why are you looking at me like that?

Summary:

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Jackie questioned as her voice came out nervous, which made her ears burn with embarrassment. She practically threw the pencil at Shauna’s side of the desk before retreating her limbs back to her own side.

Jackie had never felt like this before, especially around Shauna.

Her stomach was in knots, the sensation so overwhelming the girl couldn’t quite say if it was pleasant or unpleasant. All she knew was that she was feeling something, and it was utterly bizarre.

Jackie Taylor rarely felt nervous, but at that moment, she swore it was the most on edge she had ever felt as her best friend watched her with those big doe brown eyes.

Shauna chuckled lightly, her brows furrowed together as that stupid smile widened as she kept gazing at Jackie weirdly. “Like what?” She questioned, sounding as equally as confused as Jackie was.

Work Text:

Jackie was never the brightest student; that was always Shauna, but she wasn’t the stupidest either. Mediocre academically would be the most fitting way to describe her. She put the effort in (but not too much in case she’d look like a brainiac) to make sure she passed her classes with decent enough grades to stay captain of the Yellowjackets and to get into Rutgers.

But that wasn’t the same case with mathematics.

Jackie hated- no, despised that class with a burning passion. No matter how much effort she put in, even if she did look like a total nerd, she’d still manage to do terribly.

It was frustrating, to say the least.

The subject and here were simply the opposite of compatible; Jackie accepted that by now. Her posture was slack as she leaned back against the chair, her focus on her empty answer sheet as she drew little hearts around it instead.

Words of wisdom and advice from the teacher flew into her ear only to fly right back through the other, it wouldn’t stick even if glue was splattered across her brain, wanting every attempt at help to stick to her.

Listening intently with all of her vision and attention focused utterly on the teacher or ignoring effortlessly ended up the same: Jackie was still as confused as at the beginning of the lesson.

It was safe to say Jackie had basically given up on the class by now, sue her, okay? A complicated subject that simply wouldn’t cooperate with her was the last thing she cared about.

The only good thing about the lesson was the fact that she shared it with Shauna.

Jackie let out a small sigh, her eyes flickering towards the clock to see it antagonisingly staring back at her as it ticked slower and slower.

Jesus, this lesson was going to be the death of her.

She focused back on her drawings instead in a pathetic attempt to get this class over and done with.

The only thing Jackie mastered in the classroom was being able to ignore everything being said, going through the lesson as if she were in her own world. But that power was excluded when Shauna was involved.

A small snap was heard next to Jackie, and in her nosy fashion, she glanced over. Shauna’s fist was clenched around her pencil with the tip pressed tightly against the sheet of paper, which was much more filled than Jackie’s, with the lead of the pencil rolling away slowly.

“Shit,” Shauna grumbled under her breath as she dropped her pencil to scurry through her pencil case, her calloused fingers swiftly flickering through the worn-out case before it finally froze with a sigh emerging from Shauna’s chest.

Jackie was about to offer her own pencil to Shauna since she wasn’t making any use of it, but was beaten by Shauna speaking first.

“Do you have a spare pencil I could borrow?” Shauna uttered as she glanced over at Jackie, a sheepish smile toyed on her lips, which naturally made Jackie smile back.

Whenever Jackie saw Shauna smile, she couldn’t help but mimic the movement; it always warmed her heart as if it was being tucked into a warm bed.

She eagerly nodded her head, “Of course!” she replied as she handed over the pencil to Shauna, a loose smile on her lips as she began speaking again. “I was actually just about to offer it-”

Jackie cut herself off once her eyes properly landed on Shauna, her mouth drying up, who was sitting leaning back against her chair. One arm rested behind her on the chair, bent at the elbow as her forearm dangled with her wrist hovering loosely downwards. Shauna must’ve been warm as the veins in her fist were popping out more than usual; it made Jackie’s gut tighten at the sight as she desperately peeled her eyes away.

Somehow, that made the situation worse as she caught sight of her face.

That sheepish morphed into a lazy smile, one that expressed her gratitude just enough to the point it made Jackie feel all weird inside.

“Like what?” She questioned, sounding as confused as Jackie was.

Jackie blinked.

The easy dry laugh only made the sensation worse as Jackie’s enormous eyes refused to look away from Shauna’s face; they greedily took in every curve that Jackie had practically memorised by now.

“I don’t know, you’re just looking at me weirdly!” She expressed in a quiet voice that was higher in pitch, which only confused Shauna further, who shook her head, amused and finally looked away from Jackie.

“I just asked for a pencil, Jax.” Shauna quipped as she picked up Jackie’s pencil and began working on her worksheet again. Meanwhile, Jackie stared at her dumbly for a few more seconds before she whipped her head away to stare at her own still very empty sheet of paper.

Jackie could only think one thing: what the fuck?

She tried to calm herself down, ignore whatever that weird encounter was, and it seemingly made the lesson fly by. Her heart managed to stop beating against her chest with the same violence that Shauna had on the pitch by the time she and Shauna were packing up to leave.

The girl swallowed dryly as she dared to glance at Shauna, shoving her pencil case and books into her bag. In that very moment, Shauna seemingly felt Jackie’s eyes on her and smiled at her as she peeped at her. It made her heart skip a beat as she forcibly looked away seconds later.

What was happening to her?

Better yet, why did Shauna look at her so weirdly?

Jackie could not get that weird stare that Shauna gave her at the start of the week out of her mind.

It was driving her insane.

What was that look?

Why did Jackie feel so warm and confused about it?

What the actual fuck was happening to her?

She pushed down the thought at any given moment, and her chance to properly ignore it appeared when Wednesday rolled around. It was the day Yellowjackets had practice after school. Jackie knew it would be the perfect opportunity to clear her mind and focus on soccer and nothing else.

Coach Martinez was evidently in the same mindset as he barked out orders at the girls, emphasising how they needed to focus more, no matter what they did.

The sun was blazing above them as all of the clouds were hidden away, the sky more vibrant than ever as the girls ran around the field in order to warm up before the real practice began.

After a gruelling round of speed dribbling relay, all the girls needed a moment, every one of them breathing heavily as sweat clung to their foreheads. Coach Martinez made them do that exact drill over and over until he was finally pleased, which took a tedious number of tries.

Jackie’s pulse was drumming under her skin as sweat clung to her like a desperate worm crawling towards a ripe apple, hungry and yearning to devour the apple all for itself. It was all over her; dribbling was definitely Jackie’s weakest skill.

