Chapter Text
It had been about two months. Camp Half-Blood had fought Nero and won. Aside the dead, there was only one person Hyacinthus hadn’t seen since the battle.
Apollo.
Hyacinthus knew that his boyfriend had either become a god again and forgotten about Hya, or…
Hyacinthus didn’t know which thought hurt more. He’d spend all his time with Apollo’s kids, so he wouldn’t worry too much. The best part is how the three were starting to see Hya as their stepdad or something. Will had even called Hyacinthus ‘dad’ on accident once or twice.
And yet… no sign of Apollo.
In those two months, Hya had moved to Cabin Seven, so he could be near his friends/adopted kids.
One day, Hya woke up early. Even before the sun. He walked over to the lake and sat down, looking at the sky.
Hyacinthus thought some kind of light was beside him for a moment. And the light spoke.
“Seriously? Everyone has their tastes, but watching the view without a sunrise?”
When Hya looked to his side, he saw Apollo. He looked more like he did thousands of years ago, but his eyes were blue and the roots of his hair brown. Just like when he was Lester. Hya had to admit he thought he’d just say hi to Apollo… But instead he immediately hugged his boyfriend, clinging to him with all his strength.
“Where have you been?!”
“Honestly?”
Apollo blushed.
“I passed out… for…”
He blushed more.
“Two months…”
Hya placed his hand in Apollo’s cheek.
“No need to be ashamed. I love you, no matter how long you spend passed out.”
Comfortable silence.
“We’re back to square one, aren’t we? Me, a mortal. You, a god. You’ll eventually… lose me again.”
Apollo’s blue eyes shimmered with tears.
“I don’t wanna lose you again. And I beg you, please don’t say yes just because I asked you. Just say what you truly want, ok? Promise?”
“I don’t know why you’re making it so serious, but alright. I swear by the River Styx I’ll say what I truly want.”
Apollo hesitantly took his boyfriend’s hands, eyes focused on the scar in Hya’s forehead.
“I… I can make you immortal. I can make you a god. We could live forever. Both of us. But immortality… It’s… not good. Everyone you get attached to… they die. So… Will… Will you let me make you immortal?”
Hyacinthus looked at his boyfriend, how… how scared he was to ask that.
“Apollo, I… I don’t know what to say.”
“It’s okay. You don’t need to answer right now. Take your time.”
Hyacinthus placed a gentle kiss on Apollo’s lips.
“You know what? I accept. I know immortality is a curse, I know it’s hard… But I want you.”
Hya threw himself into his boyfriend’s arms, just as a golden light enveloped him. Hyacinthus locked his pure lilac eyes to Apollo’s blue ones.
“Forever?”
They kissed.
”Forever.”
