Summary:

“Yang Jeongin?”

The man’s eyes flew open.

“Kim Seungmin?”

This wasn’t happening. Seungmin must still be asleep and this is all a dream, that’s quite literally the only situation which Seungmin can fathom that would entail Yang Jeongin to be half naked in his kitchen.

Seungmin's roommate's new fuck buddy also happens to be Seungmin's annoyingly hot high school nemesis.

Work Text:

When Seungmin opened his eyes he was immediately hit with a surge of discomfort and a dull ache in his head.

He groaned, digging the heels of his palms into his eyes as he sat up. He had fallen asleep at his desk again, forehead buried in a textbook and still fully dressed in a sweater and sweatpants. As he straightened up, a pain shot straight up his spine and he let out a wince. He really had to stop letting this happen, he was aware of this, but he studied best at night when there were no distractions and he would always just lose track of time.

He managed, with great difficulty, to push himself up and out of his desk chair and stretched his arms up above his head. He looked at the clock. God, it was almost noon already. He hated sleeping late, it was just a waste of his day. He could have already showered, dressed, eaten and been out the door by now but instead he looked like a dishevelled mess.

This was one of the days where he wished he had the money for an apartment where he had an en suite because he was more than likely going to run into his roommate Hyunjin on the way to the bathroom to wash up and he was going to be taunted by the elder boy.

They had been randomly assigned dorm mates when they were freshman and they just worked together. They were the type of people that probably never would have become friends if not put in the position where they were forced too, but they got along well enough and Hyunjin was a whole lot better than most of the roommate horror stories that Seungmin had heard from his friends. After freshman year, they decided to get an apartment together because it just made sense. They were both pretty tidy, didn’t annoy each other, and it was a whole lot cheaper to split rent.

But they were very different people. Hyunjin was an art student, a free spirited party animal who everyone on campus knew for his gorgeous looks and killer fashion sense. Seungmin on the other hand was an introverted law student who spent most of his time studying, leaving no time for partying. He had a pretty small group of friends and kept to himself usually. Despite their differences, they enjoyed each others company. Seungmin appreciated Hyunjin getting him out of the apartment every once in a while, even if he has to drag him, and Hyunjin always appreciated Seungmin’s level-headed advice when he got himself involved in campus drama.

Seungmin grabbed a white t-shirt and some fresh sweatpants before deciding to just brave it and leave his room, into their living room.

When he opened the door, instead of Hyunjin sprawled out on the couch, he was met with a man’s bare back in their kitchen.

He froze on the spot, a bit taken aback for a moment as he took in the situation in front of him. There was a shirtless man in his kitchen, cooking at the stove like he lived here. The mysterious man had dyed ginger hair that was starting to fade into more of an auburn shade and he had an incredible body. He looked a little shorter than Seungmin, but he was significantly bigger than him in every other way. The muscles on his back where chiselled like that of a statue, his arms toned and veiny. The man wore some red, plaid pyjama pants that hung low on his hips and–

Did this man have a tramp stamp?

Seungmin couldn’t believe his eyes. On top of that, he also had a tattoo on his left shoulder blade, some leafy design with Latin writing that Seungmin couldn’t make out from where he stood.

He had to say something.

He cleared his throat loudly. “Uh… hello?”

The man turned around and he looked even more gorgeous from the front, his face looked as if it had been chiselled in stone, and Seungmin suddenly zeroed in on the mans fox-like eyes.

His mouth fell agape.

When he woke up earlier, he must have been so tired that he just fell straight back asleep and this is all one big dream. That must be it.

“How’ve you been man?” Jeongin spoke, lips morphing into the charming smile which used to have Seungmin pulling his hair out. “Haven’t seen you since graduation.”

Man? Why is he talking to Seungmin like they’re long lost friends?

“Why are you in my apartment?” Seungmin blanked, completely ignoring Jeongin’s casual question.

“Blunt as ever.” Jeongin chuckled. “I’m here for Hyunjin.”

This couldn’t be real. How on earth would Jeongin even know Hyunjin? And what business would Jeongin have with Hyunjin, especially that would involve Jeongin shirtless and–

No.

No they can’t be.

“Are you guys…?” Seungmin spoke and braced for his answer.

“We hooked up, yeah.” Jeongin spoke, far too casually. As if Seungmin had just asked a question much more trivial like what time it was.

“We usually go to my place, but my roommate had someone over so needs must.” Jeongin shrugged as he picked up a mug of coffee from the counter and took a sip, glancing at Seungmin over the rim of the cup.

Seungmin wasn’t sure what his expression looked like, but judging by Jeongin’s raised eyebrow, he imagined it wasn’t a normal one.

Not only had Seungmin’s closest friend slept with the one person that Seungmin had hated more than anything in the world, but he had done it multiple times.

In Hyunjin’s defence, he had no idea that Jeongin and Seungmin even knew each other, let alone that they had history.

Seungmin and Jeongin had gone to the same high school, Seungmin was a model pupil and student council president, while Jeongin was a pain in his ass. Jeongin had always been a troublemaker, playing stupid pranks on their peers and never took anything seriously. He had this way of charming his way out of anything. When a teacher would scold him, he would butter them up until they had forgotten all about it. When he would annoy one of the girls in their class, he would just flash a smile at her and brush her arm with his fingers and suddenly he was some teenage heartthrob. Most of the guys in their class thought he was hilarious, except Seungmin.

As the student council president, he did his best to enforce the rules and Jeongin had always been the only person who foiled his plan. It drove him up the walls.

The worst part? The way Jeongin spoke to Seungmin. Instead of joking around with him—something Seungmin didn’t even care for, though he would have appreciated being treated like one of the guys since he was a guy—Jeongin talked to him the same way he talked to the girls who adored him. Unwanted flirting, teasing smirks, the whole works.

And it seems some things never change.

“You haven’t changed a bit, Kim.” Jeongin crossed his arms over his chest with a cocky smile, leaning back against the counter.

Seungmin scowled and was suddenly all too conscious of how scruffy he looked, hair unkempt, bags under his eyes and in yesterday's clothes while Jeongin stood opposite him looking like a Greek god.

Subjectively of course, not Seungmin’s opinion.

The smirk on Jeongin’s face turned into a full blown grin as he flicked the stove off and stepped closer to Seungmin. “Cat got your tongue?”

Before Seungmin could think of a reply, he was saved by Hyunjin walking out of his bedroom in a hoodie and boxers.

“That's where my pyjama pants went.” Hyunjin spoke with a lazy smirk, immediately walking over to Jeongin like Seungmin wasn’t even there. “You should have just worn nothing.”

“Please don't.” Seungmin replied immediately and Hyunjin’s head shot up like he hadn't even realised he was there.

“Oh. Seungmin, this is Jeongin.” Hyunjin spoke sheepishly, turning on the coffee machine.

“I know.” Seungmin spoke, expression blank.

“We've met.” Jeongin smirked, staring straight into Seungmin’s soul.

Hyunjin looked between the two with a perplexed expression, but chose not to comment on the strange tension.

“Made you breakfast.” Jeongin grabbed a fork and handed it to Hyunjin, a plate of eggs and toast on the counter next to him.

Hyunjin grinned and immediately started scooping eggs into his mouth, letting out a pleased hum. “You're the best.”

Seungmin rolled his eyes. He wasn't even sure what he was rolling his eyes at, just the thought of people praising Jeongin for the bare minimum pissed him off.

“Can make you some up quickly if you want, Kim?” Jeongin snapped him out of his thoughts.

Seungmin huffed. “I'm fine.”

“Suit yourself.” Jeongin replied and Seungmin swore he could see a tiny ounce of annoyance in his voice. It pleased him greatly.

“I'm going to shower.” Seungmin announced and quickly beelined for the bathroom before either of them could reply or do something disgusting.

Seungmin locked the door and then immediately hit his head against it, groaning in frustration.

“Fuck my life.”

Once Seungmin was showered, dressed and all around a bit more presentable to his ex-nemesis and roommates fuck buddy, he gave his hair a rub with his towel as he walked out of the bathroom.

Unfortunately, Jeongin was still in his apartment, and Hyunjin wasn't here to make it less awkward.

Part of him wished he could just sprint to his bedroom and hideout until he knew Jeongin was gone, but he had morals. Seungmin was known for being a polite guy, he had to just tough it out.

He sighed and walked over to the couch where Jeongin sat, now fully clothed thankfully in some grey jeans and a graphic tee.

“So.” Seungmin sat down on the opposite side of the couch.

“So.” Jeongin raised an eyebrow.

“What have you been up to?”

“Like, today?”

Seungmin groaned internally. This guy is impossible. “Since graduation.”

Jeongin leaned back against the couch. “Took a gap year. Travelled a bit. Now I'm here.”

“What's your major?”

“Psychology. Yours?”

Seungmin couldn’t deny he was a little surprised. He always just assumed that Jeongin had bad grades because he was goofing off so much, but he must've been doing alright to get into the psychology course here.

“Law.”

“Of course you are.” Jeongin snickered.

Seungmin bit his tongue. He was too old to be bickering. He had to be the bigger person here, since he knew damn well Jeongin wouldn’t be.

“How did you meet Hyunjin?” Seungmin asked.

“He’s a friend of a friend. We met at a party a while back.”

“And he’s… the only one?” Seungmin spoke, his words careful and sceptical. Sue him for being a bit worried for his friend, it wouldn’t be the first time that Hyunjin got tangled up in some complicated situationship.

Jeongin’s expression hardened. “The only what?”

“Guy you’re… sleeping with.”

Jeongin’s face twisted in a way that made Seungmin’s gut clench. Maybe he shouldn’t have been so blunt.

“Is that really what you think of me?” Jeongin spoke, his voice cold. Seungmin had heard many tones from Jeongin’s voice back in high school, but never anything like this before. Seungmin just stared, lips parting to speak but no words came out.

“You think I’m just some playboy that will fuck anything that moves?” his voice was getting louder now and the dread in Seungmin’s stomach got deeper and deeper.

In all honesty, from the very little Seungmin knew about Jeongin’s personal life, that was exactly what he had thought. Back in school, he was constantly flirting with every girl on campus, and Seungmin had heard all sorts of stories through the grapevine of what he would get up to at parties. Seungmin had no reason not to believe those stories.

Seungmin suddenly became alert again when he felt the couch shift as Jeongin got up, grabbing his bag from the floor and heading for the door.

“Wait–” Seungmin shot up from where he sat and then immediately realised he had no idea what he wanted Jeongin to wait for. What was he even gonna say? “Sorry I thought you were a slut”?

“No, I’m not gonna sit here and be judged by you. It’s like high school all over again, I can’t take it.” Jeongin hissed at him. “I really thought you might have changed.”

And then Jeongin was gone.

And Seungmin was left to his own thoughts.

Like high school all over again. What did he even mean by that?

“I vote that you ask Hyunjin for a turn and fuck it out.”

“What? No.” Seungmin scrunched up his face at Jisung’s words, willing him to lower his voice just a little.

“I didn’t even know he was gay. He was like, a total frat boy in the making.” Felix spoke as he took a sip from his iced coffee. “I heard so many stories about him hooking up with girls.”

“He could be bi, get woke Lixie.” Jisung spoke pointedly.

“This isn’t the point.” Seungmin groaned, resting his head in his hands and sighing deeply in frustration. He had brought this up at the trios weekly ice coffee and catch-up session in hopes of getting some sound advice from his friends, or in other words, have them agree with everything he said and validate his feelings.

“And what is your point exactly?” Felix asked, head tilted to the side a little.

“Yeah, I’m failing to see the problem here.” Jisung added.

“How can you not see the issue?” Seungmin frowned.

“It’s not like he’s done anything wrong, Seung.” Felix put his coffee down and faced Seungmin fully. “He’s just living his life. If you really can’t stand him, can’t you just stay away?”

As much as Seungmin loved Felix, he also hated him sometimes. While Seungmin was smart in a book smart way, Felix was extremely emotionally intelligent and also wasn’t afraid to call people out on their bullshit.

“I can’t just ignore him if he’s in my apartment.” Seungmin mumbled, getting irritated.

“Yes you can. Just say hello and go to your room” Felix groaned, massaging his temples. “It’s like you’re making this difficult on purpose.”

Jisung suddenly gasped. “Because he is!”

Both Felix and Seungmin turned to Jisung with puzzled expressions, Jisung was grinning, eyes sparkling with a mix of excitement and mischief.

“He wants to talk to Jeongin.” Jisung sung. “Our little Minnie’s got the hots, and he’s embarrassed so he is acting like he hates him.” Jisung concluded with the smuggest look that Seungmin had ever seen.

“You’re insane. I’m never telling you guys anything again.” Seungmin rolled his eyes.