But she always made sure to pour her own blood, sweat and tears into soccer; it was the second most important thing to her, with the first obviously being Shauna.

Her hands were wrapped around her blue water bottle as she gulped at the freezing water inside, letting it cool her insides as her eyes fluttered shut at the pure relief she felt at the cold liquid.

Shauna jogged up to her side. Jackie could recognise Shauna’s jog and the cleats slamming into the pitch with ease. She opened her eyes to see Shauna looking just as sweaty as Jackie, red in the cheeks as she rested both of her hands on her hips.

The brunette's hair was up in a very messy ponytail, some of her baby hairs clinging to her forehead, which made Jackie smile softly. She adored Shauna’s hair; it was always so healthy, and her baby hairs were just too cute.

“I swear, coach is going to end up killing us if we have to do that again.” Jackie muttered with a groan. Shauna snorted a laugh, which warmed Jackie’s heart like a late-night campfire. It made Jackie grin from ear to ear, even though she was dying from the blaring heat of the sun and the intense experiences.

It was the Shauna effect.

“I heard heat stroke was the latest trend.” Shauna remarked, which only made Jackie giggle, rolling her eyes playfully.

“Oh yeah, I might be the first one to-”

For the second time that week, Jackie violently cut herself off from speaking as she gawked at Shauna like a starving dog.

Shauna's hand was clinging to the top of her jersey as she lifted it to wipe off all of the sweat that had accumulated on her forehead with the collar, which exposed Shauna’s abdomen. It made Jackie’s mouth dry faster than if Jackie had kept running for miles.

Her hazel eyes were fixated on the exposed skin that shone under the sweat that clung to her porcelain skin, the sun lighting it up as if Shauna was modelling. Those eyes trailed all over until it landed right at Shauna’s navel, where a small trail of hair trickled down that Jackie’s eyes followed desperately as if she was following a path until Shauna’s navy shorts cut it off.

Jesus Christ.

Jackie could feel her face burn as her heart began thrashing around her chest like a ravenous dog. It made the girl freeze and stare at the sight.

What was Shauna doing to her? It was worse than the situation that had happened before, as Jackie could feel warmth spread across her body, consuming every inch of her with a feeling she couldn’t pinpoint.

The warmth was especially evident in her lower stomach.

It was too much for Jackie.

Her breathing was heavy as she finally remembered the water bottle in her hand and eagerly drank from it, throwing her head back as she shut her eyes tightly.

Okay, maybe her body was just behaving weirdly due to how hot it was outside. That would explain it.

With all her might, Jackie opened her eyes as she looked back at Shauna’s flushed face, who thankfully wasn’t wiping sweat off her forehead with the collar of her jersey anymore.

Shauna’s eyes ogled at Jackie’s bottle, making Jackie smile as she lowered the bottle from her lips, raising a knowing eyebrow.

“Share?” Shauna proposed with that same sheepish smile, which made Jackie weak at her knees as she obediently handed over the water bottle without a second thought. Their fingers brushed against each other during the exchange; Jackie’s skin burned at the touch.

She swallowed dryly as she tried to ignore that eccentric feeling again, hastily moving her hand back to her own body as she crossed her arms over her chest. “You’re ever so welcome, Shipman.” Jackie teased, trying to ignore the feeling growing all over her body.

“Shut up.” She muttered with the bottle in her mouth. Shauna huffed a laugh as she drank at the water bottle with ardour, lowering it down a second later as she smiled coyly at Jackie, a droplet of water from the water bottle dribbled free due to Shauna’s eagerness.

It trailed down from her lips along Shauna’s jaw and slowly down her neck until it was out of sight, and like a malnourished flower, Jackie followed it attentively before flickering her eyes back up at Shauna, who was looking at her like that, again!

Just as Shauna was about to take another gulp, Jackie interrupted her.

“What’s with that face?” Jackie questioned warily, her eyes narrowing as her arms remained tightly over her chest.

Shauna paused her movement as she stared at Jackie, confused. “Huh?” She uttered, lowering the bottle ever so slightly, which only made Jackie’s face burn further as it exposed even more of Shauna’s pretty face.

She glanced away for a second, freeing her arms from her chest as she waved them around in Shauna’s direction. “Like that!” Jackie expressed with wide eyes, which only made Shauna stare at her with even more confusion.

“Jax, what?” Shauna asked her swiftly.

Before Jackie could make an even bigger fool of herself, the harsh whistle of Coach Martinez sang out deafeningly across the field; it made all of the girls' heads snap towards the direction immediately, like dogs.

Jackie took that as her cue to leave, not answering Shauna before practically sprinting towards the coach, ignoring the heavy feeling of being watched consuming her from behind.

Not even soccer could distract Jackie from this apparent young adult life crisis; great!

Jackie was, as expected, freaking out.

She practically didn’t say a word to Shauna for the rest of that practice before leaving briskly and heading home, not even showering as she needed to get out of there immediately.

Once she arrived home, she practically dove towards the bathroom as she stripped herself of all her clothes and threw herself into the shower as she turned it on full power at the coldest setting. The bone-chilling water immediately soaked Jackie’s burning body, making her let out a small noise of relief, closing her eyes as she tried to cool and calm herself down.

God, what was happening to her?

Jackie felt outwardly whenever Shauna gave her that weird look directed at her, it made her feel rattled to her core.

Shauna has been Jackie’s best friend ever since kindergarten. Why was this weird feeling suddenly so prominent and overwhelming?

It was consuming Jackie’s thoughts like the plague.

The worst thing about it was the fact that Jackie couldn’t fathom what this feeling was; it was something she had never experienced before, and it was driving her to the point of insanity already.

Once she managed to cool herself off, Jackie headed to her bedroom to try to brainstorm what was happening, but she was rudely interrupted by a knock at the door.

Her mother peeked in without waiting for Jackie to answer as she nodded behind her. “There’s someone on the line for you.” Her mother stated, which filled Jackie with immediate nerves. She could not handle hearing Shauna and possibly explaining her seemingly unexplainable outburst from earlier. “It’s Jeff, he sounds worried.”

Oh shit, she completely forgot Jeff existed.

She had been so busy trying to understand the feeling she was overcome with whenever Shauna gave her that look that wholly made her forget about her boyfriend.

She nodded her head as she smiled at her mother with as much warmth as a dying fire, springing out of bed as she glided past her mother to go downstairs to pick up the phone.

“Jeff?” Jackie spoke into the phone, leaning against the wall as she twirled with the cable.

