'm literally being held captive!” Izuku protested. Hawks laughed aloud then and Izuku groaned.

“What about you then?” Izuku asked boldly. “How often do you hook up with fanboys?”

“This once,” Hawks said.

“What? That can't be true,” Izuku said.

“Why, because they say I'm a playboy?” Hawks asked.

“No because- I can't actually be-” Izuku tried but failed to come up with the words for his surprise.

“Special?” Hawks asked.

“Um, yeah, I guess,” Izuku said.

“I had some bad experiences a while back, so I've been on a celebate streak," Hawks said. “Flirting is easy, but I don't follow up.”

“But then…” Izuku tried.

“What about now?” Hawks finished for him.

“Yeah,” Izuku said in a small voice. He felt offkilter somehow.

He could feel Hawks shrug.

“I don't know. I thought you were cute. Adrenaline. Boredom. It's been a while. Laying in here trying to ignore our hardons for hours seemed more awkward than doing something about it. Thought I'd throw caution to the wind,” Hawks sounded more like he was musing aloud than answering the question.

“Oh,” Izuku said lamely.

“I don't regret it, do you?” Hawks asked.

“No! This was the best thing that's ever happened to me!” Izuku said instantly then winced and regretted it immediately.

“I doubt it was that good,” Hawks chuckled.

Izuku hunched his shoulders a bit and didn't answer. Hawks let out a sigh of air and then started to shift. For one dumb second Izuku thought Hawks was trying to get distance between them before he remembered that wasn't really possible.

Instead Hawks shifted to move up so he was straddling Izuku's lap rather, so that his head wasn't resting on Izuku's shoulder anymore but instead level with his face.

“If it was that good, we should do more,” Hawks said reaching a hand up to cup Izuku's cheek before sliding it back to grip into his hair again.

“Y-you want to?” Izuku asked.

“I said I didn't regret it,” Hawks said.

“Th-that’s not exactly a shining amount of praise,” Izuku said.

“Kiss me again,” Hawks said, his voice gentle.

Izuku hesitated for a second before leaning forward, his nose finding Hawks again in the dark first then tilting his head and kissing him. Hawks didn't immediately begin to devour his mouth this time. Instead letting the closed mouth kiss linger pleasantly. After a little while he opened his lips just a little and they began kissing without tongue. Just meshing lips in a rhythmic open and close against each other. Somehow it felt even more forbidden to Izuku than the making out.

Then their tongues began to meet for just the barest graze on the open, sending tingles of anticipation down Izuku's spine at each fleeting contact. He reached his arms around Hawks and pulled him in tighter but Hawks pulled back.

“Okay, my back hurts quite a lot now,” Hawks said and Izuku immediately released him in alarm.

“I'm so sorry!” Izuku said.

“It's fine, I definitely have a few cracked ribs is all,” Hawks said.

“That doesn't sound fine,” Izuku protested.

“It's part of the job,” Hawks said.

“Y-you don't have to kiss me,” Izuku said. “If you hurt and-”

“I like it,” Hawks said.

“Huh?” Izuku said.

“Enough that I regret all those years avoiding it,” Hawks said. “Who knew it could be so fun?”

“B-but you could kiss anyone you wanted,” Izuku said.

“The people I've been with haven't been big on kissing,” Hawks said. “I didn't think I was either. So how's this for praise: you made me realize it's pretty great actually.”

“I don't know that I believe that,” Izuku admitted.

“No reason to lie,” Hawks said. “No one would believe anything you said happened down here anyways. They'd just call you attention seeking and dismiss you.”

“That's true,” Izuku said, knowing it all too well.

“Although I'd appreciate it if you didn't go talking about it anyway,” Hawks said.

“I wasn't going to!” Izuku insisted immediately.

“I believe you,” Hawks said easily, although Izuku didn't know how that could be true. “Kiss me again, just don't grab my ribs.”

Izuku nodded then leaned in and kissed him. This time his mind was racing as he did so. Even through the amazing feeling of kissing. The hot, soft warmth of Hawks' lips and press of his tongue. Izuku couldn't really shut his brain off.

Hawks couldn't actually mean that he hadn't been with anyone else in years, could he?

Hawks pulled back.

“You do know you can also say no, right?” Hawks said.

“Oh no! I mean I want to!” Izuku said. “Sorry! I'm just easily distracted. I have a hard time turning my brain off.”

“What's this distraction then?” Hawks asked.

“You really mean it?” Izuku asked. “That you've liked… this?”