“He isn’t denying it!” Jisung practically screeched before he was shushed by Felix.

“Leave it, Jisung.” Felix scolded and Jisung backed down, shrinking in on himself like a child put in the naughty corner.

There was a long silence after that.

Seungmin didn’t like Jeongin. He could barely even tolerate his presence, let alone enjoy it. Sure, Jeongin was an objectively attractive man and sure, Seungmin was starting to realise he maybe had a thing for tattoos, but that doesn’t mean he liked the guy. He might be hot, but his personality was unbearable and left Seungmin wanting to pull his hair out every time they spoke.

His friends were right. He just had to act as normal and get on with his life.

“I wonder who tops and bottoms.” Felix broke the silence and Seungmin almost choked on his coffee.

“They must both switch, right?” Jisung perked up, resting his chin in his hand as he looked at Felix.

“Ew! No. We’re not doing this.” Seungmin cut Felix off before he could even start answering.

“You must’ve thought about it.” Jisung raised an eyebrow at Seungmin.

“He must’ve heard about it.” Felix smirked devilishly.

Seungmin slammed his head on the table. He was never telling these two about anything ever again.

After some reflection, Seungmin realised maybe he was being a little melodramatic. Not only that, but this tense atmosphere he felt every time Jeongin was over was entirely caused by himself. So he decided to take Felix’s advice and just be civil and keep to himself.

If Jeongin was around, he would say “hey” politely and then just go to his room. If he was ordering food, he would ask if Jeongin wanted anything. Jeongin was an acquaintance to him, a friend of a friend, he had to just leave the past in the past and move on.

Jeongin did not seem to agree.

He met all of Seungmin’s attempts at being cordial with pure ice. When Seungmin greeted him, he would just stare at him and give him a curt nod and when asked if he wanted food, he would simply shrug or say he wasn’t hungry.

This was just life now. Which was fine, Seungmin could live with that. It’s not like Jeongin and Hyunjin are in an actual relationship, this whole thing will probably blow over, they’ll get bored and it’ll be over within the month.

Seungmin didn’t get back from the library until the evening. He had an essay due in 3 days and it was driving him insane. He opened the apartment door, locking it behind him and kicked his shoes off before putting them on the rack. His whole body felt exhausted, which wasn’t uncommon, but it was hitting harder than normal today.

He dumped his bag on the couch and headed to the kitchen to make some dinner since he hadn’t eaten all day. He put on some rice and started chopping up some pork to cook.

As the rice boiled, he took a moment to himself. He stepped back, closing his eyes and took a deep breath.

That was when he heard it.

Creaking. A bed creaking.

Seungmin’s eyes shot wide and suddenly that was all he could focus on.

He could hear quiet grunts and whines through the walls, every ounce of Seungmin’s being begged him to just ignore it, go put on some headphones and pretend this never happened, but he couldn’t seem to move a muscle. This felt weird. Hyunjin had had plenty of hookups over, but never had Seungmin found himself so curious about what was going on behind the door.

Then he heard a loud moan that could only have been Hyunjin from the sound of it. Part of him wanted to gag over the sound of his closest friend getting railed, but another part of him couldn’t stop thinking about how real and raw that sounded… All Seungmin could think of was what Jeongin was doing to him to bring Hyunjin to that level of ecstasy. He heard Hyunjin cry out Jeongin’s name and it made an odd feeling pool deep in Seungmin’s stomach. Hyunjin’s cries got more frequent and it wasn’t long before everything went completely quiet.

Well, that was until the water from the rice bubbled over and Seungmin snapped out of his trance. He cursed under his breath and quickly took the rice off, cleaned up the counter and decided on just plain rice and soy sauce for the night. He just wanted to get out of the kitchen and to the privacy of his own space as fast as possible.

He covered up the pork and put it back in the fridge before darting for his bedroom, shutting the door behind him and letting out a deep breath. He wasn’t even hungry anymore, he managed a couple bites of rice before just abandoning it on his desk. He was normally a bit of a neat freak but today was the exception. He can deal with it in the morning.

He clumsily shed his clothes, throwing on some pyjama pants and a hoodie before collapsing onto his bed with a grunt and almost immediately passing out.

Fuck…” Seungmin’s eyes rolled back, head banging against the headboard as his hands desperately clutched at nothing, trying to ground himself as he was thrust into, rough and hard.

“Look at you… so wrecked for me already.” a low voice mused, making Seungmin whine.

Seungmin’s hands found solace on the bedsheets beneath him, fingers gripping onto the soft fabric, letting out a deep moan as each thrust nailed his prostate head on, his untouched cock in absolute agony, leaking and throbbing.

“On your stomach.” the voice demanded in a tone that made Seungmin’s whole body shiver as he immediately complied, shifting to lay on his belly, head buried in the pillow and arching his back to lift his ass up. A hard slap is planted to his ass, causing him to let out an embarrassing whine before he is immediately filled up again, the relentless thrusts picking up all over again.

The new position gave some relief to Seungmin’s aching cock as it rubbed against the cotton sheets, Seungmin found his hips grinding into the mattress, desperately seeking release as that familiar tightness pulled at his gut and he moaned out loud.

“So close…” he whined, his head was spinning. All he could think about was the overwhelming heat in his stomach. “Faster… fuck…”

His prayers were answered and the thrusts became impossibly quicker and it wasn’t long before Seungmin was panting and whimpering, the knot in his belly about to snap.

“Jeongin..!” he cried out.

Seungmin’s eyes flew open, jolting awake. He tried to sit up but his body was already convulsing as he came over his sheets.

This was a new low.

Once he got his breath back, he just lay there in the uncomfortable, sticky mess for a moment as he contemplated what life decisions led him to this moment. Having a sex dream about Yang Jeongin and humping his mattress to completion.

He was suddenly terrified of his own mind and what it could create. He would never be able to look Jeongin in the eyes again, maybe that was a good thing.

He eventually dragged himself up and bundled up the sheets to stick them in his laundry bag. His apartment didn’t have a washing machine, so he was going to have to go to the laundrette across the street. What kind of humiliation ritual is that? Taking your cum stained bed sheets to the fucking laundrette. Publicly.

He suddenly wondered how Hyunjin was coping with this issue, considering how Jeongin seemed to be over every other day. Surely they were using a towel or something–

No.

No more thoughts of Jeongin having sex. No more thoughts of Jeongin at all for that matter.

He took the world's quickest cold shower, put on clean pyjamas and went straight back to bed. However, he didn’t sleep a wink, too afraid of what his brain would come up with if he did.

It had been a week since the incident Seungmin was trying so hard to forget.

He didn't have time to worry about it anyway, he had essays to finish, books to read, notes to take. So he did what he always did when something upset him, throw himself into his studies even more than he usually would.

Seungmin had always put so much pressure on himself to be the best. Even the thought of failure made him sick to his stomach, it had always been this way. He wasn’t even sure who he was doing this for, since he barely got any recognition anyway. He was valedictorian in high school and his parents didn’t even come to the graduation ceremony since they were busy with work. Seungmin didn’t hold a grudge. He knew that one day he would understand, his father had always told him that his career should be his number one priority and not let anything get in his way, so he supposed that’s just what his parents were doing when they missed out on things.

He hadn’t moved from his spot on the couch all day. It was a Saturday and most of his peers were out enjoying the weekend, it was a warm sunny day after all, but he couldn’t let himself lose focus when he had a test next week.

Jeongin was over, which was fine. He spent most of his time in Hyunjin’s room, only occasionally coming out to grab a snack or some water, and thankfully for Seungmin they weren’t being noisy. They just seemed to be hanging out. Strange.

Even while buried in a textbook, Seungmin could feel Jeongin’s gaze on him every time he emerged from Hyunjin’s room. It made him feel a little uneasy, Jeongin had this stare that could burn right through you even if you weren’t looking back at him. He never spoke once though, just kept watching him for a moment and then disappearing again for another hour or two.

By now, the sun had long since gone down and Seungmin had a pounding headache. The hot sun had turned the apartment into a sauna and even in his shorts and light t-shirt, Seungmin was sweltering and now that the night had fallen, the air was uncomfortable and sticky with humidity. Seungmin wasn’t sure which extreme was worse.

Jeongin emerged again for the first time in a while. The same old routine, he stared at Seungmin as he walked past, went to the kitchen, except this time he didn’t dart straight back to Hyunjin’s room.

A glass of water was placed on the table in front of Seungmin followed by a pot of instant ramen.

“You’re going to make yourself sick.” Jeongin spoke, his voice steady and neutral, not giving away any emotions.

Seungmin’s eyes darted between the ramen and Jeongin, as if he wasn’t sure if it was for him or not. The narrow look in Jeongin’s fox-like eyes told him it was.

He tentatively reached for the ramen and chopsticks, it wasn’t until he took a bite that he realised how hungry he was. He hadn’t eaten all day, had Jeongin noticed?

Jeongin moved around the table and sat on the other side of the couch, he didn’t say anything, just seemed to be deep in his thoughts.

“Look,” Seungmin spoke up, his voice quiet and a little unsure. He wasn’t used to this, to owning up to his own mistakes. “I’m sorry for what I said, about what I assumed. I was an ass for that.”

Jeongin looked up and Seungmin swore his eyes softened a little. “Thanks. You were.”

Seungmin nodded and went back to eating his ramen. He wanted to say something else but all words were lost in the tense atmosphere between them.

“I don’t blame you for thinking that though.” Jeongin spoke, voice thick. “I know what people used to say about me.”

The look on Jeongin’s face made Seungmin’s gut twist. Jeongin had been getting this for years. People assumed everything about him when they didn't even know him, and Seungmin had done exactly that.

“The stuff people would say,” Jeongin looked straight at Seungmin. “Most of it was made up. About me hooking up with every girl in school.”

Seungmin didn’t know what to say. He wanted to say he was sorry, but he could tell Jeongin didn’t want pity, especially from Seungmin of all people.

“Why did you never say anything?” Seungmin’s voice came out a little more rough than he planned.

“I guess the attention felt nice. For a while at least.” Jeongin spoke, a strange bittersweet smile pulling at his lips. It felt forced.

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be.”

“That must’ve been hard. Nobody knowing the real you.” Seungmin swallowed.

“I try not to dwell on the past.” Jeongin spoke, his voice straight in a way that made Seungmin think there was more to this than Jeongin was letting on.

“You’re allowed to.” Seungmin added. “Dwell on the past. I know I do.”

“That explains a lot.” Jeongin scoffed.

Seungmin gave him a look. Seungmin felt oddly offended despite not even being sure what he meant. He supposed that he maybe lived in the past from time to time, but the way Jeongin said it made it seem like it was a bad thing.

“Sorry. That was rude.” Jeongin spoke up, rubbing his temples with his fingers and scolding himself.

“All good. I guess I’m kinda rude to you too sometimes.” Seungmin shrugged. Jeongin’s words had hurt a little but he wasn’t going to admit that. He didn’t need Jeongin seeing him weak with his guard down.

Jeongin let out a little laugh at Seungmin’s honesty.

It wasn’t often Seungmin actually took responsibility for his own actions, but he felt like he owed it to Jeongin.

“Whatever.” Jeongin sighed as he pushed himself up off of the couch. “Make sure to keep drinking water, and don’t stay up too long. Get some rest.” Jeongin grumbled as if he was being held against his will to care for Seungmin.

“Yeah. Sure.” Seungmin nodded and watched as Jeongin retreated back to Hyunjin’s room for the last time that night.

With how busy their lives had gotten as finals approached, it had been a while since Seungmin and Hyunjin had actually hung out properly. They used to always make time at least once a week to have dinner together, but with Seungmin’s peculiar study schedule and the addition of Jeongin into Hyunjin’s life, they had fallen out of that habit. But today they were both finally free and had ordered in Chinese food from their favourite restaurant to catch up properly.

Hyunjin grabbed some beer bottles from the fridge, cracking them open while Seungmin took the plastic containers from the delivery bag and set them on the table.

“Thanks for grabbing those granola bars for me, by the way. That new tea as well, looks good.” Seungmin spoke, remembering how he had found his cupboard in the kitchen unexpectedly stocked up earlier. “I keep meaning to go to the store, how much do I owe you?”

Hyunjin stopped what he was doing, turning to look at Seungmin with a puzzled expression. “I didn’t buy you anything?”

Oh.

The only other person who had been in their apartment was Jeongin.

But why on earth would Jeongin have bought snacks and tea for Seungmin? Surely he had bought them for Hyunjin and placed them in the wrong cupboard. The only issue with that theory is that Hyunjin hates the taste of tea, and he’s known to be fairly loud about his opinions so surely Jeongin would have known that.

It was black tea, which Seungmin had read online was great for focus when working or studying, he had meant to try it but was always forgetting to pick it up.