“Jackie, hey, sorry to call without warning.” Jeff answered back enthusiastically.

Jackie rubbed at her eye as she tried to find any effort within her to deal with Jeff. “It’s okay, what's up anyway?”

Jeff muttered something Jackie couldn’t make out before he spoke more clearly. “I just wanted to call to see how you were. I haven’t seen you in forever, babe.”

The girl rolled her eyes at that because, seriously, forever? Jackie hadn’t hung out with him since Sunday, and it was Wednesday, which is not forever.

Jesus, she was really not a good girlfriend, was she?

Jeff was really sweet, and Jackie did like him, but gosh, he could be so clingy at times.

“Sorry about that, I've just been really busy,” Jackie replied lamely, cringing internally at her poor excuse. “Soccer and school, y’know.” She added weakly.

He didn’t say anything for a movement as movement was muffled through the phone, Jackie kept twirling with the cable as she waited for any reply.

A sigh came from him. “I get that, I was just wondering if we could meet up tonight. Maybe try that thing I was talking about Sunday?”

Jackie grimaced at the thought.

“Jeff, I'm really tired after practice.” She answered him, which was basically the truth.

“C’mon, I miss you, babe.” Jeff uttered into the phone, and it was only starting to annoy Jackie more than anything now. She sighed as she glanced around her surroundings, bored. “Not tonight, I’m tired.”

“Bet if it was Shauna who asked, you’d agree.” Jeff grumbled into the phone.

Jackie’s grip immediately tightened as well as her brows, those perfect lips of hers curving into a small frown. “What’s that supposed to mean?” She snapped accusingly.

“That you always choose Shauna over me, your literal boyfriend.” He rebutted with an attitude that Jackie did not appreciate.

It always enraged a special corner in Jackie’s heart whenever someone brought up Shauna in any form of portrayal that wasn’t positive, especially when Jeff had the gall to say something stupid.

“She's been my literal best friend for years, Jeff.” She mimicked with a huff, which made Jeff scoff into the phone. Before Jeff could say anything, Jackie kept going. “If you can’t handle a few days alone, then maybe some real alone time will do you some good.”

“Are you breaking up with me?” Jeff questioned, his voice raising ever so slightly.

Jackie paused.

Is she?

“Yes.” She answered without thinking any further. “Bye, Jeff.”

“Wait-”

Jackie hung up the phone without a second thought.

Well, at least she can ponder and try to figure out this chaos that was happening inside of her whenever Shauna looked at her like that, without accidentally forgetting about her now ex-boyfriend.

She made her way back to her bedroom without a second thought, ignoring the ringing. Jackie Taylor had much bigger problems to worry about than a silly boy anyway, especially when said problem involved Shauna Shipman.

Days passed, and Jackie still couldn’t come to a realistic explanation of what was happening to her. By the eighth day, she gave up and returned to her original plan: ignore the feeling at all costs.

That led her to fuss around the upcoming party that was happening at some random jock’s house.

Jeff tried to win her back over a few times, but Jackie brushed him off instantly, to which Shauna seemed oddly chuffed.

As part of tradition, Jackie was getting ready for the party at Shauna's; it was something they’d been doing since Jackie first started getting invited to parties and would drag Shauna along with her.

Jackie was perched up on the edge of Shauna’s bed as she advised and helped the other girl create her perfect outfit for the night. Jackie loved helping Shauna pick an outfit out, wanting to show everyone that Jackie had the hottest best friend around, and everyone should be envious.

Shauna was standing across from her in a pair of black flared jeans that were a bit loose on her, paired with a thick light brown belt in order to keep it up and a white vest top.

Jackie bit at her bottom lip, deep in thought, her eyes trailing over Shauna’s figure carefully. It certainly had some advantages as it showed Shauna’s curves off in ways that would have all the boys ogling her, especially her ass.

“Won’t you be cold?” Jackie asked her as she locked eyes with the brown-eyed girl. Personally, Jackie thought the boob dress would be much better as Shauna looked ethereal in dresses.

Shauna scratched the back of her neck. She didn’t say anything for a moment as her eyes hunted around her room before landing on something behind Jackie. “Pass me my flannel, the brown and white one, please.” She replied to the girl.

She turned around, and her eyes immediately landed on the flannel Shauna was talking about. She swears Shauna owns more flannels than an actual lumberjack. Her fingers gripped the flannel as she stood up and stepped closer to the girl.

Extending it towards her with a questionable smile, Shauna took it, seemingly ignoring Jackie’s hesitation. “Don’t you think maybe the boob-”

Out of her nine-day streak of not making a fool of herself and Shauna not giving her that weird look, Jackie cut herself off for the third time as she gazed at Shauna throw on the flannel with agonisingly slow precision.

She didn’t break eye contact with the girl as she shamelessly gaped as Shauna’s muscular (when did they get so muscular?!) arms entered the sleeves, and with carefulness, she adjusted the collar before taking a step back. Giving Jackie the full view of her outfit, which made her stupid heart begin to thump in her chest excitedly.

Okay, now this was simply getting ridiculous.

How was watching Shauna put on a flannel while she was making that face making Jackie feel so weird?!

“Why do you keep looking at me like that, Shipman?” Jackie blabbered; she could feel her ears burn, which only infuriated her further.

Shauna scoffed, her brows scrunching up together. “Like what, Jackie? This is like the third time you’ve said this now in the past two weeks.” She questioned herself, crossing her arms over her chest, and that made Jackie notice the slightest strain against the fabric where Shauna’s biceps were hidden under the fabric.

The coil in Jackie’s lower stomach began to tighten at the sight.

“I have not.” She rebutted, her tone defensive as she desperately looked around the room to try to look at anything that wasn’t Shauna. “You have.” Shauna immediately replied. “I don’t get it.”

Jackie scoffed, “That makes both of us.” she muttered under her breath.

“What?”

“Whatever, just wear that, we’ll be late if we don’t leave now,” Jackie told her with determination to stir the conversation away from Jackie’s crisis. She whipped around, Shauna and headed to the bedroom door. Her fingers wrapped around the doorknob as she looked back at Shauna. She raised her eyebrows while smiling at the brunette. “Well, you coming or what, Shipman?”

Shauna hesitated, Jackie knew Shauna well enough to the point she was convinced she could spot Shauna blindfolded through touch, smell and voice, she clearly wanted to question Jackie more, but her persistence to leave made Shauna sigh.

“Yeah, sure.” She said in reply, her tone begrudging.