“I could do with more bed, less concrete and fewer cracked ribs,” Hawks quipped. “But yeah, turns out I shoulda been living up to my reputation and kissing fanboys this entire time. Today I learned.”

“I-” Izuku began but Hawks cut him off.

“Oh and more lube. Definitely wish I just carried lube around in my pockets,” Hawks added definitively.

“L-lube?” Izuku stammered.

“It'd be awkward but there's enough space, I bet I could have fucked you in here,” Hawks said. Izuku's stomach flopped and his heart picked up pace.

“O-oh, suddenly I wish you carried around l-lube too,” Izuku managed around the flooding fantasy of actually getting to have real penetrative sex with Hawks. “I g-guess if you ever want… not that you would but… if you did-”

“Are you inviting me over for a follow up?” Hawks teased. “Careful what you wish for.”

“I would never regret-” Izuku started but a loud grinding noise interrupted him. He looked up towards the sound, not that it did him much good. It was still pitch black.

“Hmm, hold that thought,” Hawks said, sounding a little far off. Izuku bit his own lip to keep himself from talking. They sat in silence for an uncomfortably long time. Hawks still straddling Izuku's lap, Izuku's hands on Hawks' hips. There were more crunching and grinding sounds. Some crumbling and thumping.

“No, no, not that one, that's load bearing- Uraraka stop him- thank you,” Hawks mumbled to himself. “Oh wow, that was a big piece even for you. Yep. No, here, yup. Oookay,” he clearly turned his focus back to Izuku to talk to him again. “Crisis averted, you've got my attention again. You were inviting me to come fuck you?”

“Um, yes,” Izuku said.

“I suppose it is that simple,” Hawks laughed.

“What's going on up there?” Izuku asked.

“Uravity is making faster progress then I expected,” Hawks said. “There was a tricky section threatening more collapse that I wanted to direct them around. Shouldn't be long now, which is good, because I have to pee.”

“Oh, yes, that would be awkward,” Izuku said.

“Would definitely ruin the mood,” Hawks laughed. “So, how do you want to spend the rest of our much more limited time?”

Izuku gathered his nerves and reached up to put a hand in Hawks' thick, wet hair and pulled him in to kiss him. Their teeth clacked a bit as he misjudged the distance but Hawks just chuckled slightly before helping him aim and they were making out again.

Harder this time.

Tongues tangling and battling, sliding against each other. Hawks ground down on him and pulled him in closer. Izuku, feeling bold, reached around and grabbed Hawks butt to help him grind down and Hawks just pressed into the contact with approval.

Izuku decided to just enjoy this, pushing his thoughts aside. What did it matter if Hawks was lying? What did it matter if he did this all the time or never? Izuku was probably never going to see him again. This was his one chance and he didn't want to waste it.

Because it was amazing.

His whole body was flushed from it. He felt drunk on it. He could feel the light stubble on Hawks' chin against his own. The muscles of his glutes flexing as he thrust down. Their bodies flush together, their mouths flush together. It was dizzying and amazing.

Hawks did seem into it. Not stopping or pausing or pulling back. Enthusiastic and forceful. His hands roaming Izuku's bare skin, tweaking his nipples or grabbing his neck or hair. Izuku was at his mercy.

They just kept going and going. Kissing and kissing, until Izuku was out of breath and shaking.

Then finally they broke apart as Hawks pulled back.

“Rescue imminent,” Hawks said. “Here, let's see if I can't-”

Hawks pulled back a hair and shimmied his arms around some until he was awkwardly fumbling about on top of Izuku.

“What are you doing?” Izuku asked.

“Battling my coat,” Hawks said through clenched teeth. “Fff- there. That was harder than it should have been.”

Then suddenly Hawks’ coat was being draped over Izuku's chest.

“What?” Izuku asked, clutching at it.

“To keep you decent,” Hawks said. “Also it's going to be cold out there.”

A few minutes later there was a crack of light and a flush of cold, fresh air that Izuku gulped in hungrily after the stale air of the concrete box. Then only moments after that the larger piece of concrete propped against their pillar was lifted and light flooded in.

It wasn't daylight, Izuku realized as he covered his eyes and blinked up, but giant spot lights were brought in for the excavation. It was the middle of the night now, when it had been day last he checked.

“You have a civilian with you?” Uravity said in alarm and Izuku blinked up at her as Hawks stood up off of him.

“Yep,” Hawks said.

“We should have gotten you sooner then,” Uravity said.

“Nah, we were fine, right Izuku?” Hawks said, offering a hand to him. Izuku took it and let himself get hoisted up, clutching Hawks jacket protectively to himself so that he wasn't bearing his whole chest to Uravity.