Hyunjin laughed as he placed the beers on their small dining table. “You must be delirious from studying if you can’t remember buying them.” he took a seat opposite Seungmin. “Maybe you’re sleepwalking to the store.”

For once, Seungmin was thankful for Hyunjin’s pure obliviousness. He just let out a slightly uncomfortable laugh and started dishing food onto his plate.

“So,” Hyunjin spoke up as he scooped up some noodles and shovelled them into his mouth.

“So?” Seungmin replied, eyebrow raised in intrigue.

“Whats your problem with Jeongin?” Hyunjin stated, straight to the point as always. Seungmin had expected this much. He wondered how much, if anything, Jeongin had already told Hyunjin, not knowing made him feel uneasy.

“We went to school together. Didn’t get along.” Seungmin shrugged casually, taking a bite of chicken.

Hyunjin tutted, giving Seungmin a pointed look that told Seungmin he knew there was more to it.

“He was just annoying, okay? He got on my nerves.” Seungmin replied.

“Cut the crap. I know you, Seungmin. You don’t just hold grudges because someone kind of annoyed you.”

Seungmin sighed exasperatedly. “What? Do you want me to detail everything he has ever done to annoy me?”

Hyunjin rolled his eyes, swallowing thickly. “No. I want to know why you can’t stand to look him in the eyes.”

“Respectfully, Hyunjin, this has nothing to do with you.” Seungmin tried to keep his voice steady but he was growing increasingly frustrated. He didn’t want to talk about the past. He had made peace with it all and the last thing he needed was to dig it all back up again, especially with finals coming up and he was already stressed.

“You’re impossible!” Hyunjin groaned. “Something clearly happened or you wouldn’t be so cagey and–”

“He kissed me, okay?” Seungmin cut him off, he hadn’t meant to shout but his voice came out a lot louder than he intended.

Hyunjin stared at him, completely frozen.

“Right before graduation. He was trying to throw me off before my speech and then he just… kissed me.” Seungmin spoke, his whole body stiff and voice thick. “And he succeeded because I totally fucked up my speech. Just one final stupid fucking joke.” he slammed his hand down on the table in anger, causing all the dishes and cutlery to clank.

Hyunjin let out a long breath and just kept staring at Seungmin. For the first time in the years they had known each other, Hwang Hyunjin was speechless.

Seungmin wasn’t sure what he wanted Hyunjin to say in response, but this silence was definitely at the bottom of his preference list. He didn’t need this right now, not with all he had going on. Not while he had a hundred assignments and countless tests that he had to be on top of his game for. He had a simple life. He only cared about one thing for the time being and that was being top of his classes and becoming a successful lawyer and if it wasn’t for Yang Jeongin, he would still be on track as normal for that. Ever since Jeongin and his perfect fucking face showed up in his home, he had been thrown completely off the rails. He didn’t know why he couldn’t focus or why his usually academia focused mind was suddenly filled with thoughts of one certain ginger haired, fox-like boy but he wanted him out of his life. He wished he had never come into it in the first place.

He couldn’t take this anymore.

He got up from his chair, shoving it out of his way before Hyunjin grabbed his wrist.

“No, you’re not chickening out now. We’re talking about this.” Hyunjin spoke, his voice sharper than Seungmin had heard before. “You might think this doesn’t affect me but it does, because you barely come out of your room anymore and Jeongin has been acting weird for who knows how long and I can’t take it anymore!”

Seungmin opened his mouth to rebut but Hyunjin just held a hand up.

“No, I’m talking now. You’re being a child, Seungmin. A selfish little child and you need to learn that the world doesn’t revolve around you. Not everything Jeongin has ever done in his life is because he wanted to annoy you. Do you know how egotistical that sounds?”

Seungmin had been put in his place by Felix countless times but this was different. This hurt. It made a horrible sickly feeling form in the pit of his stomach. His friendship with Hyunjin has always been so casual. They would laugh and bitch about people they knew but Seungmin could count on one hand the amount of times they had had an actual fight, and even then those were all just over trivial things. This was real.

Seungmin didn’t know what Hyunjin wanted from him. Just pretend to be friends with Jeongin just so he could continue having sex with him? And if Jeongin was acting weird, what did that have to do with Seungmin?

Hyunjin cleared his throat awkwardly and slowly sat back down in his seat. “I shouldn’t have yelled like that.”

“I think I deserved it.” Seungmin swallowed and also sat back down.

“You know, I do care about you. A lot more than you know.” Hyunjin met Seungmin’s eyes again, his words were filled with nothing but pure sincerity. “If Jeongin had seriously hurt you, I would cut him off without a second thought.”

Hyunjin reached across the table and placed his hand on top of Seungmin’s. It was a very strange action, one that Hyunjin had never done before but it was oddly soothing.

“Whether or not I want to admit it, you’re kind of my best friend.” Hyunjin spoke, mumbling the last part embarrassedly under his breath. “Which is all the more reason why I need you to listen to me.”

Seungmin sighed. “I’m sorry.” the words felt so unfamiliar on his tongue. He never needed to apologise, he was usually in the right anyway. Maybe that was the mindset Hyunjin was talking about… “I should have thought about you more and the position I was putting you in by… being childish.”

Hyunjin let out a slow breath and they just sat in the stillness for a moment.

Seungmin was glad Hyunjin knew him well enough to not make this into a big emotional moment.

“Did you ever consider that Jeongin kissing you wasn’t a prank?” Hyunjin asked, his words careful.

He hadn’t. Because he didn’t have to. Yang Jeongin had spent their high school years aggravating Seungmin just to get a kick out of Seungmin’s annoyance, so of course it made perfect sense that he would want one final act of trouble to send him off. Seungmin had worked so hard on his valedictorian speech that there was no way he would mess it up over just some simple prank. So Jeongin had to pull something completely unexpected to truly get under his skin.

Seungmin didn’t go to any of the graduation parties or farewell events after that. He was too embarrassed. He was known by his peers for having nerves of steel, nothing could phase him. His head was always screwed on straight and he put his duties as student council president above everything else. People respected him. Whether or not they liked him didn’t matter, he had respect and as far as he knew that was the one thing that mattered in this world. That’s what his father had always taught him.

Plus, if Hyunjin was right and Jeongin hadn’t kissed him as a prank, then that would mean Jeongin had liked Seungmin. The thought of that was ridiculous.

Seungmin didn’t consider himself unattractive per se, he was a fairly good looking guy, he took care of himself and all. But he had never really received any romantic attention. Maybe it was because of how long it took him to truly figure out his sexuality, realising he liked guys in early high school but spent years in denial because being gay wasn’t part of his life plan and he had no idea how he would tell his parents who still don’t know to this day. He never really made a big deal of coming out, it just wasn’t his style. He told his friends on a need to know basis, and he supposed the rest of them just guessed over time. He had hooked up with a couple guys at parties just to explore and experiment but he quickly learned that the casual sex life wasn’t for him, just sex without a connection didn’t do it for him.

But on the other hand, it wasn’t like he had guys knocking down his door to ask him on dates and God knows Seungmin isn’t approaching people in coffee shops and flirting, so he just kind of stayed alone. It didn’t bother him, he had to focus on his studies right now. But he knew one day he would want to settle down, and he did lay awake sometimes wondering how he would do that with his lack of experience and prospects.

“Earth to Seungmin?”

Hyunjin’s voice pulled him out of his spiralling thoughts, Seungmin stared at him with a slightly dazed expression.

“Didn’t mean to freak you out.” Hyunjin spoke as he took a bite of his food. “Just food for thought.”

Seungmin didn’t appreciate Hyunjin’s food for thought one bit.

In fact, he wished Hyunjin had never planted that seed in his head in the first place because it had now rooted itself deep into every part of his body, roots tangling through every groove of his brain and sprouting on each of his arteries.

It had become a weed that Seungmin just couldn’t kill.

It kept him up at night, when he would think back to every interaction he could remember from high school and wondering if he had maybe remembered it all wrong. Maybe there was a puzzle piece he was missing, and he needed to find it to put his mind at rest.

The issue with his search for this mysterious fragment, was that it was starting to interfere with his school work. He was consistently finding himself zoning out as he was reading paragraphs, his mind blanking while he tried to write essays. It was driving him crazy.

Jeongin’s constant presence in his life didn’t make his turmoil any easier to deal with either. It actually felt like Jeongin was around more than ever, maybe it was because they were on talking terms now. Jeongin didn’t just camp out in Hyunjin’s room and Seungmin didn’t just avoid him altogether. If he was honest, he felt like Jeongin was spending more time outside of Hyunjin’s room, leaning against the door and talking to Seungmin than he did actually inside of Hyunjin’s bedroom. As much as it pained him to admit it, Seungmin was starting to enjoy their conversations. Jeongin would ask him about what he was working on and then complain about some assignment he had. He had told Seungmin a few stories about what he had gotten up to in his gap year, would ask if Seungmin was eating and drinking enough while studying and even managed the impossible of making Seungmin laugh a fair few times.

Seungmin was starting to look forward to him popping his head out and fussing over him.

Even if he was annoying.

Tonight, all three of them were in the living room watching some drama Hyunjin had heard about online, he said it looked like something Seungmin and Jeongin would like, Seungmin had his doubts about this.

It was alright, just a bit too much sappy romance for his liking. But he was a good friend, so he persevered and sat through it quietly. He and Jeongin sat on their couch which was not nearly big enough for three people while Hyunjin sat on the floor, leaning back between Jeongin’s legs. Jeongin would occasionally reach down and play with the long strands of Hyunjin’s hair and the sight made Seungmin tense for a reason he wasn’t sure of.

It had just hit midnight when Hyunjin yawned, stretching his arms above his head.

“I’m calling it a night. I have a 9am lecture tomorrow.” he groaned in displeasure and got up from the floor.

“Night, Jinnie-ah.” Jeongin spoke, his voice also sounding pretty sleepy.

“Good night.” Seungmin replied simply, taking a drink from the water glass on the coffee table as he watched Hyunjin disappear into his bedroom.

He’d probably stay up at least another couple hours, he knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway so he might as well finish this drama that the other two had abandoned.

He expected Jeongin to follow, or say he was going home, but he didn’t. He just stayed, sitting on the couch next to Seungmin.

Seungmin had noticed how Jeongin had been less than interested in this show the whole night, he had been picking at threads on his hoodie and staring into space, clearly bored. So Seungmin failed to see why he was sticking around for the ending.

He just ignored his presence altogether and went back to focusing on the TV. He would occasionally hear a yawn from Jeongin but other than that it was pretty easy to just ignore him.

That was until he felt a weight fall onto his shoulder.

He turned his head just enough to see the ball of auburn hair resting on his shoulder. Jeongin’s chest was rising and falling slowly, he was fast asleep. On Seungmin.

It took a moment for Seungmin’s mind to fully comprehend what the fuck was going on.

He wasn’t sure what to do in this situation. The obvious choice was to shove him off, but what if he woke up? Seungmin wasn’t sure he could deal with the awkwardness of that scenario.

Jeongin wasn’t hurting him or anything, he was just sleeping. He hadn’t done this intentionally, and Seungmin could only imagine how mortified he would be if the roles were reversed and Jeongin shook him awake and told him to piss off.

So, it was decided. He would just leave Jeongin be.

And that plan was fine, until 2 hours had passed and Seungmin realised he hadn’t planned that far ahead.

The show had finished and he was now just watching the next thing that was recommended, Jeongin was now curled into his side and Seungmin’s arm was completely dead.

He turned his head to look at Jeongin again, he had a slightly better view of Jeongin’s face now and he looked so peaceful and relaxed. It was strange to see him without his signature cocky grin, almost unnerving.

“Jeongin.” he whispered. Nothing.

“Hey, Jeongin.” he tried again, a little louder this time but still nothing.

He gave Jeongin a gentle shake but he didn’t even stir. God, he must have been really tired. Seungmin felt a little bad, maybe he really needed this rest.

He cut his losses and prayed to god that Jeongin wouldn’t wake up and lifted his body up in a bridal carry. It was a bit of a struggle since even though Seungmin was taller than Jeongin, Jeongin was a lot more muscular and therefore heavier.

He managed to manouver him to Hyunjins’s bedroom (with great difficulty), kicking the door open and walking over to the bed.

“Huh?” Hyunjin grumbled, half asleep.

“Your problem.” Seungmin mumbled under his breath, lowering Jeongin’s body onto Hyunjin’s mattress and let out a sigh of relief.

He left the room without another word and he and Hyunjin never spoke of it again.

Tonight he finally had the apartment to himself, some peace and quiet to try and get some work done and he was extremely thankful. Hyunjin had gone to some party and texted Seungmin to say he was just going to sleep over at Changbin’s since it was late and he had missed the last bus.