Jackie watched with relief as Shauna dropped the subject and nodded her head meekly, following Jackie at the door.

The two girls usually got Jeff to drive them to any parties, but with him out of the picture, Jackie managed to convince Laura Lee to give them a ride to the party, since she never drank, it was a win-win situation.

She and Shauna could get drunk and arrive and get home with a safe driver, and Laura Lee could feel better about herself by driving them around or something.

Not so shockingly, Laura Lee was already parked outside when the two girls left Shauna’s house, sitting behind the wheel, gazing off into the distance. Of course, Laura Lee would simply wait in patience and never rush anyone; she was probably the sweetest girl in the whole of Wiskayok.

Jackie headed to the passenger seat, opening the door without warning, as she smiled softly as Laura Lee turned to look at her. Shauna climbed into the backseat.

“Hey Laura Lee, you excited for the party?” Jackie asked her excitedly as she fumbled with her seatbelt, not daring to look back at Shauna in case she was doing that face. Jackie was not embarrassing herself in front of an audience.

Shauna spoke up before the blonde could reply, leaning forward. “Thanks for the ride, by the way.” She spoke, side eyeing Jackie in the process as her words came out a bit harsher than intended.

Jackie’s eyes narrowed as she glanced at Shauna confusedly as the girl leaned back in her chair, looking through the window with her jaw clenched.

Who pissed in her cereal to make her so moody all of a sudden? Jackie thought to herself, clearing her throat awkwardly as she flashed that picture-perfect Jackie Taylor smile at Laura Lee, who finally began driving.

“It’s no problem, I’m happy to help and lessen the chances of drunk driving by offering rides to my friends.” Laura Lee replied in that feather-like soft voice of hers; it oozed with sincerity that Jackie admired.

The rest of the drive was filled with aimless conversations between Jackie and Laura Lee, mostly about soccer since that was their biggest common interest, while Shauna remained mostly silent from the back and only chimed in once or twice.

The party was in full swing by the time the three of them arrived, herds of drunken people outside the house with littered party cups out on the lawn and the bass of the music blaring loud enough it could’ve been a concert.

Jackie immediately headed in with a wide grin, and everyone greeted her as she and Shauna made their way to the kitchen to make some drinks. Laura Lee wandered off to the back garden since it wasn’t as hectic there in comparison to inside.

“You gonna make your shitty concoction of a drink, Shipman?” Jackie teased playfully as she grabbed two empty cups and a bottle of vodka, her eyes focused on Shauna, who was still acting like she was in a mood.

She rolled her eyes as she shamelessly opened the fridge and grabbed their bottle of milk. “Your taste buds aren't as modern as mine with your basic cranberry and vodka.” Shauna retorted as she began making her own drink: Malibu and milk, it was something that made Jackie’s stomach churn at the sight.

“Vodka cran is not basic.” Jackie said in response, feigning offence, but the silly smile that played on her lips showed the truth, as she made her own drink, which was Jackie’s favourite drink.

The girl watched as Shauna poured a generous amount of Malibu into her cup, raising her eyebrows questioningly. Shauna didn’t say anything to Jackie’s look and instead gulped it. Jackie mimicked her as she took a sip of her vodka cran.

Jackie had a much higher tolerance compared to Shauna, who was the biggest lightweight in probably all of New Jersey. It didn’t take long until Shauna was drunk and Jackie was feeling buzzed.

Shockingly, for once, they didn’t stay attached at the hip at the party. Jackie, having to deal with numerous amounts of Jeff’s so-called friends, hit on her now that she was single, while trying to dance, avoid Jeff and talk to as many people as possible.

The girl couldn’t shake off that feeling that still lingered in her gut from Shauna’s house; it was swirling around her and only getting more prominent the more she thought about it.

That is what led to Jackie agreeing to do a tedious amount of shots back to back with Mari, the alcohol warming her stomach unpleasantly. It was almost like a replacement for the weird feeling. With that revelation, Jackie took many more shots that even impressed Mari.

Not surprising to anyone, it didn’t take long before Jackie was almost falling every two seconds with a wide frown on her lips as she desperately searched for Shauna. She hadn’t seen Shauna since they made their first drinks together, and Jackie kept being swept away from the girl.

Jackie stumbled through the tight pack makeshift dance floor in the living room, pushing through the sweaty bodies with her large, unfocused eyes scanning the area as if on a mission. She saw Tai, who was dancing next to Van and Lottie and immediately tumbled towards them.

“Have you seen Shipman?” Jackie slurred out loudly, gripping at Lottie’s forearm to balance herself.

Tai nodded her head, “She was talking to Melissa outside last time I saw her, outside by the pool,” she yelled over the loud music, sounding much more sober than Jackie.

Van grinned as she nodded her head in agreement, “They seemed quite chummy together.”

Jackie’s brows scrunched at that, her lips thinning as she let go of Lottie’s forearm.

Why was Shauna talking to Melissa out of everyone? Melissa was the least interesting person on the team. Jackie thought having a lengthy talk with Mitsy would be far more entertaining than with a human form of a wet wipe.

“Thanks!” Jackie yelled back before pushing her way through the crowd to get outside, her vision blurred as determination coursed through her veins.

Stumbling through the backdoor Jackie’s hazel eyes immediately landed on Shauna and Melissa in the distance, who did in fact look quite chummy.

She lingered by the door with her jaw clenched tightly, leaning against the wall as she couldn’t stand up straight.

“What’s wrong with you then?” The gruff voice of Natalie questioned, making Jackie’s head snap to the side to see the blonde sitting down with a cigarette dangling between her fingers. “Melissa stealing your girl?”

Jackie rolled her eyes, clumsily sitting down next to Natalie as her eyes remained locked with the two girls in the distance. “Fuck off.” She retorted.

Natalie scoffed, taking a long drag of her cigarette and blowing the smoke in Jackie’s direction, making her grimace. “What’s Shauna done now to annoy you? Speak to another girl that isn’t her co-dependent best friend?”

Bitch-

She turned to look at her with a blank expression as she cheekily snatched the cigarette from between Natalie’s fingers, which made the blonde huff out a laugh.

Jackie was too drunk to think, too drunk to care what she was saying, and it was Natalie Scatorccio for fuck sakes.

She and Natalie weren’t the closest of friends; maybe Jackie was too harsh on Natalie at times, but the blonde made sure to reciprocate that. But Natalie was loyal throughout, and that was something Jackie really admired; she wouldn’t go around gossiping about other people’s business.

