Chapter Text
The Kirishima household was formed by a husband, a wife and two loved children.
Kirishima Kenji and Midoriya Inko were high school sweethearts that fell in love and married young, their first born, Eijirou, was born on a cozy autumn afternoon was a timid child who bloomed into a shining bright kid when the baby of the family, Izuku, was born in a sunny summer day when Eijirou was to turn five.
The kids had been inseparable from a young age, Eijirou becoming a proud protective older brother for his younger sibling along with his childhood best friend Bakugo Katsuki, the shyness, clumsiness and quirklessness of Izuku meant their protectiveness became overbearing for the little kid.
Now at sixteen, Izuku sighs irritably at the red car parked at the front of the house as he peeked through his bedroom’s window. He loves his brother, he really does, but since he left home to room with his hero course friends after graduation to be closer to his agency, Izuku has felt like he could finally breathe.
The fact is there are no longer two pairs of red eyes watching his every move like hired body guards, meaning he could enjoy his high school years as a normal teenager. And since his brother and Kacchan had long graduated from UA by the time he started his first year in the support course, he had slowly bloomed out of his isolated shell they had kept him entrapped in and made friends of his own outside of their social circle, friends his own age.
Izuku was free without his brother home, which he knew was a mean thing to think, but it was the truth, his absence in the house meant Izuku was left unsupervised most of the time while their parents worked, which led to the teenager to get into all kinds of shenanigans with his friends. Ochako, Mei and Shoto alone were a bad influence, and together, if it weren’t because they had Tenya to rein them, most of their hangouts would end in a disaster, when the speedster he wasn’t the one to pull them into bullshit, that is.
So back to the red car, the glaring issue was that Izuku would have to postpone all his plans for the weekend so as to not raise suspicion with his brother, he was sure Eijirou would disapprove of his less than pleasant activities in the eyes of older brothers.
It's not like he has gotten into anything Eijirou hadn’t when he was his same age (or maybe younger considering Kacchan and his Eichan had been outgoing since young), so it shouldn’t really be a big deal, or so Ochako says, but she hasn’t met his brother in full mama bear mode, it would turn into a big deal.
Making a mental note to make some calls in the privacy of his room later, Izuku made his way down the stairs just as his mother started calling for him to come greet Eijirou.
“I’m home!” Eijirou exclaimed from the door as he hurried to take his shoes off to greet his family.
The eldest Kirishima brother had grown a force to be reckoned to, a ‘gym bro’ Ochako would call him, an ‘absolute tank of a man’ is Mei’s favourite description. He inherited all the tall genes from their dad while Izuku took the short genes from his mom, which means he is around two heads shorter than his brother, and so when his monstrous brother came running straight to him with his arms open screaming for his little Izuku, the boy nearly shrieked at the force of the arms that effortlessly lifted him off the floor as his ribs were nearly crushed.
He really was an overgrown puppy.
“Eichan! Put me down!” the boy whined as his brother ruffled his hair.
“How has my cute little brother been? Not missing me too much?” his idiot of a brother cooed instead as Izuku kept grumbling and whining.
“Moooom!” Izuku cried when Eijirou started dangling him as he walked to the kitchen to greet their mother next.
“Boys, don’t start so soon” The Kirishima woman scolded half mindedly as she took off her apron and turned the heat from the stove low to greet his eldest son with a kiss on his cheek. “Lunch will be ready in a bit, we’ll wait for your dad who left work early and I’ll call you then, why don’t you leave your stuff in your room Eijirou, take Izuku to help you.”
“It’s fine, mom, I got it” his brother flashed a smile, so Izuku took it as his cue to leave for his room and start calling to postpone plans, great.
“Hi Chakochan” he greeted his friend once she answered the phone.
“Izuku! Wasn’t expecting you til tomorrow since I figured you’d be busy with Shinsou by now”
“About that…” he mumbled “I might have to cancel on him, and tomorrow, my brother came home and I won’t be able to leave his sight”
“What?! But Izuuu” his friend whined at the other end of the phone. “We were going to Himi-chan’s!”
“I know!” Izuku cried, “I really wanted to have some fun tomorrow, but I can’t risk my brother catching wind of our umm, activities” he winced.
“Oh come on, and what about Shinsou? You’re gonna cancel on him too?”
Shinsou Hitoshi is Izuku’s older boyfriend that he met on a whim at a cat café, the tired purple haired boy had sat in a booth next to Izuku’s and offered him a drink, and since then they had slowly budded into a relationship. Hitoshi is Izuku’s first boyfriend…ish, situationship is what Shouto called it, since Hitoshi had yet to ask Izuku, either way, Izuku was sure that his family who have no idea about the man’s existence would freak out at their age difference, especially his brother, who would freak out at the mere mention of a partner regardless.
“It’s not like I want to cancel on Hitoshi, Chako”
“You could always pull the excuse you’re babysitting little Eri-chan and meet him instead”
“That might actually work, we were going to his parent’s for dinner anyways”
“See! And if you get to sleep over there that means he can drive you to the party tomorrow!” then Ochako paused, “Wait, you’re going to his parent’s again?” Izuku sighed as he figured where the conversation was heading.
