Work Text:

With the sunlight peeking from the blinds of the room, Wonwoo was waking up, slightly annoyed and still sleepy. It was saturday and he wanted to wake up late. But something was missing.

He stretched his legs and arms, trying to open his eyes. Something was wrong. First of all, where was his precious sweet boyfriend?

Reaching for the other side of the bed he discovered that Chan was nowhere to be found. He wasn't there embracing him in his strong arms, enveloping Wonwoo in his warmth, and that made the older let out a little cute whine. The weather was a little cold and Wonwoo sat on the bed sulky, grabbing his glasses while getting up to search for his man in the house.

Outside the big glass doors that showed the backyard, there he was.

In his sleep clothes, that consisted in a plain white shirt and grey sweats, he was there, sitting in the table they had outside for pool parties lunch with their friends. They had a large backyard, with a beautiful pool, a separate space for barbecue in the corner, a little garden and an enormous grass area, it was beautiful and Chan loved it. That's why Wonwoo bought that house.

Of course the house was beautiful and had a lot of good things about it, but Chan really loved spending time outside and wanted a great backyard, so he was more then content in buying the large house outside the chaotic big city. Wonwoo never thought it wasn't worth it. He loved seeing Chan happy, he cared about him more than anyone in the world, he could do anything to see his lovely boyfriend happy, he could do anything and endure anything that he needed to, he would give his own life if it was necessary.

Chan always said that he was too extreme sometimes, always being a hopeless romantic and imagining hypothetic scenarios and confessing his love, he loved about that about Wonwoo, just never knew how to react.

Wonwoo was a writer after all, spending all his life imagining and creating things, he was always deep in thought or curious like a cat, observing the world to be the most realistic and emotionally expressive he could. He was good with words and that always made Chan flustered, he enjoyed seeing him giggle and blush while telling him how he was beautiful and loved, he was creative and passionate about their love and Chan appreciated that.

He was just sitting and stretching his arms a bit, sunbathing, silent, enjoying the warmth of the sun hitting his skin despite the cool weather. But in Wonwoo's eyes, that was the most beautiful thing he ever saw in his life.

It was simple and ordinary. However, for Wonwoo that was picturesque. The sun seemed to spotlight Chan, like it was rising higher for him and for him only. His hair was a little long but he just got a perfect hair cut that framed his face perfectly, he looked the prettiest with long hair. It was his natural deep dark brown hair color, perfect shiny healthy hair, he looked so gorgeous.

From Wonwoo's vision, still inside the house, he could see him sitting facing the east, so he could see his side profile. Now he was supporting his weight leaning back a little his hand resting on the table and his face up to the sky with his eyes closed. Wonwoo felt like he was having a little peak of what heaven looked like. He was still waking up and was already experiencing a breathtaking view, saturday 8am.

He was just so beautiful, even from afar he could see his details perfectly. Certainly he would never fail to amaze his hyung, his features were so manly yet so delicate, he was like a walking work of art. His gentle eyes, his cute nose, his irresistible plump lips, his sharp jawline, even his eyebrows were perfect.

The gentle but chilly breeze was ruffling his hair in an adorable way. It was in situations like this that made Wonwoo firmly believe that magic was in fact real.

He seemed so peaceful and happy, the quiet morning and the sun recharging him like he was a little flower doing its photosynthesis. He wanted to live that moment watching the love of his life forever, but he couldn't, so instead he grabbed the nearest pen and notebook he could find and started writing about that moment, ending with something so freeform he couldn't even define what that was. A narrative, a poem, a short story, he wasn't sure but he did his best to convey the meaning of that moment to him, later maybe write Chan a letter.

That was other thing he liked to do. He would always write a letter for the younger and hide in random places in the house that he knew Chan would find sooner or later, he was a deep and emotional person and liked to externalize his feelings and thoughts in all the ways he could.

He wrote enough things and put his notebook and pen aside. Finally walking in the direction of the opened door, slowly, not wanting to startle his sweet boyfriend in his natural habitat.

When he got close enough that his steps on the grass started to make sound Chan opened his eyes, turning his head to the side his boyfriend was coming already with a big smile.

"Hyung!"

He called excitedly, opening his arms subtly asking for a hug. Wonwoo was more than happy to give him what he wanted. Hugging the younger tight, feeling how warm he was because of the amount of time sunbathing. He wrapped his legs around his hyung's hips, resting his head on his chest, his arms around his waist, humming contently with the proximity.

"How long you've been watching me?" He whispered, still in the same position, not wanting to let him to move away. "I didn't think you were going to wake up so early, I was going to come back to bed soon."

"I woke up because I felt your absence. Why did you leave me behind like a toxic male with his one-night stand?"

Chan pushed him and looked up with wide eyes, feeling almost outraged by his words.