She was a much better person than Jackie tried to be.

“She keeps looking at me weirdly,” Jackie answered after taking her own drag of the cig, exhaling the smoke into the dark sky as it twirled away in a dance.

Jackie passed it back to Natalie, who took another pull. “Weirdly? What do you mean?” The blonde questioned.

She let out a dramatic groan at that, rubbing her hands across her face because it was unexplainable! The girl couldn’t describe it other than like that.

“It’s stupid,” Jackie mutters, starting to feel embarrassed about the whole situation now. Here she was, at eighteen years old, freaking out over suddenly feeling something she had never felt before. The feeling was so strong and prominent that it made her feel crazy, and she couldn’t say what the feeling was.

“Probably, but try,” Natalie suggested with a softer tone of voice.

Jackie swallowed dryly, “For the last two weeks she keeps asking me to pass her things, a pencil, my bottle and her stupid flannel and everytime I look at her as I’m handing it over she’s already looking at me so closely.” she began to explain, looking away from Natalie to focus on Shauna’s figure in the distance instead.

“I can’t really explain it; she’s just looking at me so weirdly, and it’s making me feel so confused. Like, I have never felt like it before, and I can’t figure out what it is.” She blabbered out, bringing her knees up to her chest to rest her chin on top of them. A part of her was internally grateful she was so drunk, saying this and not caring at the moment.

Natalie didn’t reply instantly, which made Jackie start to feel on edge. She glanced over at her to see Natalie looking as if she wasn’t trying to laugh.

“What?” Jackie demanded, frowning.

This wasn’t a funny situation! Jackie was literally going through a crisis, and she was only eighteen.

The blonde bit her lower lip to stifle a laugh, glancing around before focusing her gaze on Jackie. “How does that make you feel?” Natalie asked her, at least trying to remain serious despite how obviously she wanted to laugh in Jackie’s face.

She shrugged her shoulders weakly, “Weird,” she answered instantly before letting out a small sigh. “I just feel everything everywhere,” Jackie confesses more weakly. The conversation was sobering her up quicker than a bucket of water.

“Jack, uh, I don’t wanna freak you out, but it sounds like you got a crush on Shipman.” Natalie states, sounding so certain it made Jackie freeze, her breath catching in her chest.

Jackie having a crush on Shauna?

Yeah right.

Jackie didn’t even like girls.

She shook her head, her frown deepening as she stared at the floor. “No, I don’t.” Jackie declared.

It was preposterous, the idea of Jackie being in love with Shauna.

Sure, Shauna was everywhere in Jackie’s eyes, and everything reminded her of the girl, and there is nobody she loves to spend time with as much as Shauna.

Sure, Jackie planned her entire life with the idea of Shauna by her side.

Sure, they used to practice making out- but that was in the straightest way possible: practice! Both of them wanted to make sure they’d be good kissers for when they got boyfriends, and they hadn’t done that in months anyway.

There was nothing gay about them.

Natalie was saying something, but Jackie wasn’t listening to her; her mind was reeling at the accusation. Abruptly, she stumbled up and brushed off any dust from her skirt. She offered Natalie a glance, and the look on Natalie’s face sobered her up more than the conversation itself.

She was looking at her as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

“I’m gonna go get another drink, nice seeing you Nat.” Jackie mumbled and dashed back into the house without sparing Natalie another glance, her throat tightening as she made her way back to the kitchen.

Jackie didn’t remember much of the party after that point; she drank and drank until she spewed her guts into the toilet with someone holding her hair. She didn’t even remember getting home or even talking to Shauna.

The only thing that she could think about was the look on Natalie’s face, replaying in her mind like a broken record.

A few days had passed since the party, and Jackie Taylor was definitely not thinking about it, not at all. If anyone dared ask her, she’d say she couldn’t remember a thing since she drank so much, which was partially true.

She even shut Shauna down when she tried to question Jackie on what happened to make her so drunk to the point she was puking her guts out all night (which Jackie doesn’t remember puking more than once) because Jackie wasn’t the biggest drinker. Jackie enjoyed the partying, the socialising, the dancing, while Shauna enjoyed the drinking for her.

At best, Jackie would get drunk but never black out drunk; she knew her limits well enough since she started going to parties at fourteen.

When school rolled around, everyone on the team teased her for getting so drunk, except Natalie, who kept giving Jackie these silent stares that made Jackie’s heart feel as if it was about to sink to her stomach.

There hadn’t been any incident of Shauna giving her that look, so Jackie did what she did best: swallow down the feelings and thoughts that consumed her very being and ignore them.

Out of sight, out of mind, right?

“Can I come over tonight? I’m in the mood for ‘Beaches’.” Jackie asked Shauna as they headed out to their final class, their shoulders touching every so often, and Jackie did not care at all about that.

Shauna nodded her head, “Sure, my mom’s working night tonight anyway,” she replied with a glance directed at Jackie. “Does it have to be ‘Beaches’ though? We always watch that.” She added.

Jackie peeked over at Shauna, who was holding onto one of her school books even though she had a bag slung around her shoulders. Jackie might be lazy, but she’d simply tuck it away instead of carrying it.

“C’mon, Shipman! It’s our movie.” Jackie chirped with a wide smile.

The brunette rolled her eyes, “You made it ‘our’ movie by only wanting to watch it.” Shauna quipped as they tread down the busy hallways, the two of them glancing at each other every few seconds.

Jackie always loved being somewhere busy with Shauna; she knows it is selfish to admit, but she loves it when Shauna’s attention is all over her and not anywhere else.

It always made Jackie feel like the luckiest person in the world.

“What movie would you want to watch then, Shipman?” Jackie asked her with raised eyebrows.

Shauna shrugged her shoulders, “Something actually good like: ‘Dead Poets Society’, ‘Labyrinth’, ‘Fear’ or ‘The Craft’.” she listed off easily.

“I love ‘Fear’, I’ll definitely swap that for ‘Beaches’.” Jackie replied easily, which she noticed caught Shauna in surprise, who halted in her steps for a second. Before Shauna could say something, someone bumped into her in haste due to her randomly stopping in a crowded hallway, which caused her to drop her book on the floor.

Without thinking, Jackie instantaneously crouched down to pick it up, dropping down onto one knee to make her balance more sturdy as the hallway was still chockablock. Her fingers wrapped around the spine as she picked it up, using her free hand to dust any dirty school residue off of it.

