Summary
Loki is post-Avengers 2012, but instead of returning to Asgard with Thor, he elects to remain as a "guest" of SHIELD. A few days into his stay, Loki has unexpected company:
The figure tilted its head and regarded Loki with its sensors. "Is your pain physical or emotional?"
"Is... what?" Loki was taken aback.
This was not a question anyone had ever asked him... In fact Loki couldn't remember the last time anyone had acknowledged he was capable of feeling pain of any kind. For a moment the breath was quite taken from his chest. -

When Loki attempts to use the scepter on Tony during the invasion it and the arc reactor have an odd effect that has the genius pulled into the god's mind. There he finds just how broken the god really is.

People would say he has a gift, a second sight perhaps, though if they're saying it with awe or damnation is up in the air. If you asked Radar, he'd say he was just hyper-observant, and that it was overall a blessing because of the people he could help with it. After all, an OR prepped that much sooner will save more lives.
However, it's never allowed him to do this before, and this time what he sees goes beyond anything plain observation can reveal.

Or maybe it’s all of these things or none of these things, but somewhere along the line Murdock goes crazy and everything changes.
