Summary
Stiles has been hiding his whole life and does not plan to stop now. He is good at it, nobody have ever suspected that he is more than just a normal human and Stiles likes it that way, likes the anonymity it gives him. That's the plan anyways, just keep being an unsuspected human.
A pool, a grumpy werewolf and a murder lizard puts a kink in that plan.

His nerves felt like a live wire was running hot beneath his skin, hands fidgeting with the silken material of his robe. If he had the concentration to spare, he might had worried about tearing it.
It was all he could do to sit there at the vanity, eyes squeezed shut, and try to give in the constricting pressure around his chest that said that he was about to fall into a panic attack.
Breath in. Breath out. His own heartbeat rushed in his ears.Being mated to the reclusive king with a frightening reputation to his name, bundled away from his home and father, and then surrounded by underwhelmingly distant faces hiding secrets was not how Stiles Stilinski imagine spending his life soon after turning eighteen. He can only remind himself that it is for the good of his people, both old and newly acquired. But, perhaps first assumptions are made too hastily and a fated match can be made, even surrounded by threats of war, revenge and death’s waiting embrace.

Stiles was hurt much more from Gerard's beating and wrecking his jeep than he was letting on. But it's okay because he knows a bite will make it all better. Things are far more broken than he knows though and a bite can't fix everything.

Summary
The threat of a rival pack and the discovery of a previously forgotten Hale family legend has Derek playing reluctant partners with his uncle Peter. And that's not the only strange thing that Stiles has noticed about Derek lately. But even the unexpectedly pleasant changes to their relationship can't completely erase the feeling that there's something he's not being told... Something that may change his life irrevocably.
[The story begins directly after the end of season 2, but diverges from canon completely thereafter. Also, Boyd and Erica don't get taken and/or killed by the alpha pack - because who's terrible decision was that, I ask you?]