Jackie began to lift her head to look at Shauna, “Here Ship-” she cut herself off the moment her eyes locked with Shauna, who was already gazing down at her. Her hand froze mid-air as she stopped stretching it forward, staring up at Shauna in a trance as she remained on one knee.

Oh shit.

Those big brown cow eyes were peering into Jackie’s soul through her eyes as that small, stupid smile curved at her lips, which made Jackie’s mouth dry up. Shauna’s calloused hand was extended as she grabbed the book from Jackie’s frozen body, her fingers caressing over Jackie’s.

What was this!?

Jackie couldn’t fathom it.

Her heart was racing at a ridiculous speed, and with every second that passed, she felt that coil in her stomach tighten.

“Why are you looking at me like that!?” Jackie seethed as she shot up back to her feet, her cheeks flushed as she crossed her arms over her chest.

It was starting to frustrate Jackie more than anything now; she thought the whole phase was over until Shauna did it again.

“Not this again,” Shauna muttered as she mimicked Jackie’s stance, “looking at you like what, Jackie?”

“I don’t know, you’ve just been giving me this weird look for weeks, Shipman!” Jackie expressed herself like a crazy woman.

“I’ve been looking at you normally. Jackie, what are you talking about?” Shauna started to sound more confused than Jackie was about the whole ordeal.

“You know exactly what I mean, Shipman.” She huffed as she took off walking without another beat. It was getting laughable at this point.

She heard Shauna’s converse scurry up behind her, “I don’t! I really don’t!” the girl enunciated as she followed Jackie to Shauna’s car.

Jackie rolled her eyes. Shauna had to know what she was doing.

“Whatever, let’s just drop it and go to yours.” Jackie stated, her tone suggesting that she was done with this conversation. Her frustration about the entire situation was starting to build, and it was reaching its boiling point.

Shauna stared at Jackie for a moment before letting out a scoff as she shook her head, unlocking the car, opening and slamming the car door with much more force than necessary.

The car ride to Shauna’s house was pretty much silent between her and Shauna, except for Shauna’s radio playing in the background. Jackie had to fight every urge not to mute the damn thing when ‘Pretty Girl’ started playing; she clenched her jaw and stared outside the window.

Jackie was sitting there silently, seething at whatever the hell had been happening to her, and she was certainly not thinking about what Natalie said.

Because it was impossible, Jackie wasn’t in love with Shauna (she definitely didn’t think about the fact that she always argued with her mind that it was love when Natalie only said crush), she just loved Shauna with everything within her.

Yeah, Shauna made Jackie feel things she never felt before, and it was indescribable since she never felt like that way before, especially from a look.

She never felt anything like that with any of her other friends or even Jeff.

Shauna was the first to break the silence, “Mom made lasagne last night, there’s some left over so we can have that for dinner.”

“Oh yes, please, nothing beats Deb’s lasagne.” Jackie eagerly replied.

“She probably won’t notice if we steal some of her wine either,” Shauna added, which made Jackie grin.

“Blush?” Jackie questioned further as she turned her head to admire Shauna’s side profile.

Shauna nodded her head, “She won’t touch anything else.”

“Deb truly has the best taste,” Jackie commented back in reply.

They arrived at Shauna’s a few minutes later, chatting about something aimless as they headed towards Shauna’s bedroom.

Jackie kicked her sneakers off, dropped her school bag on the floor and immediately dropped down on Shauna’s bed, lying down with an exaggerated moan. “God, I missed your bed.”

Shauna shrugged her bag off and placed it next to Jackie’s, sitting down on the edge of the bed as she slowly took off her converse. “It’s borderline your bed at this point.” Shauna remarked with a laugh as she glanced over at Jackie.

“Mhm, it’s comfier than mine, so I’ll happily accept this as my forever bed,” Jackie replied with an easy laugh, pushing herself up to sit against the headboard.

The room was quite hot; Jersey weather was no joke, especially when summer crept around, and Shauna’s room was directly facing the run. Jackie was glad to be wearing her striped white short-sleeve shirt and her blue jean shorts. She lifted one of her legs and bent her knee.

Shauna shrugged off her flannel before nodding to her bedside table next to Jackie, “Pass me a hair tie," she asked Jackie as she rested her palms against the bed and leaned back a bit.

Jackie complied without hesitation, grabbing the hair tie off the table and leaning forward to give it to Shauna. “Thanks,” Shauna mumbled as she took it and began pulling her hair up into a messy ponytail.

Jackie glanced away for a second, letting out a huff. “Serious Shipman, your room-”

It happened.

Again.

Jackie stopped talking as her eyes naturally flickered back towards Shauna’s face like a gravitational force.

Shauna's eyes were already on Jackie’s face as she began throwing her hair up, her biceps flexing against her t-shirt as a few pieces of hair escaped from the low effort she was putting in.

Jackie always loved it when Shauna had her hair up; it exposed her face even more, especially her jaw and neck.

“Let me guess, I’m looking at you weird?” Shauna muttered sarcastically at Jackie, cutting herself off, and Jackie felt her cheeks burn as she stammered for an excuse, something in her lower stomach tightening.

“So you are doing it on purpose!” Jackie exclaimed as if she caught Shauna stealing a lollipop.

The girl scoffed, “No, I still have no idea what you’re talking about, Jax.”

Jackie’s frustration was starting to get the best of her; her lips curving into a frown as she abruptly stood up and created space between her and Shauna.

“You keep looking at me like that!” She stood near the closed door, arms folded against her chest, as she stared at Shauna, still sitting on the edge of the bed.

Shauna rolled her eyes at that.

“Like what?”

“Like that!”

“What does that mean!?”

“You’re doing it now!”

“I’m just looking at you, Jax.”

“But it’s making me feel weird!”

Jackie didn’t even register Shauna standing up and creeping towards her until Shauna paused. A beat passed.

“Weird?” Shauna questioned.

Jackie swallowed dryly, “Yeah,” she muttered pathetically, shrugging her shoulders weakly as if that would play it off.

Shauna cocked her head to the side, which only made that coil in Jackie’s stomach tighten. “Where?”

Her brows scrunched together, “The fuck you mean where?”

The dark-haired girl rolled her eyes again, “Where does it make you feel weird?”

Jackie was starting to feel overwhelmed as Shauna only made the feeling worse with how close she was, speaking so lowly.

“I can’t explain it.” She answered weakly.

“Try,” Shauna demanded.

Shauna was standing right in front of Jackie by now, Jackie having subconsciously stepped as far back until her back was pinned against the door. There was little space between them.