Seungmin was enjoying his respite when the doorbell rang, which was weird considering it was close to midnight.

And then it rung again.

And again.

At this point it was pretty much a constant, jarring ringing sound so Seungmin had no choice but to investigate it. He walked over to the door and as soon as he opened it, a very clearly drunk Jeongin stumbled into his apartment, grunting as he fell onto the couch.

Seungmin was still standing at the open door, not entirely sure what had just happened.

If Jeongin had been at the same party which Hyunjin was at, which he had to assume he was, that meant he would have either walked over two miles while absolutely hammered, or had paid the ridiculous taxi fee it would cost to get here. Seungmin wasn’t sure if he wanted to know which was true.

Surely he was finally going delirious from the lack of sleep because surely this wasn’t real life. But lately Seungmin was starting to realise that anything was possible since Yang Jeongin reentered his life.

“Seungminnie…” Jeongin whined from the couch, the sound nasally and high pitched in a way that made Seungmin’s stomach twist a little. His arms were reached out and he was making grabby hands at him, Seungmin didn’t want to admit how adorable he looked.

Seungmin accepted that this was his new plan for the night and closed the door before walking over to the couch. As soon as he was in reach of Jeongin’s hands, he grabbed onto Seungmin’s arm and tugged him over. Seungmin lost his balance and stumbled, falling onto the couch and landing straight on top of Jeongin.

Time stood still for a moment. Seungmin had braced his hands either side of Jeongin’s head in an attempt to not completely squish him and Jeongin was staring up at him with the dopiest, carefree grin Seungmin had ever seen. He couldn’t deny the way his heart skipped a beat at the sight of Jeongin sprawled out beneath him, face red and hair messy. Part of him wished he could take a picture of the scene in front of him.

Then he realised what he was doing, which was staring. While straddling him no less.

He quickly scampered back once he regained control of his limbs, sitting on the far side of the couch while Jeongin’s feet still pressed against the side of his thigh.

“Come back…” Jeongin whined again. Okay, so Jeongin was a whiny drunk. That’s fine. That definitely isn’t information that will haunt Seungmin.

Seungmin reached for the half empty glass of water on the coffee table that he had been drinking from while studying, he would much rather get Jeongin a fresh one but he genuinely feared that Jeongin would have a fit if he left his sight. “Sit up and drink.”

A half-giggle half-hiccup escaped Jeongin’s lips as he reached for the glass. “Whatever you say…” he took a long sip as he watched Seungmin through his lashes.

“Thought you would be with Hyunjin.” Seungmin spoke, trying not to meet Jeongin’s eyes while keeping his voice steady and free of any bitterness.

“He abandoned me for Changbin.” Jeongin replied, his voice a childish mocking tone. “I knew this would happen eventually.”

Seungmin furrowed his brow. “What do you mean?”

“I’m just a placeholder. He keeps on saying Changbin’s name in bed.”

Seungmin almost choked on his own saliva, eyes bulging out of their sockets. He knew he had been pretty out of the loop recently, but this was huge. How did he know nothing about it?

“It’s fine though. I think about you when we fuck anyway.” Jeongin slurred.

What.

Surely he had heard him wrong. Surely he had said something completely irrelevant, and Seungmin’s tired, stressed out brain had just muddled the words up.

“I’m just clever enough to not say it out loud.” Jeongin continued to murmur as if he hadn’t just thrown a complete curve ball that had changed Seungmin’s perspective on everything he knew.

Seungmin didn’t even know what was going through his head right now. It was a complete mess, as if it hadn’t already been before. He felt completely insane, Jeongin’s words looping around and around in Seungmin’s head like a broken record. Yes, Jeongin was drunk off his head. But Seungmin had heard people say before that drunken words were just sober truths.

“But shh…” Jeongin placed a finger over his mouth, the pad of his finger pressing into his plump lips in a way which made Seungmin’s heart stutter. “Don’t tell Seungmin…”

Seungmin wanted to laugh. He probably would have, if he wasn’t knee deep in emotional turmoil. Jeongin was far too cute like this for his own good. It made Seungmin want to look after him, protect him and keep him safe.

That was what made him realise he needed to stop indulging in Jeongin’s unusually vulnerable and truthful state and do exactly that. Take care of him.

“You’re gonna have one hell of a hangover tomorrow, mister.” he spoke as he rose to his feet, he wasn’t sure where the nickname came from but it made Jeongin giggle so he didn’t really care.

Seungmin darted about, gathering bits and pieces before returning to Jeongin who looked half asleep already. He took a moment just to admire the sight in front of him. He had always known Jeongin to be constantly full of energy, all big grins and teasing remarks, but right now he looked so peaceful and soft. He looked almost fragile as he lay there, cheeks flushed and lips parted slightly as his eyelashes fluttered against his cheeks. His chest rose and fell gently and Seungmin could hear every soft breath, music to his ears. He had to hold himself back from reaching down and caressing the soft skin of his cheek.

Instead, he withheld from his urges and tapped Jeongin’s shoulder gently to get his attention. “Hey, take off your jacket for me.” he instructed as he moved to crouch down at the other end of the couch to unlace the younger’s Converse.

Jeongin did as he was asked, shrugging off his leather jacket and tossed it on the floor, watching Seungmin with a goofy smile the whole time.

When Seungmin caught a glimpse of the smile on Jeongin’s face his heart did a somersault and he was suddenly glad that Jeongin was drunk and delirious, because he wasn’t able to tease Seungmin for the blush on his cheeks. He took Jeongin’s shoes and picked up the jacket off the floor, setting them aside.

“Whatcha doing?” Jeongin sang from the couch.

“Taking care of your drunk ass.”

Jeongin just giggled.

Seungmin liked Jeongin like this.

Seungmin grabbed the blanket he had gathered earlier and unfolded it before draping the soft fabric over Jeongin’s body.

“You gotta tuck me in…” Jeongin spoke with a childlike grin that there was no way Seungmin could say no to, so he patted the blanket flat, tucking it in at Jeongin’s sides. He pulled the blanket up to his neck and it was now impossible not to look at his sweet, sleepy face.

“Head.” he instructed, swallowing thickly as he grabbed the spare pillow from the coffee table.

“Anything for you, Seungminnie…” Jeongin teased, the end of his words punctuated with a hiccup and the obvious innuendo made Seungmin choke on air. Maybe there was a little bit of the regular Jeongin still peaking through this soft and clingy persona.

“Shush, you.” Seungmin huffed but he couldn’t hide the slight smile that graced his lips and brought the pillow underneath Jeongin’s head. “There’s water on the coffee table and some painkillers if you need them.”

Seungmin wasn’t used to being so affectionate with people. He could count on one hand the amount of times he had cared for someone like this and the amount of times he had spoken to someone so tenderly the way he found himself doing now. It was like he wasn’t even in control of his brain anymore but he didn’t hate the feeling.

“Goodnight.” Seungmin felt like there was something missing on the end of his words, there was some sappy pet name on the tip of his tongue but he held back.

“Don’t leave… please…” Jeongin murmured.

“Huh?”

“Can you stay here with me?” Jeongin opened his droopy eyes to look at Seungmin and the look in them made Seungmin’s heart ache. “Don’t wan’ be alone…”

Seungmin swallowed. “Sure.”

To be fair, this wasn’t a bad situation to be in. He could go back to reading his book from earlier and get some work done to make up for the time he lost. Win win.

Seungmin sank to the floor in front of the couch, shifting awkwardly as he tried to figure out the best way to position himself.

Jeongin was immediately whining again and making fake sobbing noises. “Seungmin…

Jeongin really had to stop whining Seungmin’s name like that or Seungmin was gonna hear that sound in his dreams forever more.

“What is it, baby?”

Seungmin immediately realised what he had said the moment the first syllable rolled off his tongue. It just felt so natural and he thanked god once again that Jeongin was too intoxicated to realise what Seungmin had let slip.

This is why Jeongin had to stop whining Seungmin’s name.

Jeongin reached a hand from beneath the blanket and the grabby hands were back again. Seungmin wasn’t sure what the other wanted, so he reached up to fix Jeongin’s blanket and he grabbed Seungmin’s hand.

That was what he wanted.

The feeling was strange at first, but it was a pleasant feeling, comforting somewhat. For the first time in days, Seungmin just felt at peace. His mind wasn’t running a mile a minute looking for answers that he wasn’t sure he would ever find. He wasn’t worrying about his workload and exams. He was just relaxed.

“Night night, Seungminnie…” Jeongin whispered as his breathing slowed, he mumbled something else but his face was half buried in the pillow so it was too muffled for Seungmin to make out.

Seungmin just watched Jeongin for a bit after that. He didn’t usually get the chance to study him in such a way, enough to count each and every eyelash and trace over each curve with his eyes. He couldn’t deny that Jeongin was the most beautiful man he had ever seen. Even back in high school when he hated him, he couldn’t deny how attractive he was, maybe that was what made him even more annoying.

Seungmin hadn’t even noticed the way he thought about not liking Jeongin as something in the past tense.

He had always found it difficult to understand his own mind on a regular day but now it was a complete mess. It was exhausting, draining, thrilling and a whole range of other feelings that Seungmin didn’t even have the words for. He didn’t understand the feelings he was having for Jeongin and that terrified him. They were new, unknown feelings, or maybe they had been there all along and Seungmin had only just fully discovered how deep they went.

Even with his face blotchy and red from the alcohol, he was ethereal to Seungmin.

He feared what would happen when Jeongin opened his eyes the next morning. Would he still be holding Seungmin’s hand? If he was, would he pull away in horror and tell Seungmin to go away. Would he just stay quiet and watch Seungmin in the way Seungmin was watching him now?

He didn’t want to think about that right now.

He sighed and accepted he wasn’t getting any work done. He took one final long glance at Jeongin’s sleeping form before shifting on the floor a bit, resting his head against the edge of the couch cushion and closing his eyes, fingers still intertwined with Jeongin’s.

He wished he would just stay like this forever and not face tomorrow at all.

He woke up the next morning to someone grumbling and it took a minute for him to remember where he was and why his ass hurt so much.

His ass unfortunately didn’t hurt from getting railed, it hurt from sleeping sitting on hardwood floors.

The first thing he noticed once his memories were back was that he was no longer holding Jeongin’s hand which he was a little disappointed about. To be fair, it was a bit ridiculous of him to think they would still be holding hands considering how awkward and slightly uncomfortable the position was. One of them probably just let go in the middle of the night. Seungmin was pretty sure it wasn’t him.

“What the hell…” Jeongin groaned, his voice was low and raspy from sleep and the sound made Seungmin’s mouth go dry.

“Morning,” Seungmin said as he stretched. “You crashed here last night.” he added, not sure how much of the previous night Jeongin would even remember.

Jeongin just groaned again, slowly sitting up on the couch and rubbing his forehead with the palm of his hand. He wasn’t saying much and it made Seungmin feel uneasy.

This was awkward. More awkward than Seungmin’s sub par small talk skills can work with.

“Painkillers?” Seungmin offered, pushing himself to his feet with great difficulty since had had lost most of the feeling in his legs. Jeongin just nodded and Seungmin went to the kitchen to grab some painkillers and two glasses of water before returning back. Jeongin was now sat up completely, legs crossed and the blanket lain just across his lap, Seungmin handed him one of the glasses and some pills before taking a seat on the other side of the couch and taking a sip of his own water.

The silence was deafening. Seungmin hated it. Jeongin looked rough, so he can’t imagine he would appreciate awkward small talk so he just stayed quiet but he wished he could ask a million questions. The main one being how much he remembered from the night before.

“You wanna take a shower? Might help you feel more alive..” Seungmin suggested, trying to add a bit of comedy in there but it fell a bit flat. “You can change into some of my clothes. Or Hyunjin’s. I guess that makes more sense.” he swallowed thickly, feeling the tips of his ears heat up at the thought of Jeongin in his clothes.

“Yeah… sounds good.” Jeongin ran a rand through his messy hair and pushed himself off of the couch, discarding the blanket over the arm of it. He stood and looked at Seungmin expectantly.

Did he want Seungmin to join him?!

Surely not. But then why was he looking at Seungmin as if he was waiting for him to do something, to make his next move–

“Um, the clothes?”

Oh. That’s what he was waiting for. The clothes Seungmin had offered less than 30 seconds ago and promptly forgotten about.

“Ah. Um– Yeah. The clothes.” Seungmin scrambled to his feet, booking it for his room before Jeongin could notice how red he had gone. He opened his drawer and grabbed the first t-shirt and sweats he could find, thankfully they were baggier sweats since Jeongin had a slightly bigger build than him.

He reemerged from his room and passed them to Jeongin. “I’ll make some breakfast while you’re in there”

“Thanks.” Jeongin nodded, there was a small smile on his face but it seemed a bit forced. Seungmin told himself it was just the hangover. Or at least he hoped that was the case.

