Villanelle waits, absolutely certain there’s more to come. Reluctantly, Eve finishes.
“But that wouldn’t be the entire truth.”
Eve says no more. She can feel her heart beating faster. And there’s that brightness lighting up in Villanelle’s eyes again. Her tongue peeks out from between her lips, moistening them. Eve lets out a breath.