“Yeaah, look, I know he isn’t my boyfriend yet but…”
“Don’t you think he’s taking it too far when he hasn’t even asked you yet?”
“It’s not like he pressures me into anything!” Izuku complained.
“Yeah, but it’s not like you’re both just hooking up either, he gives you the whole boyfriend deal without the actual confirmation, aren’t you worried he’s just trying to get into your panties by getting your hopes up and then leave?”
“Chakochaan” Izuku whined, “Hitoshi isn’t like that, he’s sweet, I- I’ll talk to him later, ok? I promise”
“You better, Izu, and tell him to bring you to Himiko’s”
“Fine Chako, I’ll see what I can do…” just as Izuku was about to say more, his door slammed open and Eijirou barged in.
“Who are you mumbling to on the phone?” he asked, appearing innocent and cheerful.
“None of your business! I have to go Ochako” Izuku grumbled as he hung up and glared at his brother.
“Mom called us for dinner, dad’s home and Kats will arrive in a bit”
“Kacchan is coming too?” he curiously trailed after his brother.
“He most likely already arrived”
“I didn’t know you two were coming home” Izuku pouted, he was kind of annoyed at the spur of the moment appearing of the two, as his plans were being affected.
“It was a surprise!” Eijirou exclaimed, which only received him a sigh.
Once Katsuki arrived and grunted in greeting to Izuku along with ruffled hair, and a much more polite greeting for the parents, the whole family sat to thank for the meal and dug in.
“So, how has been hero work?” Inko prompted both Katsuki and Eijirou.
“It’s been fine auntie, we’re continuously making it up the ranks” Katsuki said cockily with a smirk.
“Oh I have seen, you two boys are becoming very popular” Inko cooed over them both.
Izuku drooned out the rest of the talk as they finished dinner, mentally he braved himself to make his excuse to get out of the house with minimal protests.
“Um, may I be excused?” Izuku awkwardly spoke his first words since the chat began, making all eyes turn to him “I actually have plans and have to get ready…” he mumbles under the pressure.
“Plans? What kind of plans? Can't they wait for later? I just got home Zuku” his brother started whining.
“I… um, I promised Eri-chan I’d visit her today, and Aizawa-san invited me for dinner”
“Haaah? So you're leaving to play sitter to a four year old?” Kacchan questioned the teenager.
“Erin-chan is seven, and yes, it would be rude to leave her and her family hanging” Izuku grumbled.
“Oh, it's okay baby, go get ready, okay? You can catch up with the boys later” His mom dismissed him with a smile despite the boys’ protests.
“Thanks, mama!” Izuku kissed her cheek and rushed up the stairs to change, not about to let go of his mother’s permission to get out of there.
Once he changed out of his pajamas and into his volleyball short black shorts and an oversized sweatshirt to pair with his red shoes. He was about to go downstairs to make his way to Hitoshi’s apartment so he could drive them to his parents’ when Ejiroy knocked at his door.
“Hey Izu- what are those shorts?” He stared dumbfounded at the length of the cloth.
“They're my volleyball shorts” Izuku hissed embarrassedly.
“And you're wearing that to babysit?” He continued perplexed.
“Did you want something Eichan?” Izuku deflected as he grabbed his phone and his pair of house keys.
“Ah, yes, I was going to say I'll drive you” he grinned at his baby brother.
“That's not necessary Ei, I can just walk there.”
“Oi, let your brother drive you, we'll come with to drop you off, unless you have other plans related to the length of your shorts?” Kacchan grumbled as he appeared next to his brother.
“Ugh, fine! Just stop it about my shorts already, I'll send you the address.” Izuku grumbled as he pulled his phone out to text his brother the address and text Hitoshi he would meet him directly at his parents in a bit.
Izuku grumbled all the way to the car, he took the front seat at Kacchan's request and made on their way to drop him off.
“So what's really going on?” Kacchan said boredly from where he was splayed in the backseat.
“I don't know what you're talking about Kacchan, I'm just going babysitting” Izuku grumbled.
“With half your ass out of those shorts?”
“KACCHAN!” Screamed Izuku so mortified and flustered as he looked at his brother to help shut Katsiki up.
“Not cool bro”
“I’m just saying, you looking after a toddler or hoping to get laid?"
Instead of answering, he sulked and looked out the window, ignoring any other comment Katsuki attempted to make while Eijirou scolded him for saying that about his brother.
The rest of the ride passed in silence until he spotted Hitoshi’s old home with his car already parked outside.
“Drop me up here, that's the house” Izuku grumbled as he pointed to the light blue house.
“I'll come pick you up later, okay Zuku?” Eijirou said as he attempted to catch his brother's eyes.
“No need, I'll get home on my own” and with that he slammed the door shut and jogged to the front door as his brother's car left around the corner.
