Summary
Evangeline is a valkyrie, a member of the holy armies of the Aether... until she's framed for a crime she didn't commit and banished to the Overworld. Injured and alone, the last person she expects to help her is the former king of the Nether, Herobrine, who has not been seen in hundreds of years since his own banishment. There will be no rest for them, though, as Evangeline's enemies aren't keen on letting her get out alive.

Forty years after their separation, Herobrine and Evangeline are reunited when an old threat rears its ugly head. Their relationship remains strained as they are forced to work together, unable to pick up where they left off after the way Herobrine had ended things so many years before. Things are bigger than their struggling romance, however, and they must put their differences aside in order to protect the ones they love.

In the meantime, Evangeline and Herobrine are enjoying their retirement, despite the restlessness that comes from being forced into it early. While new relationships are forged in the Nether, things are not as peaceful as they seem in the Aether, especially when Evangeline begins to fall ill.
