Video Transcript:
Music can be heard playing. There are two people on screen, Piper, and a boy whose face isn’t shown, back is to the camera. Piper is holding a plate of food. It has a little bit less food on it than a serving would normally be.
Song: You should take it as a compliment / If I were you, I would be more confident / You’re lucky that you’re pretty / Why are you obsessed with your appearance?
The boy gestures a bit. Though we can’t see his face, it is implied that he’s the one talking.
Song: I don’t wanna hear it, you’re fine
The boy turns and leaves. Piper stares at the plate of food in her hands. She mouths along to the song now.
Song: It’s been my best-kept secret for a while now / No one ever sees it, but it’s all around / It’s in the dinner conversation no one talks about / Don’t know how much longer I can keep this down
The camera cuts. Now, we’re in a different room, a bathroom, and the camera’s pointed at the mirror. It’s angled, so that the camera can’t be seen in the mirror. The mirror shows Piper’s reflection. We can also see Piper standing there, turned away from the camera so she can see the mirror. Piper is still lip-syncing.
Song: Beauty is a knife I’ve been holding by the blade
Piper lifts her left hand, showing that she is holding a dagger by the blade.
Song: Swallowing my pride so I won’t eat anything
Piper drops the knife, pressing both hands to her stomach.
Song: It’s all a lie, honestly, it’s eating me alive / They’re all like
Piper lifts her hands, and a bit of blood can be seen on her shirt.
Song: “Did you change your hair?”
Piper touches the ends of her hair. She’s not lip-syncing anymore.
Song: “Did you lose a little weight?” / “You should keep it up ‘cause it really looks great”
Piper draws quotes in the air, then covers her ears, ducking her head so we can’t see her face in the mirror anymore.
Song: I hate that I always look my best / When I’m dying on the inside
Piper looks up, a couple of tears visible on her face if we look close enough. She’s lip-syncing again.
Song: When I’m dying on the inside
There’s an instrumental break. Piper spends it staring at the mirror.
Song: I wish I could break the mirror
Piper glares at the mirror.
Song: That makes me feel like I should fucking disappear
Piper hits the mirror with her left hand when the song says ‘fucking disappear’. Cracks spread through the mirror.
Song: And drown my demons in a bathtub filled with tears / No matter what I try, they always seem to come back to life
The camera cuts to Piper sitting in the bathtub. She is still fully clothed, but the bathtub is overflowing and still running. Her head is hidden by her knees.
Song: What if I didn’t do this to my body? / What if I quit and then you don’t want me? The dinner conversation no one talks about
The camera cuts to the dining room. There’s a long table filled with people, laughing and chatting while they eat. Many of the people can be recognized from TWT’s previous videos. Piper is in the center, with space around her. Piper’s plate is empty. The camera zooms in to focus on her. Piper is lip-syncing again.
Song: Don’t know how much longer I can keep this down / Beauty is a knife I’ve been holding by the blade
Piper picks up the dinner knife by the blade with her right hand.
Song: Swallowing my pride so I won’t eat anything / It’s all a lie, honestly, it’s eating me alive / They’re all like
Piper stares at her empty plate.
Song: “Did you change your hair?”
Jay slides into the previously empty seat next to her, lip-syncing to the lyrics. Piper looks at him. He touches the ends of her hair.
Song: “Did you lose a little weight?”
Piper pulls away from Jay, only to hit Levi, who had slid into the seat on her other side. She looks at him, startled. Levi lip-syncs to the song.
Song: “You should keep it up ‘cause it really looks great”
Jay and Levi both lip-sync to that line.
Song: I hate that I always look my best / When I’m dying on the inside / When I’m dying on the inside / When I’m dying on the inside
Piper gets up and walks away. Her back is to the camera. The boy from earlier, whose face we can now see, is Percy, and he stops her, grabbing her arm.

Percy lip-syncs to those lines.

Piper pulls away from Percy. She turns to Percy, and as a result the camera can see part of her face. She lip-syncs to the song again, gesturing, and overall looking like she’s crashing out and yelling at Percy.
Song: They’re all like / “Did you change your hair?” / “Did you lose a little weight?” / “You should keep it up ‘cause it really looks great”
Piper draws quotes around the words, still lip-syncing and yelling at Percy.
Song: I hate that I always look my best / When I’m dying on the inside
Percy pulls Piper into a hug, and she deflates in his arms.
The video cuts to black. Credits start to play.