She couldn’t answer.

Shauna slowly raised her hand, and Jackie followed the movement like a moth to a flame. Slowly, her hand landed on Jackie’s lower stomach, which made the girl shiver at the touch.

“Here?” Shauna asked, her voice sounding more hoarse.

Jackie nodded her head dumbly, her mouth dry.

That answer seemingly explained everything to Shauna, as seconds later she crashed her lips against Jackie’s savagely, her hands immediately finding their place on Jackie’s waist.

Jackie melted into the kiss, her hands gripping at Shauna’s neck as she pulled her impossibly closer. The kiss wasn’t soft and delicate; it was rough, all teeth and tongue as Shauna fought for the dominance Jackie wasn’t even trying to have.

The moment Jackie felt Shauna’s tongue forcedly enter her mouth, she let out a groan, pulling Shauna closer as she opened her mouth even wider.

She could feel warmth spreading all over her; it was consuming her like a wildfire, and the most prominent feeling was between her legs.

One of Jackie’s hands slipped away from Shauna’s neck as she trailed it down her body, stopping at her waist.

When they pulled apart for air, Jackie could see Shauna’s dilated pupils as she panted, her eyes wide with want as she gazed at Jackie as if she were a meal and she was starving.

“Now you’re giving me that look.” Shauna remarked, and Jackie let out a huff at that, pulling Shauna in for another desperate kiss as she muttered “Shut up,” against her lips, to which she did as she devoured Jackie’s lips with her own.

Both of their hands began migrating over each other's bodies, feeling each other like horny teenage boys between moans and an eager nod of the head.

Jackie swears she had never felt so alive as she did in that moment.

Shauna began walking backwards towards her bed, dragging Jackie with her as they still kissed each other urgently, not wanting to pull apart for even a second.

Oxygen is overrated anyway, Jackie thought to herself.

The two scrambled onto the bed without a word, navigating the bed with their eyes closed, and they quickly ended up with Shauna sitting with her back resting against the headboard as Jackie sat on her lap, their mouths still attached.

The heat between Jackie’s legs was starting to become excruciatingly obvious. She whined against Shauna’s lips as she unconsciously ground down against Shauna’s thigh.

Shauna pulled away for a second, letting out a groan of her own, “Fuck, Jax,” she mumbled as she ogled at Jackie with such want that it made Jackie grind down with more desperation.

Please,” Jackie whimpered, “touch me.”

And Shauna did not need to be told twice.

She attached her mouth to Jackie’s neck without a second thought as her hand groped at Jackie’s chest. Jackie let out a low moan as she began moving back and forth on Shauna’s thigh.

She felt Shauna bite at her neck, and she groaned at the feeling as Shauna soothed it over with her tongue before sucking at the skin. Jackie threw her head back to expose her neck further, letting Shauna mark her all over.

Jackie used to find the concept of hickeys being cliche and not her thing; she only let Jeff do it once or twice when they first started dating, but God, the feeling of Shauna attacking her neck and exposed collarbone only made her feel wetter.

She could feel her underwear cling to her uncomfortably as she kept riding at Shauna’s thigh pathetically, chasing that feeling to soothe the ache between her thighs but it wasn’t enough.

Jackie did not doubt that Shauna could feel her heat between her legs even through layers of clothing.

“You’re so good to me, Shipman.” Jackie moaned, her hand climbing up from Shauna’s neck to her hair as she scratched at her scalp. Shauna only groaned at the praise against Jackie’s neck and began biting even harder, and Jackie whined at the sensation.

Her rhythm against Shauna’s thigh was becoming sloppy as she eagerly chased to soothe that ache, whining as tears of frustration began to build behind her eyes.

“Shauna,” Jackie uttered in a sultry voice. Shauna didn’t pull away from Jackie’s collarbone as she kept biting and sucking at the exposed skin. “Shauna,” Jackie repeated as she began to sound more frustrated.

Shauna finally pulled away to look up at Jackie, a grin on her lips that made Jackie grind even harder. “I need more.” Jackie begged her, “I need you.”

The dark-haired girl groaned lowly as she nodded her head excitedly, without warning Shauna threw Jackie off of her with a surprising amount of strength and laid her down on the bed as Shauna hovered over her.

“Off,” Shauna mumbled, her hands already moving to unbutton Jackie’s shirt, which Jackie had no problem with as she sat up to help peel it off. Shauna threw Jackie’s shirt somewhere behind her as Jackie unclipped her bra, letting it fall before neatly placing it on the bedside table next to her.

Shauna froze at the sight, looking as if she was about to drool and eat Jackie whole. Jackie giggled at the sigh as she leaned forward to toy with the collar of Shauna’s t-shirt. “You too.” She requested.

Shauna didn’t waste a second before taking off her t-shirt and throwing it behind her carelessly as well leaving her in her bra and jeans.

Jackie’s eyes trailed over her body shamelessly, and without permission, she let out an embarrassingly low moan at the sight of the small patch of hair on Shauna’s navel that travelled down to her jeans.

The two girls were blatantly ogling each other as their breathing grew deeper.

Seconds later, they were throwing each other at the other as they kissed hungrily, Jackie’s hand trailing over Shauna’s abdomen and waist, meanwhile, Shauna’s hand groping at Jackie’s chest again.

“God,” Shauna groaned against Jackie’s lips as Jackie moved to lie back down on the bed, pulling Shauna on top of her.

Shauna’s lips pulled away from Jackie’s as she impatiently trailed down Jackie’s marked body until she reached her breasts. She looked up at her through hooded eyes for a second before attaching her mouth to Jackie’s nipple.

Jackie moaned loudly, her hand immediately flying to Shauna’s hair as her back began to arch. “Fuck,”

She grinded up against Shauna’s body, searching for any friction that would soothe that constant throbbing between her thighs.

Jackie was never known for patience.

“Please,” Jackie begged, weakly pulling Shauna’s mouth away from her nipple, which released with a plop. “Please, Shauna,” She whined as her hand moved from Shauna’s hair to her jaw, forcing her to look up at her.

Jackie had no doubt she looked like a mess right now, lips puffy, hickeys all over her neck and collarbone and a harsh blush that adorned her cheeks.

“What do you want?” Shauna asked her.

Wasn’t it obvious?

You,” She answered instantly, her hips buckling upwards desperately for any friction against Shauna’s abdomen again. “Fuck- please, touch me.” Jackie begged again.