While Jeongin showered, Seungmin got to work in the kitchen. He googled what the best foods were for hangovers and he thankfully already had a lot of it in the fridge. He made some toast with avocado and eggs, it seemed pretty neutral which was good since he realised he had no idea what foods Jeongin did and didn’t like.

He brought the plates over to the coffee table along with two black coffees and sat awkwardly on the couch as he waited.

The atmosphere between the two felt strange. More so than usual. After seeing Jeongin in such a vulnerable state last night, Seungmin feared he would never be able to look at him the same way as he did before. A ball of something strange had settled right between his ribs and it would press against them every time Jeongin looked his way.

He was pulled from his thoughts at the sound of the bathroom door opening and his eyes darted to the source of the noise and he immediately regretted it. The sweatpants hung low on his hips, the fabric of the white t-shirt clung to his muscles. He had a towel in his hands, rubbing his damp hair with it, he definitely looked a lot fresher and more alive than earlier. Jeongin hung the towel around his neck and collapsed onto the sofa with a sigh.

“I definitely needed that.” he grumbled.

Seungmin chuckled. “Now get some food in you,” he gestured towards the plate and Jeongin’s eyes lit up.

“Looks good.” He was clearly trying not to seem too eager as he reached for the plate, lifting up one piece of the toast and taking a huge bite. He literally moaned as he was chewing and Seungmin had to shovel his own food into his mouth to stop him from doing something he would regret.

“This tastes so good,” Jeongin spoke, mouth still full of food. “You’re a good cook, hyung.”

Seungmin almost choked on his own food. “Since when do you call me hyung?”

The tips of Jeongin’s ears flushed red. “Oh, sorry… it just slipped out.”

His embarrassment was sort of cute, but at the same time, Seungmin didn’t want him to feel bad. “It’s okay, you can call me hyung if you want to.”

Jeongin just smiled and took another bite of toast, he had practically finished the whole slice in two bites. Cute.

Seungmin was starting to realise that Jeongin might just be the most adorable person he had ever met. Everything he did, even the simplest of actions, was so endearing and had fondness quite literally seeping out of Seungmin’s pores.

The only sounds in the room was the clinking of mugs on the coffee table and each of them munching at their toast. Seungmin wasn’t a fan of silences like this, he usually found himself panicked, wracking his brain at how to fill them but right now he felt oddly comfortable. It felt domestic. It felt natural, like he was right where he was supposed to be.

“Can we talk about something?” Jeongin suddenly spoke up, placing his empty plate on the coffee table, picking up his mug between both hands and turning his body on the couch to face Seungmin better.

“What’s up?” Seungmin replied, a little nervous as to what he was going to bring up.

“It’s about high school.”

Seungmin swallowed. Surely this wasn’t going to end well. He nodded for Jeongin to continue.

“About… graduation.” Jeongin’s eyes scanned over Seungmin’s face, clearly trying to read his reaction.

“Oh.” Was all Seungmin could muster.

“Yeah.”

Jeongin was clearly deep in thought trying to think of the words, so Seungmin stayed silent to let him speak despite how much he wanted to beg him not to bring this up.

“I’m sorry.” Jeongin spoke, his purely sincere gaze burning into Seungmin’s soul.

Seungmin just breathed. After the past few years, he wasn’t sure what he had wanted from Jeongin after that day. He had been angry, annoyed, but he had never even considered getting an apology from him.

“I… shouldn’t have kissed you like that,” he continued. “It was way out of line for me. I never meant to freak you out or make you uncomfortable.”

Seungmin wasn’t sure what to say. Jeongin’s words looped over and over in his head, he thought of every possible interpretation of those words and then thought back to what Hyunjin’s words from before. The ball of something in his chest grew.

“But also,” Jeongin looked down at his coffee, his voice not quite as strong as before. “It hurt, I guess.”

Seungmin snapped out of his daze, he must have made a very odd face because Jeongin chuckled a little.

“I mean… I took my shot and you looked disgusted by me.” Jeongin winced, forcing a pained laugh. “And then you screamed at me.”

In all the time he had spent thinking back on that moment, he had failed to consider how Jeongin had felt. He never thought about how joke or not, screaming was not the best plan of action.

“Yeah I… I wasn’t the most well adjusted in high school.” Seungmin rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, a little embarrassed to admit that.

“Tell me about it.” Jeongin chuckled.

“Huh?”

“I wasn’t exactly well adjusted either. Or any level of adjusted for that matter.”

Seungmin couldn’t help but laugh a little, the air finally felt a little lighter.

“Sorry about your speech too. I gathered that you messing up was down to me.” Jeongin spoke, his voice surprisingly sheepish in a way that Seungmin had never seen from him before.

“It’s fine.” Seungmin waved a hand dismissively. “My parents didn’t even show and they were the only ones I cared about seeing it.” he shrugged, far too nonchalantly considering he had cried himself to sleep that night and that he is still haunted by the memory now.

Jeongin’s face crumpled a bit. “Your parents didn’t come to your graduation?”

“Nope.”

“But… you were valedictorian. That’s huge.”

Seungmin just shrugged again. “They were busy, I get it.”

Jeongin just stared at Seungmin with this concerned look in his eyes, like Seungmin had just told him that someone had died.

“What?” Seungmin frowned.

“Nothing. I guess I just always assumed your parents would be like, crazy proud of you. Take any opportunity to show you off.” Jeongin answered.

“That couldn’t be further from the truth.” Seungmin laughed bitterly. “Work was their priority. I was just an heir to the family name I guess.”

Seungmin sighed and leaned back on the couch, he wasn’t sure why he found himself opening up to Jeongin. He barely ever spoke about his family, even to Hyunjin. But suddenly he just wanted to tell someone, and conveniently Jeongin was right here and he seemed to be genuinely listening.

“Everything I’ve ever done was to make them proud, to impress them.” He spoke. “I worked so hard. Studied for hours, joined every extra curricular, anything I could do to gain their approval but when I told them they would just nod and move on.”

Jeongin shuffled up a little on the couch, his hand coming to rest on Seungmin’s shoulder in silent support. Seungmin’s heart jumped at the sudden touch, but it was comforting.

“Even now, I’m top of my classes at law school for fucks sake.” He laughed, the sound filled with frustration. “And when I go home it’s just the same. No well done or we’re proud of you, just, good.

“I had no idea.” Jeongin whispered, “I’m so sorry.”

Seungmin turned his head to meet Jeongin’s eyes, smiling slightly. “It’s okay.”

“No, it’s not I–” Jeongin sucked in a deep breath. “I just assumed someone as perfect as you couldn’t have any problems in their life.”

“Perfect?” Seungmin's brow raised with a barely contained smirk.

“You know what I mean.” Jeongin used the hand on Seungmin’s shoulder to smack his arm gently.

“I think you mean that you think I’m perfect.” Seungmin grinned.

“You’re so annoying.”

“Thought I was perfect?”

“Shut up!”

Both of them just laughed for a moment. Pure, carefree laughter. It was funny, Seungmin hated talking about his feelings, or anything to do with himself for that matter, but with Jeongin right now it was all just flowing out of him. He knew he should probably stop himself before he let slip something that ruin whatever they had going on here, but at the same time it felt so freeing and he never wanted to stop.

“I know a thing or two about asshole parents.” Jeongin sighed, looking up at the ceiling.

“Yeah?” Seungmin turned in the same way Jeongin did to him before to show he was listening completely. He wanted to know Jeongin, every part of him both good and bad.

“My dad left when I was a kid.” Jeongin said, his expression was neutral and didn’t really give anything away. It was almost like he was numb to it, Seungmin supposed that if it was so long ago, maybe he was. “My nom didn’t take it well. I think I just reminded her too much of him because she just did the bare minimum for me after that.”

Seungmin frowned. Part of him wished Jeongin would stop staring at that damn ceiling so he could see his face and try to read him, and so that he could see the care and sincerity in Seungmin’s eyes.

“She fed me and shit, but that was it really.” He shrugged, it made Seungmin’s heart ache how casually he spoke about it. “She was out drinking most of the time, when she was around she didn’t wanna be near me.”

“Jeongin, I–”

“I don’t want pity.” Jeongin finally turned his head to look at Seungmin and the look in his eyes nearly broke him. He was clearly trying to hide how affected he was but Seungmin could see the deep hurt in his gaze.

“Did you ever tell anyone?” Seungmin asked.

“Nope.” Jeongin pressed his lips together into a thin line. “I just got on with it, and moved out as soon as I turned 18.”

Seungmin let out a long breath. Just like Jeongin, he had never even considered that Jeongin might have had issues a whole lot bigger than annoying Seungmin back then. He really had been self centred.

“To be honest, that’s why I acted out in school so much.” Jeongin admitted. “I used to do it so they’d call my mom in and she would have to pay attention to me. Pathetic, right?” he laughed.

“No.” Seungmin furrowed his brow. “Jeongin, that isn’t pathetic at all. You were just a kid…”

Jeongin just shrugged. “So yeah, I’m sorry for all the times I went out of my way to piss you off. It was kind of the only way I knew how to get attention.”

Seungmin let out a long breath. “And I’m sorry for being a bit of a narcissist.”

“A bit?” Jeongin laughed.

“A big bit.”

“A very big bit.” Jeongin tilted his head, biting his lip to suppress a smirk.

Seungmin rolled his eyes and rested his head against the back of the couch, he was only just realising now how close they were sitting. “Guess we’re both pretty fucked up.”

“All the best people are, you know.”

“Suppose you’re right. You turned out pretty cool.”

“A compliment from Kim Seungmin? Well I never.” Jeongin’s grin grew even bigger if that was humanly possible.

Seungmin let out a startled laugh. “I’m perfectly capable of giving compliments.”

“I genuinely think that’s the first time I’ve heard a genuine one from you.”

“No way. I’m a great complimenter.” Seungmin puffed his chest dramatically, earning a laugh from Jeongin.

“Alright, shoot then.” Jeongin chuckled.

“You have the best laugh I’ve ever heard.” Seungmin spoke, his voice a bit more hoarse than he had planned for.

Jeongin clearly wasn’t expecting that, his eyes widening slightly, lips forming a cute ‘o’ shape.

“Your smile too,” Seungmin continued, Jeongin had unknowingly broken the dam and there was no stopping him now. “Seriously, there’s nothing like it.”

Jeongin looked genuinely dumbfounded.

“Why do you look so surprised? People must tell you that all the time.”

“People compliment me, yeah. But I don’t think anyone’s complimented my smile.” Jeongin spoke, fingers picking at a thread on his shirt (or, Seungmin’s shirt).

“They should.”

Jeongin seemed a bit lost for words.

“Sorry if that was weird.” Seungmin backtracked, worried he had totally freaked Jeongin out.

“No, don’t worry.” Jeongin quickly cut him off. He shifted a little closer on the couch so their knees bumped together. “That was… really sweet of you to say.”

Seungmin smiled a little. “Good, didn’t wanna be creepy.”

“Definitely not creepy.” Jeongin chuckled. “It’s… nice. You’re so sincere.”

“Sincere?” Seungmin tilted his head.

“I mean, you could have just said I was hot.”

“You are hot, in all fairness.” Seungmin spoke and then immediately wished he could sink into this couch and have it just swallow him up. He had no idea where all of this confidence was coming from. Maybe it was something to do with how uncharacteristically horny Seungmin had been finding himself over the past few days and all of the pent up energy was manifesting into new found flirting abilities.

Wait, was this even flirting?

Was he flirting with Yang Jeongin?

“Hey.” Jeongin tapped Seungmin’s knee and Seungmin suddenly shook his head as if trying to empty it and sucked in a deep breath.

“Yeah?” Seungmin replied, looking just a little dazed.

“You were kinda gone for a second there.” Jeongin chuckled.

“Oh. Was I?”

Jeongin’s hand was still on Seungmin’s knee, fingers tracing circles on it now. It made Seungmin shiver. “What’s going on in that pretty head?”

Seungmin coughed suddenly and he could practically feel the confidence from before just slip away from him. It was nice while it lasted, he supposed.

“I asked you a question, hyung.”

Right, yeah, Seungmin was gone. He was fairly sure that Jeongin had noticed how affected he was and was doing this entirely on purpose.

“You.” Seungmin murmured.

“What?”

“That’s what’s on my mind.”

Jeongin’s neck visibly burned red. “Yeah?” he croaked.

“It’s kind of annoying.”

“What is?”

“Thinking about you. I just… can’t seem to stop.”

“It’s mutual.” Jeongin whispered, his fingers now sitting still on Seungmin’s knee.

“What?”

“I think about you a lot too.”

