Summary
"Lawrence." It called.
It dragged out the last syllable of his name. Lawrence recognized that voice. He should've known from the messy mop on the shadow's head. A relieved smile tightened into place.
"Is it really you?" Lawrence, eager to see him, reached over to the end table to turn on the light. He pinched the wheel of the lamp and slowly begun to rotate it.
"Don't turn on the light."

"Can't ignore me forever, Larry."
Lawrence slumped over and buried his face in his hands, "I can't do this tonight, Adam. Please."
Metal created friction against the floorboards. The mattress dipped with the weight of it. A ribcage pressed against his back and hands slipped to Lawrence's chest. A cigarette dangled from two skeletal fingers. Lawrence felt Adam's head rest against his.
"I wanted to apologize for scaring you last time." Adam spoke in a comforting tone.
"I thought I lost you. For good." Lawrence gave into Adam's tender touch. It felt warm yet so cold.
-Adam comes to visit Lawrence for the last time.
