Summary
Before he was Buck from the 118, he was “Bullet” for Phantom Vanguard.
The youngest in an elite SEAL Team Six unit, Evan Buckley lived and bled for the people he called family—until the mission that killed their commander, shattered their bond, and broke him beyond repair.
Now in Los Angeles, he’s built something new. A firehouse. A team. A life. But when his past comes knocking, it’s not with guns or orders. It’s with Ava Whitmore, Phantom Vanguard’s old intel officer, and a simple message:
“They need you.”
Told through mission flashbacks, present-day reckonings, and the scars only war can leave behind, this is the story of what happens when ghosts don’t stay buried—and what it takes to bring a soldier home.
**********************
Did he come back? Of course.
Because Evan Buckley never stopped being a soldier. He just forgot how to be a brother.

Summary
During the blackout, the last thing Buck expects to happen, happens. His Navy Reserve Commander, for his team, anyway, shows up and sort of changes his course. He'd thought he was done. After nearly losing his leg, he was pretty confident they wouldn't want him on anything, mission wise.
It was just wishful thinking.
And now he had to break it to his found family that he had to leave. He hoped they would forgive him for never telling them that he had made it. That he was a SEAL.