Seungmin swallowed. This was dangerous. This was uncharted territory, territory which he knew he couldn’t go back from and that he knew he shouldn’t even be thinking about.

His entire body suddenly felt heavier than usual, he couldn’t move a muscle even if he wanted to. Even just breathing normally felt difficult. He started to wonder when this had happened to him. When his heart had started skipping a beat when Jeongin stared at him like that.

“Tell me to stop.” Jeongin whispered, a slight rasp to his voice which sent a shiver up Seungmin’s spine.

“Stop what?”

“Wanting you.”

Seungmin didn’t know what to say. But he definitely didn’t want to tell him to stop. The way Jeongin was looking at him… for the first time in his life, he felt wanted. He felt desirable. He felt like he mattered, not only that, but he felt like he was the only person who did matter. To Jeongin, at least. All these years he had never seen the appeal of love and relationships, but in this moment it all just made sense. He had a taste of what it felt like to be special and wanted and he wasn’t sure he would ever be able to go back from this.

“You want me?” Seungmin whispered.

“For the longest time.” Jeongin murmured, there was an edge of something both desperate and dangerous to his words as he moved even closer.

He was going to pass out. This was the end for Seungmin.

He had to close his eyes for a moment to collect himself.

“Seungmin, look at me.”

Well that didn’t last long.

As much as his heart was begging him not to open his eyes at risk of going into literal cardiac arrest, he couldn’t say no. He couldn’t not listen to Jeongin. He opened his eyes and the air was knocked from his lungs. Had Jeongin been that close this whole time? He could practically feel every breath Jeongin took against his skin and the feeling made him dizzy.

Jeongin’s piercing, unyielding stare burned into Seungmin’s very soul, and for a moment Seungmin forgot how to breathe altogether. The room felt impossibly small, the air thick with something equally terrifying and irresistible.

Jeongin’s hand inched up Seungmin’s thigh, barely a shift, but Seungmin felt it like a spark racing through his entire body. His pulse hammered in his ears. He should pull away. He knew he should. But he didn’t move. He couldn’t.

“Seungmin…” Jeongin’s voice was so low, as if he was afraid that if he spoke too loud that we would ruin the moment, break this little bubble they were in.

Seungmin’s lips parted, but no words came out. All he could focus on was the warmth of Jeongin’s breath brushing against his lips, the way Jeongin’s eyes flickered down for the briefest seconds, barely noticeable, but enough to send Seungmin’s heart spiralling.

Jeongin leaned in just a fraction more, close enough that their noses almost brushed. “If you don’t want this,” he whispered, “tell me now.”

Seungmin’s chest rose and fell in uneven, shaky breaths. He knew this was the point of no return. One word could end it. One breath could change everything.

“Please…” Seungmin whispered, the word slipping out before he even realised what he was saying.

The moment that plea left his lips, Jeongin surged forward, a hand flying to the back of Seungmin’s neck as he crashed their lips together.

Even though he had asked for it, it took a moment for Seungmin’s mind to catch up with what was happening but as soon as his brain was on board, his hands were fisted in Jeongin’s t-shirt.

Seungmin was fairly certain this was what heaven felt like. Every movement of Jeongin’s soft lips against his own was pure bliss, he could feel his brain melting more and more with each motion. He groaned softly as he tilted his head to the side, needing to feel Jeongin everywhere. He wanted to be consumed entirely by him, Seungmin was putty in Jeongin’s hands.

Jeongin pulled apart from Seungmin’s lips just enough to whisper, “We shouldn’t be doing this…”

“I don’t care.” Seungmin murmured, his voice rougher than usual as something primal within him took over. He used the hands currently on Jeongin’s chest to push him back on the couch and crawl on top of him. Jeongin’s back hit the cushions, letting out a soft “ooft” in surprise. His chest rose and fell quickly, staring up at Seungmin with an expression Seungmin could only describe as awestruck.

“Oh my god.” Jeongin heaved before Seungmin dove back in and captured Jeongin’s lips again. Something had snapped deep within Seungmin, a part of himself he wasn’t quite sure existed until right now took over and he was overcome with the need to devour Jeongin.

Jeongin let out the most melodic moan Seungmin had ever heard in his life, Jeongin’s voice was like a siren call on the best of days but that beautiful, alluring sound Jeongin had just made could easily send Seungmin to an early grave. But at the same time, it was now Seungmin’s mission to pull as many of those sounds out of Jeongin as he could.

Seungmin’s lips moved with earnest focus, every single drag of his lips was calculated. His hands travelled up Jeongin’s sides while Jeongin’s arms looped around Seungmin’s neck, eagerly tugging him in closer. Seungmin was more than happy with this, he wanted Jeongin as close as the laws of physics would allow him. His tongue swiped across Jeongin’s bottom lip which made Jeongin whine. Seungmin took the opportunity to slip his tongue between Jeongin’s lips and the second his tongue brushed against Jeongin’s, a hot rush of electricity shot straight through his veins.

Jeongin's hands travelled up and into Seungmin's hair, fingers carding between the strands and tugging at it lightly. Seungmin moaned into Jeongin’s mouth before disconnecting their lips and kissing up the length of Jeongin's jaw before dropping to his neck, mouthing at the sensitive skin, allowing his teeth to graze his pulse point.

“Seungmin…” Jeongin's mouth fell open with a low groan, brows pinched together and eyes tight shut.

Seungmin was only fueled by Jeongin’s heavenly noises, paying close attention to exactly what spots made Jeongin's body twitch and made his heart race. He suckled at the skin, he was desperate to mark up Jeongin's neck but he remembered he couldn’t because of–

Shit.

Seungmin shot upright at lightning speed. Jeongin seemed to get a fright, body jerking a little in surprise before his eyes shot wide, looking up at Seungmin with equal parts concern and confusion in his eyes. One of his hands reached up to rest on Seungmin’s arm.

“Seung? What's wrong?”

“Hyunjin.”

“What?” Jeongin's expression was now only confusion. “Wait, why are you thinking about Hyunjin while we're making out?!”

“We can't–” Seungmin panicked, struggling for words. “Is this not like, cheating?”

Jeongin's whole expression changed into something of relief, a slight twinkle of amusement in his eyes for a reason Seungmin wasn't quite sure of, nothing about this situation was funny. This was infidelity for Christ's sake, and Hyunjin was someone they both cared for deeply.

“Seungmin…” Jeongin leaned back on his hand to push himself to a sitting position, looking straight into Seungmin’s eyes. “It’s not cheating, it’s okay.”

“What? No.” Seungmin’s brow furrowed in a way that made Jeongin’s heart clench with how sweet the sight was. “I don’t know the rules of your whole friends with benefits thing but surely this is still wrong. Like, morally.”

Jeongin didn’t mean to laugh, but a small chuckle escaped from his lips. “Morally?”

“Yes! Why are you laughing?!” Seungmin flailed his hands around in distress.

Jeongin just laughed again and reached for Seungmin’s hands. “Shh, baby.”

Seungmin froze completely, his cheeks flushing pink.

“So cute.” Jeongin cooed, letting go of one of Seungmin’s hands to bring his own hand to the older’s cheek, his thumb circling it gently.

“Me and Hyunjin haven’t been hooking up for weeks. I asked him to stop.”

Seungmin blinked. It was the only action he could really remember how to do. His mind whirred as he tried to process this new information. He thought back on the last few weeks and it just didn’t make sense. Jeongin was over a lot. Then again, how was Seungmin meant to know what went on behind closed doors and he definitely hadn’t heard anything since that one fateful night.

“You… what?” Seungmin finally spoke, puzzled.

“Yeah, I… I just wasn’t feeling it anymore.” Jeongin spoke, his voice thick in a way which lead Seungmin to believe that there was more to that statement.

“But you’ve still been coming over?”

“Can’t a guy have friends?” Jeongin raised an eyebrow. “Plus, he’s been helping me in my art history elective.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah.” Jeongin clicked his tongue. “Oh.”

They sat in silence for a long moment, the events of the last 15 minutes just catching up to Seungmin now. It felt strange. He was unsure and nervous and confused but at the same time, his whole body was vibrating with this new anticipation and excitement. This was real.

“So I’m not a homewrecker?”

Jeongin’s eyes crinkled with his smile as he laughed. “No, you’re not a homewrecker, baby.”

Seungmin grumbled to himself, rolling his eyes. “You’re getting far too comfortable calling me baby.”

“Yeah? You seem to like it.” Jeongin bit his bottom lip between his teeth.

You seemed to like it when I called you baby last night.”

It was Jeongin’s turn to be flustered. “What..?”

“You didn’t seem to mind it one bit, baby.” Seungmin grinned, loving having the upper ground.

“Whatever, baby.” Jeongin murmured in response, running his tongue along the inside of his teeth.

“Yeah, baby?” Seungmin’s face was practically splitting with glee, leaning in closer to Jeongin.

“Yeah,” Jeongin followed and also leaning in, matching Seungmin’s grin as his voice dropped to a whisper, “baby.

Jeongin closed the distance entirely, connecting their lips once again but this time there wasn’t the same desperation and hunger, it was reverent and tender. The kind of kiss which spoke a million words which neither of them knew how to express otherwise.

Seungmin sighed softly as Jeongin’s hand found it’s way to his chin, gently angling Seungmin’s head just right. His entire body tingled with something sweet and gentle, it felt so right and he never wanted it to end. Seungmin rested his hands on Jeongin’s waist, his touch soft and careful as if he was handling something fragile because if he was honest, he truly believed he was.

The way Jeongin kissed made him feel special. Like this moment, their lips moving against each other was all that mattered. There was a softness to it, a kind of quiet certainty, as if Jeongin had poured every unspoken feeling into the space between them. His hands trembled just slightly where they rested, no longer from fear but from the overwhelming relief of finally being able to be close like this. The world outside seemed to fall away, leaving only this perfect moment which Seungmin would never forget for all his days.

When Jeongin finally pulled their lips apart, he rested his forehead against Seungmin’s and just relished in the closeness. The only sound between the two was the harmony of their heavy, mingling breath and Seungmin found himself smiling without even realising.

Jeongin opened his eyes and broke out in a smile of his own the second he saw the sweet smile on Seungmin’s face.

“You’re so beautiful.” Jeongin murmured quietly, as if he was sharing a secret.

“Nobody has ever told me that before.” Seungmin admitted in a soft whisper.

“I’ll make up for that.” Jeongin purred before capturing Seungmin’s lips in another gentle kiss, it was short but Seungmin could feel the passion and emotion that Jeongin was trying to convey and it lingered on his lips like sweet sugar once he pulled away.

“Kim Seungmin,” Jeongin tilted Seungmin’s head up to meet his gave with the tip of his finger. “you are the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen. I don’t care if you don’t see it for yourself, but I’ve thought that since high school and that’s not gonna change.”

“That’s pretty crazy to hear considering you’ve fucked Hwang Hyunjin.” Seungmin quipped and Jeongin let out a short, surprised laugh.

“I’m trying to have a moment here.”

“Sorry, continue.”

Jeongin rolled his eyes in amusement.

“I’m serious though. I liked you for the longest time and I thought I had missed my chance but…” Jeongin let out a deep, slow breath. “I guess the universe had other plans.”

The biggest smirk appeared on Seungmin’s face, his chest vibrating with barely contained laughter. “The universe?”

“Don’t laugh at me! I thought it would be romantic!” Jeongin groaned, trying to push Seungmin away but he didn’t budge.

“It’s very romantic, baby.” Seungmin pulled Jeongin into him by his hips, pressing a chaste kiss to his jaw. “Just a little cheesy.”

Jeongin couldn’t contain his shy smile, burying his head in the crook of Seungmin’s neck.

Seungmin’s heart thumped so hard he was worried it might burst right out of his damn chest. He had lived a pretty good life thus far, but this topped everything.

“I need to warm you,” Seungmin spoke softly like he was afraid to frighten Jeongin if he spoke to suddenly, his hand rested on the back of Jeongin’s head and carefully playing with strands of his hair. “I’ve never really dated before.”

He stopped.

Maybe that was a bit presumptuous.

“Assuming that is something you would be interested in, of course…” he added hastily.

Jeongin giggled, Seungmin could feel the vibration against his shoulder. “It would be.”

“Then, this is all new to me. I might be bad at it.” Seungmin admitted, his tone a little sheepish. “It’s not really something you can study. So.”

“You’ll learn on the job.” Jeongin replied as he sat up again to smile at Seungmin.

“Does that mean…?” Seungmin’s heart was in his stomach.

“Let’s go on a date sometime.” Jeongin smiled sweetly.

Seungmin let out a breath of relief, a smile of his own spreading across his face.

He was going to go on a date. Not only that, he was going to go on a date with Yang Jeongin.