“Um, yeah, don't worry about me,” Izuku said, bowing. Hawks took his coat out of Izuku's arms and helped Izuku put it on properly. It fit startlingly well, and as Izuku stood next to Hawks, he realized that Hawks wasn't actually taller than him.

“Anyone else?” Uravity asked Hawks in a hushed voice. “There are still a fair number of missing people.”

“Not that I could find,” Hawks said grimly. “But that doesn't mean they aren't okay or even here.”

“Yeah, we're lucky it wasn't worse,” Uravity said.

Izuku looked around at the carnage. The whole parking lot hadn't collapsed at least, just one section of it, but it had collapsed enough that he could see the stars five stories up. Rebar and concrete holes and smashed cars littered the area.

“Did the villain get away?” Uravity asked.

“Nope,” Hawks said. “He crushed himself to death just over there. At least I don't have to file a kill report, those are a pain. Although it would have saved some lives if I had.”

“Yeah, alright, we've got it from here,” Uravity said with a weary sigh. “No reason for you to stick around for the grim part.”

“Great, thanks,” Hawks said cheerily, then he grabbed Izuku around the waist and without warning shot them both into the air. Izuku let out a surprised, undignified shriek and then laughed as they reached the top of the flight and hovered for a second.

He watched as hundreds of feathers swarmed from all over, shooting back towards Hawks and replacing themselves in his wings. So that by the time Hawks was setting them down on solid ground he had a mostly full set of wings. Again huge and imposing in their size.

Hawks slung an arm over Izuku's shoulders amiably and started steering him towards a number of emergency vehicles.

“Right, let's get patched up,” Hawks said.

“I'm fine,” Izuku insisted. “You're the one who needs it.”

“You're pretty scraped up too,” Hawks said. “Still cute though. I didn't notice the freckles before.”

Izuku flushed and reached up to cover his face.

“Or the blush, I bet you were doing that the whole time,” Hawks said in a low tease. “Oh no, best stop blushing if you can. Vultures incoming.”

“Huh?” Izuku asked in confusion, uncovering his face to look up for birds. Then he realized it was paparazzi as a crowd of people with cameras and microphones swarmed them.

“Hawks!” “Hawks!”
“Hawks!”
“Hawks!” “Hawks! Hawks!”
“Tell us about the villain!”
“Did he get away?’
“What about the people still trapped in the rubble?”
“What can you tell us about those still missing?”
“How many died?”
“Do you think you could have rescued more?”
“How come the villain wasn't caught earlier?”
“Who is this with you?”
“Young man! Young man! Were you trapped with Hawks under the rubble?”
“Did he prioritize your rescue?”
“What was it like-”

“ENOUGH!” Hawks called out, loud and clear. Somehow unnaturally so. Then suddenly he was all casual smile and easy going demeanor. “Chill, alright? It's dangerous here, the ground is unstable. Please move back to designated areas while we go get patched up. I'll make sure to come out and answer all your questions later.”

“Young man!” One of the reporters continued asking, ignoring Hawks for the most part and looking eagerly to Izuku. “How did Hawks rescue-”

Hawks stepped between Izuku and the reporters, blocking him mostly from view.

“Actually, this man saved me,” Hawks said. “He evacuated a number of people I couldn't get to and then tackled me out of the way or falling debree. I owe him my life. I'll tell you all the thrilling tale when we aren't at risk of collapsing five stories to our deaths.”

The reporters ignored the dismissal and continued asking questions but Hawks steered Izuku away, leaving a line of feathers like a barricade keeping them back.

“Sorry about that,” Hawks said. Izuku shrugged. It had been overwhelming but it was only natural.

A medic came to greet them and led them both to a large box truck with medical equipment in the back. They climbed in and Izuku was expecting a similar swarm of medical staff to treat Hawks but it was only the one first responder.

Hawks unabashedly took off his flight suit, leaving him shirtless. Izuku would have marveled at his hard muscles except for all the bruising.

It was extensive. His back was black and deep purple and the blue and purple bruising and swelling reached around to his ribs. He looked absolutely battered.

“Are you… okay?” Izuku asked.

“Do you want me to take him to a seperate area?” The medic asked Hawks before the hero could respond.

“No, no, he's fine, he needs treatment too,” Hawks said. “There's not much you can do for me here.”

“Well you're right about that,” the medic said, examining Hawks’ ribs and pressing along them. “Some of these could be broken, you definitely need an ex-ray and probably a full hero-medic.”