"Wonwoo!"

"What, love?"

"Take that back!"

"But you left me!"

Chan smacked him on the chest, pouting and crossing his arms.

"Okay, I'm sorry, baby."

"I forgive you."

Chan was sweetest soul Wonwoo ever got to meet.

Back then when they met, the two of them still in their twenties, Wonwoo was desperate to find inspiration. He got a job as a screenwriter, he worked so hard and he finally got the opportunity to archive his dream. However, his first year wasn't like he was expecting.

He spent his entire life writing so many different things, he had the experience and was a elegant and intellectual writer, but when they gave him a simple prompt he just froze. The truth was he never got to experience love in real life, he was too busy with his notebooks, pencils and words, daydreaming about things and never got to witness what love felt outside his head and fiction.

But then he found Chan. He went to visit his father one day and for his surprise he had a guest already. Not an actual guest as it was just a person he hired to tune his beautiful white piano that he was so proud of owning.

At first he had just saw the back of the man. He looked young, assuming because of the clothes he was wearing and the glorious tone of blonde he was, seemed so carefully bleached and just slightly damaged.

His broad shoulders and thin waist made him even more attractive, his gaze was so obvious that his dad noticed and stopped talking to him, eyeing them with a playful smile, he knew his son, so he just left the house saying that he was going to get groceries to make dinner.

He was alone with the gorgeous piano boy. So he just approached him carefully, his heart almost giving up and stopping when he saw his face. He wasn't just attractive from the back, all of him was perfect to his entirety.

Wonwoo couldn't help but stare, his heart racing but he managed to start asking questions about his job. He discovered that he was son of a talented musician and his family owned a music shop for generations, shop that he was now taking care of. He was a musician too, but liked fixing instruments. He talked about pianos, guitars, flutes and so many more instruments so passionately Wonwoo fell for him instantly. They invited him to have dinner with them, getting to know each other even more, he asked for his number saying that he would contact him to get to know more about music, Chan eager to talk about his passion and the older eager to get to know him better.

The texts turned into dates, dates turned into moving together and buying a house two years later. They were successful and happy, they complimented each other and loved each other so much, their relationship, even being Wonwoo's first, was so healthy and they knew how to deal with their expectations and flaws.

Chan was famous for taking things that were already beautiful and making them function at their full potential, helping them shine and sound like brand new instruments and made music just like angels singing.

He was a good person and his partner admired him more than anyone in the world. He was the most talented musician Wonwoo ever met but he was humble and curious, always wanting to learn more.

Wonwoo was a famous writer, his name written in the credits of many famous films and TV shows, winner of prizes, but for him, the definition of success was his relationship.

"Sometimes I can't believe I have the privilege of waking up next you every day. I'm your biggest fan."

"You're the famous one and yet you treat me like I'm an idol or something."

"You are! You're my favorite person in the entire world. I must treat you like you deserve, and you deserve the best. And with best I mean the most lovesick boyfriend you could have in the entire world. In all universes, real life or fiction. I would and I will find you and I will love you."

"I don't think I will ever get to think of an answer to all the beautiful things you say to me."

"You don't need to. To see you blushing is enough for make me happy."

"But!"

"Just play bossa nova for me with that guitar I like and we're good."

The younger just gave him a kiss on the nose and nodded, loving when his boyfriend asked him to play random genres, it was one of his favorite things in the world.

"I bought strawberries for you yesterday. Wanna try to make pancakes with me? A proper and sweet breakfast. I believe in our potential of not burning them this time."

He just giggled and nodded, helping the younger get off the table and clinging to his arm, walking to inside the house with him.

"I don't know about that but I will enjoy just being with you even if we end eating slightly burned pancakes."

"Hyung, can you shut up a little?"

"No, I can't. You love me even when I'm annoying."

"Fair enough."

"I love you too."

Chan just smiled and pulled him closer to give him a kiss, Wonwoo leaned down and almost couldn't kiss him as he couldn't take the big smile off his face, but ended kissing his lips and face all over because he couldn't resist the urge, his boyfriend was just too cute.

"I love you, hyung. I'll marry you one day."

"Marry me today."

"Soon the time will come and I will ask you to marry me. Don't worry, I just need to figure out how to surprise you."

"It's difficult because I have the ability of reading your mind."

"It will come when you least expected."

"Please don't propose when I'm on the toilet that would be embarrassing."

"Just shut up!"

Chan pushed him gently and started laughing so hard his eyes were closed, the sweet sound pleasing Wonwoo's ears, he just loved him so much, he was sure he could do anything to make him this happy everyday.

Even if they didn't succeed making their breakfast they were happy being by each other's side, making simple sandwiches and eating together looking at the mess they made with their cooking attempts. They were made for each other and they knew it. That was enough for them, burnt pancakes didn't matter at all.