He had been so confused about his feelings for Jeongin for the longest time. Seeing him for the first time since the disaster that was his high school graduation brought him back to that very moment, not only in the sense of feeling those emotions all over again, but Seungmin had reverted back to being seventeen again. Before he had experienced the real world. Back when a simple practical joke could feel like the end of the world, which was fine to feel at that age, but not so much as a grown man in law school.

Maybe Seungmin had never truly “grown up” as people said. Sure, he had his own apartment, was getting his degree, he could cook and provide for himself and all of the typical grown up things, but truly beneath it all there was a part of him that stayed that immature, uptight teenager.

The more time he spent with Jeongin, he suddenly couldn’t remember why he detested him so much. Had he really been so angry over teasing and simple pranks? Sure, Jeongin had been in the wrong for springing a kiss on him at graduation but Seungmin had been able to see in the last 24 hours alone how different he was. He took responsibility for his actions and he genuinely cared for Seungmin. Maybe he always had, and Seungmin had been too caught up in petty grudges and worries about impressing his parents that he didn’t realise what had always been right in front of him.

It killed him to think that maybe if at graduation he hadn’t pushed Jeongin away. Maybe Seungmin would have been happier. He could have spent that last two years being loved and cared for instead and holing himself in his room and hiding from the world.

But what if’s will only ever be just that, and if Jeongin was right about the universe then this was how it was supposed to be. They both had to grow up on their own, find themselves before they could be brought back together.

Seungmin was more than happy to bet on the universe if it meant this could last.

The air between the two suddenly felt thicker. The tension between them so tight that it could snap any second from just the tiniest, most minuscule movement. Seungmin couldn’t wait for that.

“Kiss me.” Seungmin whispered, eyes boring into Jeongin’s very soul.

And so Jeongin kissed Seungmin again, it was slow and languid and the passion behind every move made Seungmin’s body feel weak. Jeongin pushed Seungmin back onto the couch cushions, his body sinking into the pillows as Jeongin hovered over him, elbows braced either side of his head.

Seungmin took the opportunity to wrap his arms around Jeongin, exploring his back with his hands, running them up and down to map out every dip and curve of his muscles.

It had only been two minutes of making out and Seungmin was already half hard, the tension from before returning tenfold. He was needy and he wasn't afraid to express that, not with Jeongin. He knew he would take care of him and not judge him.

When Jeongin’s mouth moved down to his neck and started kissing up and down it, Seungmin let out a mewl. He was already getting fidgety, body shifting around beneath Jeongin’s. Jeongin noticed this, planting one of his knees to brace himself so he could move his hand to steady Seungmin's hips, pushing them into the couch.

“Stay still for me, baby.” he murmured into the skin of Seungmin’s neck as his mouth latched on, kissing and suckling at his pulse point.

Seungmin bit down hard on his bottom lip to prevent any of the embarrassing noises he could feel bubbling up from escaping.

“You can make all the noise you want with me, baby. There's no need to be ashamed.” Jeongin pressed a surprisingly soft kiss to the underside of Seungmin's jaw and Seungmin whined.

“Just tell me what you want.” Jeongin spoke, teeth grazing against the sharp line of Seungmin's jaw.

“You…” was all that Seungmin could muster in his slightly dazed state.

“Yeah?” Jeongin worked his way up Seungmin's jaw until he reached his ear. “I want you too.” He took Seungmin’s earlobe between his teeth.

Seungmin let out a long breath, his hand moving to grab Jeongin's chin, bringing him back to kiss him again.

As they were lost in one another, Jeongin brought one of his knees between Seungmin’s legs, experimentally brushing it against the tent in Seungmin’s sweats.

Seungmin whined, mouth dropping open. He tentatively moved his hips, as if he was unsure if he was allowed or not. When Jeongin's hand that had been resting on his hips started to guide Seungmin’s hips in a slow rhythm, he took that as permission to take what he wanted. He looped his arms around Jeongin's neck, pulling him closer as he rolled his hips against Jeongin's knee, eyes tight shut and brows pinched together in focus.

“Is this what you want?” Jeongin parted their lips to whisper.

Mhm…” Seungmin moaned in response. What kind of question even was that? Of course this is what he wanted.

“No, I mean is this how you want to get off?” Jeongin held back a chuckle as he rephrased. He had attempted to be more discreet in asking the previous attempt but if he had learned one thing with Seungmin, the direct approach was always best.

“Oh,” Seungmin stilled his lips for a moment so he could think about it. “No.”

Jeongin moved his hand up to Seungmin’s jaw, cupping it gently. “Tell me exactly what you wanna do. I just want to make you feel good.”

Seungmin felt a shiver run through his whole body at how attentive Jeongin was, it was dizzying.

“I want you to fuck me.”

Seungmin had never found himself being so bold in all his life, he would usually be mortified to say anything like that but he felt safe right now. He was in a safe space to explore his desires and he had someone who was more than happy to help him.

“But not here.” Seungmin added hastily. He did not enjoy the idea of getting fucked on the very couch he and his friends sit on every single day. “Hygiene.”

Jeongin just smiled. “How are you so cute?”

“Stop it.” Seungmin grumbled in response, res creeping up his neck.

“Oh my god,” Jeongin laughed “You literally ask me to fuck you with no problem but get embarrassed when I call you cute.”

Seungmin opened his mouth to protest but didn't know what to say, he spluttered for something to say for a moment before Jeongin pressed a finger to his lips.

“I'm just teasing, it's okay.” Jeongin smiled before pushing himself off of Seungmin and the couch, pushing his arms under Seungmin’s knees and torso and scooping him up off the couch.

Seungmin should have been embarrassed by the fact he was currently being held in a bridal carry, but all he could really focus on was how easily Jeongin managed to just pick him up like a rag doll.

“So those muscles aren't just for show then?” Seungmin smirked, looping an arm around Jeongin's neck for support.

“Oh, you have no idea.” Jeongin grinned mischievously as he pushed open the door to Seungmin’s bedroom with his foot, carefully manoeuvring him through the doorway before laying him down gently on the mattress.

Seungmin couldn’t believe his luck as he watched Jeongin crawl over him on the bed, both of their chests were heaving with anticipation. Seungmin didn’t know what to do with himself, he was almost overwhelmed by it all. Was he supposed to kiss Jeongin again? Should he take his clothes off? Take Jeongin's clothes off?

His face clearly mirrored his struggle because Jeongin laughed a little and plopped himself down, now laying next to Seungmin on the bed.

“How about you just relax and let me make you feel good, yeah?” he spoke gently, a hand reaching over to gently caress Seungmin’s cheek. “Or you can take over, I just want you to be comfortable and I can practically hear your brain whirring.”

Seungmin sighed and nodded. He was getting himself far too worked up. He could trust Jeongin, and it wasn’t like this was his first time, just his first time in a while.

“We can stop whenever you want, alright?” Jeongin just smiled. There was no ulterior motive behind it, he just genuinely wanted to make sure Seungmin was comfortable and that gave Seungmin butterflies in his stomach. He had no idea of Seungmin’s background sexually, Seungmin could be a virgin for all he knows, or he could be with a new guy every week but Jeongin didn't care. He wanted to make this special for Seungmin, and who was he to pass up an opportunity like that?

“Yes… I-” Seungmin took a deep breath. “I want this. I want you.”

“Good, because I want you too. So badly.” Jeongin spoke in a reverent murmur before leaning in to kiss Seungmin.

Seungmin was going to get addicted to kissing Jeongin, he concluded. With every tender brush of his lips, Seungmin could feel a hot rush through his veins, his brain getting more addicted to the feeling every second.

Jeongin reached for the bottom of Seungmin’s t-shirt and tugged at it lightly, Seungmin immediately complied and lifted his body a bit to allow Jeongin to remove it before Seungmin did the same for Jeongin. The moment their bare chests pressed together was like fireworks exploding all over his bare skin. It was intoxicating and Seungmin thought he could never get enough of it.

He ran his hands up Jeongin’s sides, shivering as he felt his hands dip into his muscles, Jeongin clearly enjoyed the feeling as he gasped softly.

Seungmin carefully rolled onto his back, Jeongin moving with him to hover over him. Jeongin dipped down to pepper kisses over Seungmin’s collarbone and Seungmin closed his eyes, just letting himself feel the sensations and nothing else. Jeongin's mouth travelled down his chest and Seungmin’s body tensed in anticipation.

Jeongin licked a stripe over Seungmin’s nipple and his body jerked beneath him, letting out a mewl.

Jeongin smirked against the skin, pleased to have found what was clearly Seungmin’s weakness. He reached a hand up to Seungmin’s other nipple, using the pad of his thumb to circle over the sensitive flesh painfully slowly.

Seungmin whined, the feeling so good but also not nearly enough.

“Sensitive?” Jeongin rested his chin on Seungmin’s chest to look up at him, pressing down harder.

“Mhm…” Seungmin whimpered.

“Too sensitive?” Jeongin checked.

Seungmin shook his head and Jeongin immediately took his other nipple into his mouth, suckling at it. Seungmin’s back arched up immediately, letting out an embarrassingly loud moan.

“Mmm, don't hold back for me.” Jeongin murmured against the skin before taking the bud between his teeth, not enough to hurt but enough to make the sensitive boy cry out, toes clenching.

Jeongin groaned at the sight, taking pleasure just from seeing the other like this. The sight turned Seungmin on more than anything had before. He threaded his fingers through Jeongin's hair, alternating between tugging lightly and massaging the scalp deeply with the tips of his fingers. Jeongin moaned as he kissed down Seungmin’s chest, clearly struggling to focus from Seungmin’s ministrations.

“That feels so good baby,” he groaned. “You gonna pull my hair harder when I fuck you for real?”

“Fuck.” Seungmin whined, both from the thought and from how dangerously close Jeongin's mouth was getting to his waistband.

“Can I take these off?” Jeongin looked up at Seungmin, his teeth biting the waistband of his sweatpants. Seungmin nearly came from that sight alone, he nodded urgently.

“Words, baby.” Jeongin pinched his side.

“Yes…”

“There you go. Not so hard, is it?” Jeongin was practically grinning as he hooked his fingers into Seungmin’s waistband and pulled his pants off. He positioned himself between Seungmin’s legs, peppering light, teasing kisses up the inside of each of his thighs. Seungmin twitched and writhed beneath him, struggling to keep control over himself.

“God, you're so sensitive.” Jeongin groaned as he bit down gently on one spot of Seungmin's thigh, sucking at it until a bruise started to form. “Are you always this sensitive or are you just pent up?”

Seungmin squirmed from the question alone. “B-both…” he managed to whimper.

Jeongin’s eyes sparkled with delight. “I'm the luckiest guy in the world.” His voice was a reverent murmur.

Jeongin was attentive, he could see how much Seungmin needed this and while he loved to tease, it was obvious Seungmin was getting restless. He moved further up Seungmin’s thighs until he could properly see the bulge in Seungmin’s boxers, he locked eyes with Seungmin through his lashes as he placed his mouth over the clothed bulge, just mouthing at it carefully through the fabric.

“Ohmygod-” Seungmin gasped, not only at the sensation of his sensitive cock finally getting any sort of touch but at the sigh of Jeongin’s intense gaze boring into him. There was something primal behind those eyes and it thrilled him.

Jeongin thankfully didn't torture him for too long before he sat up straight, pulling down and discarding Seungmin’s boxers and freeing Seungmin’s leaking cock.

Jeongin was quite literally salivating at the sight, his eyes glazed over as he leaned down again, about to take Seungmin’s cock into his mouth when Seungmin stopped him.

“Wait- No-” Seungmin spoke quickly, his chest heaving.

Jeongin completely snapped out of it, his eyes shooting wide and instantly filled with concern. “Hey, what is it?”

“I'm gonna cum so fast if you do that–” Seungmin panted.

Jeongin let out a puff of air and laughed a little. “Oh, baby. I understand.” he reached up, brushing some of Seungmin’s hair from his eyes. There was no judgement there, he genuinely didn't care. Seungmin believed that Jeongin would do anything he asked of him in the blink of an eye. He almost felt a little bad, he felt like he was being worshipped while Jeongin was still in his pants and hadn’t been touched at all, not that Jeongin seemed to mind though. Seungmin had noticed the way his eyes rolled back when Seungmin moaned in pleasure, the way he groaned at the sight of Seungmin’s back arching. He got all he needed out of just seeing Seungmin feel good and it was so fucking hot.

“Have you got lube, baby?” Jeongin pushed himself off the mattress, leaving Seungmin suddenly feeling very exposed.

“Bottom drawer.” he answered, gesturing over to his dresser.

Jeongin opened the drawer and grabbed the small bottle of lube as well as a condom. Seungmin’s eyes didn't leave him for one second, when he started walking back to the bed, Seungmin reached out and looped two of his fingers into Jeongin’s waistband, tugging on them as he bit his lip. Jeongin matched his expression with a smirk of his own.