Jax-” Shauna whimpered as she moved herself upwards to kiss Jackie again. Jackie felt Shauna’s hand slowly move to the waist of her shorts as she unbuttoned them with ease.

Jackie lifted her hips without hesitation as Shauna peeled the shorts down, pulling away from the kiss.

Their eyes landed on Jackie’s panties, it was Jackie’s favourite pair, white with small pink flowers scattered across with a pink bow on top, and they were utterly ruined; soaked through.

Shauna’s hand remained steady against Jackie’s underwear, not moving, which only pissed Jackie off.

“Quit the ogling and touch me.” Jackie snapped, but it came out more as a pathetic whine, shifting upwards to try to get Shauna’s hand closer.

The dark-haired girl chuckled cruelly as she pulled her hand away, making Jackie whine at the loss.

“Tell me I’m better,” Shauna asked her.

“What?” Jackie responded, too horny to deal with this.

“Tell me I’m better than him, that only I can make you this wet.” She uttered, cocking her head to the side as she watched Jackie.

Jackie frowned in confusion, “Better than who?” she asked.

“Jeff,” Shauna replied.

Oh, well, that was obvious.

Jeff couldn’t even make Jackie wet, even if he read a book called ‘How to make your girlfriend orgasm 101’.

“You’re better than him,” Jackie uttered back, swallowing dryly. “He could never make me wet, let alone soaked. Only you can make me feel like this, Shauna.”

That was enough for Shauna to shove her hand under Jackie’s panties and finally touch her. Both of them moaned at the touch, Jackie’s eyes shutting as she arched her back.

“Fuck, you’re so wet for me, Jax.” Shauna said as her finger began slowly moving in circles over Jackie’s clit, making Jackie moan loudly.

Thank God Deb wasn’t home to hear this.

“Only you.” Jackie blabbered. She pulled Shauna closer to her, scratching at her back lightly. “I need more.”

Shauna complied without hesitation, and Jackie felt her lower before entering her, making Jackie moan pathetically as she gripped at Shauna.

“So good,” She mumbled as Shauna began to slowly move in and out of her, trying to help her get used to the feeling. But it wasn’t enough for Jackie.

She was starving for Shauna.

“More.” She begged her, “Please, two fingers.”

Shauna added another at Jackie’s begging, making her arch her back as she nodded her head enthusiastically.

“You’re such a mess for me,” Shauna grunted against Jackie’s ear as she began quickening the pace of her fingers, curling them upwards against the roof of Jackie’s pussy, making her clench around the fingers.

“You feel so good, Jax,” She slurred, “taking me so well.”

Jackie moaned loudly at the praise, her nails scratching down Shauna’s back, making the other girl hiss in pain.

Shauna’s pace quickly becomes relentless, her fingers pounding into Jackie as they hit the spot that Jackie couldn’t stop moaning at, curling at just the right angle as her walls clenched around them greedily.

“You look so pretty,” Shauna tells Jackie, “so wet and desperate for me.”

The knots in Jackie’s stomach were tightening with every second of Shauna fucking her, “Shauna-” she moaned, it was starting to become too much for her.

“So close,” She whimpered, which only egged Shauna on further, fucking her even harder with her fingers. The room was being filled with the obscene sounds of Jackie’s wet pussy and her loud moans of Shauna’s name.

Jackie's moans were only getting louder, “Don’t stop,” she begged her pathetically. “Please don’t stop.”

“Fuck- not gonna, you feel too good, Jax.” Shauna moaned, deepening her fingers inside of Jackie. She could feel herself get closer and closer to finishing, the knots in her stomach twisting.

“Don’t ever wanna stop, you’re perfect.” Shauna praised her. Jackie’s final straw was hearing Shauna mutter, “Come for me.”

The knots in Jackie’s stomach snapped, her moan morphing into a sob as she threw her head back against the pillows. She came all over Shauna’s fingers, who helped her ride out the orgasm until Jackie was left a panting mess.

“Holy shit,” Jackie mumbled, moving one of her arms to hide her eyes as her chest rose up and down violently as she pulled out of Jackie.

“Yeah,” Shauna replied weakly, her voice was hoarse as her heavy breathing filled the room as well.

Jackie lowered her arm as she pushed herself to sit upright, her heart was still pounding in her chest. Her eyes landed on Shauna’s fingers, coated in Jackie’s juices and without thinking, she leaned forward and grabbed Shauna’s wrist and brought the fingers up to her mouth.

Shauna groaned as Jackie began sucking at Shauna’s fingers, lapping at her own juices filthily as her eyes remained locked with Shauna’s. Her cheeks hollowed out as she bobbed against the fingers.

“Jax-” Shauna moaned as she watched Jackie with still hungry eyes until Jackie finally pulled them out with a pop.

Both of them were staring at each other in disbelief at what just happened, their chests rising up and down until their breathing finally calmed down.

After a beat, Shauna spoke, “Why are you looking at me like that?” her voice dripping with mock, paired with a chuckle. Jackie’s cheeks burned as she let out a huff.

“Shut up, I was confused, okay.” She replied to her, which only made Shauna laugh more.

“So, you’re saying I kept giving you ‘weird’ looks when in reality it was you just getting horny looking at me?” Shauna pressed, a shit-eating grin on her lips.

Okay, now Jackie just felt like an idiot.

“I am not answering that and boosting your ego higher than it needs to be.” She remarked, crossing her arms over her bare chest.

“That’s all I needed to hear.” Shauna quipped, making Jackie let out a dramatic groan. “Can’t believe you got horny over me asking for a pencil.”

“That is not- you’re exaggerating greatly now. And I wasn’t horny, I was just flustered and confused, I know that now.”

“I saw the way you looked at me during practice.”

Wowza, Shipman. Big talk for someone who was ogling my tits earlier.”

Shauna smiled sheepishly, which made Jackie let out a chuckle, leaning forward to capture the other girl in another kiss. This kiss was nothing like the one they had earlier; it was soft and slow, savouring every second as they poured their hearts into it.

“I’m not getting back with Jeff,” Jackie suddenly states, smiling as her hand found Shauna’s and intertwined them. “Especially since I found someone who can actually make me orgasm.”

Shauna raised her eyebrows, “Wow, is that all I am to you?”

Jackie shook her head, “I love you, Shipman.”

Shauna seemed to actually freeze at that, her breath audibly hitching before she slammed Jackie into another quick, desperate kiss. “I love you too, so much.”

Natalie was right then, Jackie thinks, there really isn’t a straight explanation to this.
