Remember that these are no-fandom prompts, so the only time they should reference particular fandoms is if your challenge is an AU of that fandom. :)

What kind of prompts is the Obstacle Course looking for?

  • Prompts that are not fandom-specific! (You may suggest AUs including a particular fandom, though.)

  • Prompts intended as "challenges" or "writing exercises".

  • Prompts that are not meant to challenge writers would be better off at the Plot Bunny Hutch.

  • Prompts should be written in English. (Writers can write in any language they prefer.)

    Rules:

    For Writers:

  • There is no deadline.

  • There is no judging. (Though as collection holder, I'll do my best to read and comment on any completed fics that are for fandoms I'm familiar with. I hope you'll consider doing the same for at least one other fic.)

  • Writers are free to write original works or for any fandom.

  • Keep in mind that some prompt-givers may link to their favorite pairings/fandoms that they'd like to see used, but you are not required to do so.

  • Non-English fics are welcome.



  • For Prompts:

  • You may submit prompts even if you have no intentions of writing for a prompt.

  • Only blank prompts (nothing written), prompts that promote hate, prompts that are written for particular fandoms, or prompts that contain suspicious links will be deleted.

  • You should refer to characters by letters (ex: Character A, and their friends Characters B and C), by kind (ex: The Vampire, and their friends the Mothman and the Siren.), or by role (ex: The Skipper, and their friends the Professor and the Movie Star).

  • You may use the link feature to share a link to an off-site location to share your favorite pairings/fandoms; etc, but keep in mind that people using your prompts are not required to write for them.

  • It is not required you comment on fics that answer your prompt(s), but it is highly encouraged.