“You want them off?” he mused and Seungmin nodded far too eagerly. “Go ahead, I'm all yours.”

Seungmin wasted no time in pulling both his sweats and boxers down in one movement, staring unapologetically as Jeongin's now free, throbbing cock. He reached out the same hand and wrapped it around Jeongin's dick, stroking it slowly a few times. Jeongin’s eyes fell shut, mouth dropping open with a moan.

“Fuck, yes…” He hissed, maybe not having been touched had affected him more than Seungmin thought.

“You're so sexy.” Seungmin murmured as he moved his hand off of Jeongin's length and ran his nails over Jeongin’s abs.

“I need you so badly…” Jeongin growled before he climbed back onto the bed, kneeling between Seungmin’s legs. He poured some of the liquid onto his fingers, warming it up.

Seungmin watched as his body ached with need, “Jeongin…” he breathed, getting impatient and pushing his hips up off the sheets.

“Hey, hey, shh..” Jeongin laughed softly, placing a hand on Seungmin’s thigh. “I’m getting there. I told you, I’m gonna take such good care of you.”

Seungmin nodded and took a deep breath, cut off by the feeling of Jeongin’s index finger circling his rim, the muscle twitching at the intrusion. He took another breath, willing his body to relax and Jeongin slipped his finger into his hole. Seungmin’s breath hitched, he wasn’t even fully adjusted to the first finger yet and he already wanted, no, needed more.

Jeongin started to slowly pump his finger in and out of the tight ring, “You okay, baby?”

“Mhm… I can take more.”

Jeongin smiled, an almost proud like expression on his face as he carefully inserted another finger. Seungmin’s head fell back against the pillow with a groan, the stretch feeling too delicious as Jeongin started to scissor his fingers to open Seungmin up. Seungmin’s breaths were heavy and a little uneven.

“You gotta breathe for me, doll.” Jeongin soothed, slowing his ministrations as if punishing him.

Seungmin wanted to protest, but he also wanted Jeongin inside of him, so sacrifices had to be made. Plus, if Jeongin was calling him doll like that, he would do anything he asked without question.

“So good for me,” Jeongin leaned down to press a soft kiss to Seungmin’s chest in reward and Seungmin sighed blissfully, but that calm only lasted a short moment before Jeongin’s fingers found his prostate and Seungmin let out an embarrassingly loud cry, back arching. Once Jeongin had noted this reaction, he didn’t let up, curling his fingers and prodding at the sensitive spot until there was tears in Seungmin’s eyes.

The all too familiar tightness began to coil in his stomach and he let out a strained moan. “Stop stop– I’m too close-”

Jeongin understood and stopped hitting Seungmin’s prostate, just scissoring at his hole again. “You ready, baby?”

Seungmin nodded.

Jeongin stilled his fingers all together and just stared expectantly at Seungmin.

Right, words.

“Yes, I’m ready.”

“Good, pup.”

Seungmin swore his skin must have been as red as a stop sign, coughing in surprise at the nickname. “Pup?”

Jeongin slowly withdrew his fingers, wiping the excess lube on his thigh and grabbed the condom he had brought over, ripping it open with his teeth. “It suits you.”

“It’s… weird.” Seungmin made a scrunched up face.

“You don’t want me to call you that?” Jeongin tilted his head as he tossed the condom wrapper aside.

Seungmin was dead silent.

“Knew it.” Jeongin laughed, rolling the condom on.

“Just… not while you’re inside me. That’s really weird.”

Jeongin practically cackled. “Fine, fine. We’ll stick to baby.” he replied and leaned down to press a chaste kiss to Seungmin’s lips which made his stomach do somersaults.

Most of the hook-ups Seungmin had had, this was the point where he was willing for them just to get on with it and get to the good part. But right now, he found himself enjoying just the quiet intimate moments like this, being able to laugh and just feel comfortable with each other.

Jeongin positioned himself, placing one hand on Seungmin’s hip for stability while his other hand lined up his cock with Seungmin’s hole.

“Remember and talk to me if something feels wrong.” Jeongin reminded.

“You worry too much.”

“Cuz I care.”

Seungmin could feel it. In every ounce of his being, he could feel how much Jeongin cared. So much that it was almost overwhelming.

“Relax…” Jeongin murmured as he pushed himself into Seungmin’s tight, waiting hole. They both let out long groans of relief and pleasure, voices blending together in a perfect harmony.

“Jesus, you’re so tight–” Jeongin marvelled. Seungmin wanted to be embarrassed, but with how good he felt being filled up he didn’t have it in him.

Jeongin continued to slide in, taking it nice and slow until he was buried to the hilt. He exhaled deeply, his head falling back to expose his veiny neck, Adams apple bobbing as he swallowed, the sight was absolutely hypnotic to Seungmin.

“Can I be honest with you?” Jeongin breathed, looking back down at Seungmin again.

“Yeah, ‘course.”

“I’m not gonna last.” Jeongin admitted with a laugh.

Seungmin couldn’t help but laugh as well. “Yeah, me neither.”

Jeongin leaned down to bury his head in the crook of Seungmin’s neck, pressing a soft kiss at the join. Seungmin inhaled deeply, taking in Jeongin’s scent and relishing in it.

“Let’s make it count then. Every second.” Seungmin kissed the crown of Jeongin’s head.

“Even if it’s not very many?” Jeongin peaked up at Seungmin.

“Even then.” Seungmin smiled, guiding Jeongin’s head up with his hand to kiss his lips.

They melted into each other, kissing slowly as Jeongin started to slowly pull out before pushing back in again. It was like heaven. Seungmin moaned against Jeongin’s lips, Jeongin taking Seungmin’s open mouth as an invitation to slip his tongue into Seungmin’s mouth.

Seungmin’s hands tangled into Jeongin’s hair, pulling him impossibly closer.

“More…” Seungmin whined softly, mouth falling open as Jeongin started kissing his neck.

Jeongin complied immediately, shifting their position a bit by folding Seungmin’s legs up to his chest so he could hit a deeper angle. He set steady rhythm, his thrusts deep enough to hit Seungmin’s prostate every thrust. Seungmin clenched around him and Jeongin whined, biting down on Seungmin’s neck.

“Fuck!” Seungmin cried out, “Jeongin, Jeongin… Jeongin…” he chanted Jeongin’s name like a mantra, a prayer on his lips.

Jeongin’s pace got faster, he lifted his head from Seungmin’s neck to look at his face. “You’re so beautiful like this…” he panted, seeing Seungmin wrecked like this snapped something inside of him, he felt feral and Seungmin loved seeing him like this.

“Yes… Yes…” Seungmin was overwhelmed by pleasure as Jeongin started to pound into him relentlessly, his brows pinching together. “Right there… yes…”

“I’m so fucking close…” Jeongin grunted, kissing Seungmin sloppily and desperately.

“Me too…” Seungmin whined against Jeongin’s lips.

One of Jeongin’s hands reached for Seungmin’s neglected cock, thumb swiping over the leaking head, spreading his pre-cum down his shaft so Jeongin’s hand could glide down it. Seungmin felt the coil in his stomach get painfully tight, his whole body thrumming with heat.

“C’mon,” Jeongin panted, something wild and untamed behind his eyes as he jerked Seungmin off, all while still thrusting as best he could when his own body was tense and trembling. “Cum for me, baby.”

Seungmin’s orgasm hit him like a freight train and he came the hardest he ever had in his life. He cried out Jeongin’s name, nails digging deep into his scalp to try and ground himself as he spasmed beneath Jeongin’s, spurting ropes of hot cum into Jeongin’s hand and over his belly.

It only took a few more thrusts before Jeongin was toppling over the edge right along side him with a drawn out, guttural moan. He continued to drive into Seungmin at a more lazy but erratic pace, allowing for them both to ride out their highs.

Seungmin’s orgasm never seemed like it was going to end, it was overwhelming in the best way but also terrifying, he wasn’t sure how much more of this his body could take. His vision was white, ears ringing and he couldn’t lift his limbs if he tried.

Hey.”

Seungmin opened his eyes, Jeongin was looking down at him.

“There you are…” Jeongin sighed in relief, a hand reaching to gently caress his cheek. “Lost you there for a minute.”

Seungmin grumbled. His whole body felt heavy.

“Just let me get you cleaned up and then you can rest properly, alright?”

Seungmin nodded the best he could.

Jeongin smiled, leaning down to kiss his forehead before disappearing out of Seungmin’s field of vision. Seungmin battled with himself to keep his eyes open. There was already an ache between his legs and he knew it was only going to get worse. But he had to get cleaned up, he felt all sticky and disgusting and he definitely couldn’t get any good rest like this.

When Jeongin got back, he sat on the bed next to Seungmin and handed him a glass of water. He had very considerately put a straw in the glass so it was easier for the lifeless boy to drink from. He took some small sips as Jeongin brought a warm, damp washcloth to the boy's stomach and cleaned him off with the utmost care. He was talking Seungmin through it, but Seungmin wasn’t really registering a lot of it.

Seungmin wasn’t sure why he was this affected by one round of sex. Maybe that’s what happens when emotions come into play, he wouldn’t know of course.

Either way, he was exhausted.

Once Jeongin had discarded the washcloth he came back and carefully lifted Seungmin up to pull the soiled sheets out from under him. “You okay with just blankets, baby?”

Seungmin nodded and Jeongin put him down before pulling a few fuzzy blankets over his body, tucking him in all snug and climbing in next to him.

“You know it’s like, 2pm.” Jeongin chuckled.

“Don’t care. Bed time.” Seungmin grumbled and rolled to face away from Jeongin, who got the hint and wrapped his arms around Seungmin’s middle, spooning him much to Seungmin’s delight.

“Sounds good to me.” Jeongin murmured, pressing a kiss behind Seungmin’s ear.

“You’re warm.”

“Yeah?” Jeongin smiled. “I’ll keep you cozy anytime you want.”

“Wish we could stay like this forever.”

“Me too.”

“I have a final next week though.”

“Stop thinking about your final, just relax.” Jeongin gave him a squeeze.

“Okay.” Seungmin sighed. “Will you stay?”

“Of course I will.”

“Thank you.”

Jeongin’s heart melted at Seungmin’s hushed thanks.

Seungmin often found himself laying awake for hours in this very bed, tossing and turning and staring up at the ceiling as he willed his mind to just shut up and let him rest. He hated the night because of this, there came a point where he couldn’t busy himself anymore and he just had to face the silence and loneliness that haunted the darkness. But if his nights were more like this, then they would be his favourite part of the day.

Even though this was the afternoon, but his point still stands.

“Good night, baby.” Jeongin whispered, his fingers tracing soothing circles on the bare skin of Seungmin’s side.

“Good night, Jeonginnie.” Seungmin whispered back and fell into a deep sleep before he could even see how affected Jeongin was by the sweet nickname.

Seungmin walked out of the exam hall and he just wanted to go home and sleep for a week.

He had seen a few of his classmates on the way out who had tried to strike up conversation with him, he had just grumbled a few one word responses and made the excuse of having somewhere to be. Technically he did: a dark room for at least 12 hours.

It had been a week since his night with Jeongin.

They had slept right through until the next morning, which was a little clumsy and unsure. The adrenaline of the moment had worn off and they realised that this really was real life. After some coffee, food and a very awkward encounter with Hyunjin (and a half naked Changbin) in their kitchen, things just started to fall into place.

They had texted a few times and even called one night, but Seungmin had explained he didn’t want to start anything until after his finals so that he could give Jeongin his full, undivided attention. Give their… Whatever this is, time to grow and develop without Seungmin stressing over school constantly.

Jeongin had taken that statement directly. After all, that was how Seungmin liked things, right?

When Seungmin stepped outside of the school into the fresh air, there stood none other than Yang Jeongin with a bouquet of tulips and the biggest smile on his face.

“Congrats, Seungmin. You did it.” He grinned, eyes crinkling in the most adorable way.

The second Seungmin was in reaching distance of Jeongin he just hugged him. He wasn’t even sure why, he just felt like it was the only thing he could do. Jeongin let out a soft noise of surprise, moving the flowers out of the way and wrapped his arms around Seungmin in return.

When Seungmin pulled back to look at Jeongin, he couldn’t stop smiling. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m here to take you out on that date.” Jeongin grinned, handing the flowers to Seungmin.

Seungmin took the flowers and deeply inhaled their scent.

“I can’t believe you.” he chuckled softly.

“Believe it, baby.” Jeongin replied before wrapping an arm around Seungmin’s waist and pulling him in for a kiss.

Charmer.” Seungmin rolled his eyes, wrapping his arms around Jeongin’s neck and kissing him senseless.