Hawks nodded and then submitted to having all his scrapes and cuts cleaned and covered before he pulled his flight suit back on.

“Alright young man, you next,” the medic said to Izuku. To Izuku's mortification, this meant not only taking off Hawks' coat but taking off his shorts completely as most of his lacerations were on his legs. Hawks just smirked and winked at him over the medics shoulder.

“Deku! Deku are you in there?” Came a loud angry pounding on the vehicle door. Izuku jumped in surprise and the medic stopped in alarm. “Open the fuck up!”

“Kacchan?” Izuku asked.

“Oh thank fuck,” He heard Kacchan mutter from the other side of the door. “Open up! What's taking so fucking long?”

“I'm getting bandaged up!” Izuku called out, feeling alarmed and confused.

“Hurry the fuck up!” Kacchan yelled before, to Izuku’s horrors, he wrenched the door open. Kacchan stood, hero costume on, broad and huge in the door frame. His granades thick around his forearms, with messy hair and a sort of shocked expression on his face. He was easily twice as big as last time Izuku had seen him. Muscular and tall he loomed over Izuku and Hawks. “The fuck?? Why are you naked!?”

“I'm getting patched up,” Izuku said.

“If you don't mind DynaMight,” Hawks said easily from where he was lounging back as if completely uninjured. “Izuku is being treated.”

“The fuck? What are you doing here birdbrain?” Kacchan spluttered while Izuku desperately tried to cover himself with Hawks' coat.

“It was my fight,” Hawks said.

“Your fuck up, more like,” Kacchan snapped. “Get out.”

“DynaMight,” Hawks said warningly. “Explosions are a bad matchup for me. You know how I fight when I have a bad matchup. Get. Out.”

Kacchan stared threateningly in for a second and Izuku saw Hawks' feathers flare out and a razor fan. Finally Kacchan tch’d and slammed the door shut.

“You wouldn't actually fight him!” Izuku protested after a moment of silence. “Heroes aren't allowed to fight each other.”

“When all the dog knows is biting, you have to bite,” Hawks shrugged, leaning back casually as if nothing was amiss. “I thought you said he didn't like you?”

“He doesn't! I don't know why he's here! I haven't seen him in years,” Izuku said, as the medic got back to cleaning up his cuts. When he was done, Izuku quickly pulled on his shorts again and tried to hand back Hawks' coat.

“Keep it,” Hawks said.

“Huh?” Izuku spluttered.

“You just have to make me two promises,” Hawks said. “You can't sell it-”

“I would never!” Izuku said. He saved up for collectables but Hawks’ actual coat was a prize bigger than anything he could imagine getting.

“And you have to wear it,” Hawks said, smirking. “No hiding it away in a trophy case. You've got to use it.”

“But-”

“That's my rule,” Hawks said. “Promise?”

Izuku nodded dumbly and put the coat back on.

“Great, for some reason I feel the need to escort you past the crazy explosive man outside myself,” Hawks said. “Maybe even make sure you get home safe.”

He winked when the medic wasn't looking.

Izuku thanked the medic profusely and then hesitated before opening the door.

Kacchan was standing right outside, his arms crossed and face pinched in anger.

“The fuck? Why do you still have no shirt? What's with the fucking coat?” Kacchan barked immediately.

“M-my shirt was destroyed,” Izuku said.

“How the fuck do you get your shirt destroyed!?” Kacchan spluttered.

“Rescuing a baby from a crushed car,” Hawks said cheerily.

“Why are you still here?” Kacchan snapped at him.

“I was going to escort Izuku home,” Hawks said.

“Like fuck you are,” Kacchan said, puffing up. Then he turned to address Izku. “Auntie Inko is worried sick about you. She's off in the waiting area crying her fucking eyes out. Made her fucking worry. I'm taking you to her. Not this creep.”

“Oh! Mom called you,” Izuku said. “That makes sense. I was wondering why you were here.”

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Kacchan barked.

“Just that I know you wouldn't want to come get me if you didn't have to,” Izuku said.

“Tch,” Kacchan said. “Whatever nerd, shows what you know. Come on. The Hag is there too and I wanna get this fucking over with.”

“Aunt Mitsuki? Why?” Izuku asked.

“To comfort your mom if you were dead, dumbass,” Kacchan snapped.

“Wait? DynaMight’s mom? I have got to see this,” Hawks said cheerily and hoped up to walk beside Izuku.

“Fuck off,” Kacchan said. “You need to file a fucking report and talk to the vultures.”

