First day of highschool.
For Emily - summer break was full of moving, again.
Being the ambassador’s daughter, summer was THE time to travel around for work things. Emily hated it. She never had the time to settle in, never had the time to make friends.
But this year was supposed to be different.
Emily finally succeeded to convince her mother to stay in the same school for the year, no moving.
It was senior year, all Emily wanted was to have at least one last normal year of highschool.
And of course, nothing was going to be normal.
Emily, as rich as her mother was, wasn’t a usual teen. She wasn’t the type to go out to parties and spend her Fridays drinking and getting with guys.
She wasn’t the type to get with guys.
Emily was more the type to have black eyeliner at 7 in the morning, not the type to have a squeaky voice and scream ‘oh my god’ when some guy hits on her, not that she had anything against girls who did… well, maybe a little.
Emily was exceptionally smart, Math came easily to her, English essays always got some extra points from the teacher.
Emily knew she wasn’t going to be one of the popular girls in school, she knew she was destined to get weird looks in the hallways.
She started wondering if maybe staying at the same school for the whole year was a bad idea,
Maybe moving around meant never settling in but it also meant never being a huge victim to bullying.
Well. Whether it was a bad idea or a good one. It was done. Decided. All she had to do was hope to survive this year.