“Alright, alright,” Hawks said, holding his hands up in surrender as Kacchan sparked his palms threateningly. Then he bent in low to whisper softly in Izuku's ear. “So I don't lose track of you forever.”

At that Izuku felt the tickling fluttering of a large feather sliding up his sleeve.

“Back off!” Kacchan snarled and Hawks grinned at him before shooting away, buffeting them in a huge gust of wind. “Cocky asshole.” Kacchan muttered. “Come on.”

“I can go myself,” Izuku said. “You don't need to escort me-”

“He didn't hurt you did he?” Kacchan interrupted.

“Huh? Hawks?” Izuku asked.

“Obviously! Fucker is a slimy spy. Don't trust him,” Kacchan said.

“He's the number one hero!” Izuku protested.

“He's a murderer and a cheat,” Kacchan spat. “And he wont be number one when I take his spot. Just you wait. I'll be number one here, you here? You wait for me.”

“You'll have to get your rescue numbers up,” Izuku said.

“The fuck you say to me?” Kacchan snapped.

“It's true,” Izuku said, not backing down because despite his size, he was still Kacchan and Izuku just never knew when to back down with him.

“Whatever,” Kacchan grumbled.

“Izuku! My baby!” His mom cried as they approached and got up to rush toward him and fling herself around his neck. He was briefly glad Hawks hadn't accompanied him now, till he remembered the feather and realized Hawks could hear it all anyways.

“Mom, I'm okay,” Izuku insisted.

“They kept pulling people out but none of them were you. You weren't answering your phone and then we overheard them say they were reaching the last of the known survivors! And I thought- I thought!” His mom broke down sobbing and clung to him. He hugged her back, trying to fight back his own sympathetic tears.

“I'm okay! I was trapped with Hawks so I even knew exactly when I was getting rescued. So it wasn't even scary,” Izuku said.

She hugged him and cried for a long time. Then Mitsuki hugged him. Then Kacchan escorted them all back to a single car. He and his mom didn't own a car so it was the Bakugo’s. To his horror Kacchan got in too and he spent the next half hour trying not to touch Kacchan's hulking form on the cramped backseat as his mom sniffled and cried in the front.

They were dropped off and his mom fussed for a long time. Cooking him a big meal. Running him a bath. Even helping him handwash Hawks coat so he could wear it like promised.

Once he was finally alone, he very sheepishly got Hawks’ feather and talked to it.

“Um, I hope you're all healed up,” Izuku said. “And that this doesn't wake you or anything. I think I dropped my phone and it was probably crushed in the parking lot but this is my address.”

He then sheepishly told the feather his address.

He lay awake for a long time wondering if Hawks would come.

But he didn't.

“Are you sure you don't want me to call out of work?” His mom asked the next morning as he nodded off over breakfast.

“No,” Izuku said. “I'm okay. I've got to find a new job so I'm going to spend today hunting.”

“You should rest!” His mom insisted.

“I'm fine really,” Izuku said. “One of us has to work.”

She sighed.

It took five hugs and a cry session before she finally left and despite saying he was going to look for work, Izuku plodded up to his bedroom fully intent on sleeping again.

Except when he opened the door, Hawks was standing inside bent over Izuku's hero collectable display case.

“Hawks?” Izuku squawked in alarm.

“Good morning,” Hawks said cheerily. “You've quite the collection.”

Izuku flushed, looking about his overly postered room with all his hero paraphernalia. It was garish and juvenile and normally the one thing that really brought him joy. It was quite embarrassing now.

“So,” Hawks said, stepping into Izuku's space, his bird eyes dilating inhumanly as he took Izuku in. “I have to say, you're even cuter in All Might pajamas.”

Izuku flushed and tugged on his pajamas bottoms, not sure what to do.

“I came by to give you that,” Hawks said, pointing towards a packet on Izuku's desk. “New job details, if you want it. It's yours no matter what else happens. It's not with my agency so no conflict of interest.”

“Oh,” Izuku said, his heart sinking.

“You sound so disappointed?” Hawks said, tilting Izuku's head up so they were eye to eye. “Were you hoping for something else?”

“Y-yeah,” Izuku said honestly. Hawks smiled, not his usual cocky smirk but a softer smile that actually reached his eyes.

“Then kiss me,” Hawks said.

So Izuku did.

Notes:

This was suck in my head for some reason and I was struggling to write anything else. I didn't know why but it's been there a while. So I just decided to get it down so it would stop hogging up space. I didn't really think I did a good job, but I did it I guess. I hope it wasn't disappointing.

Also is this E or M rating? And what do I even tag this?
