Summary
Kiryu is a professional baseball player for the Kamurocho Dragons. Things have been stable and predictable under Kazama’s management, but with his announcement that he’s retiring, Kiryu needs to prepare himself for a shakeup to his beloved team. But nothing could possibly prepare him for management under Shimano and his star player, Majima “Mad Dog” Goro.

Kiryu watched suspiciously as Majima reached into his pocket, worried he’d pull a weapon, but no, he was just reaching for his cigarettes. Managing to light it one handed, keeping his fingers twisted painfully in Kiryu’s hair, Majima pulled in a deep lungful of smoke before blowing it in Kiryu’s face.
It should have made him angry, an obvious insult, but it unexpectedly stirred something deep within him. He kept his face carefully placid, unwilling to give the Mad Dog any further edge than he already had.
But something gave him away. Perhaps it was the fact that his face wasn’t as subtle as he thought, or perhaps it was the fact that Majima’s hand had loosened in his locks yet he still stayed obediently on his knees, his legs shifting further open to allow for a growing situation in his slacks.

Summary

Despite (or maybe in spite of) the toils of the previous year (murder charges, sports betting, magazine spreads, baseball podcasts), they have chosen to adopt orphan Haruka. How will these two manage adopting and raising a child along with their professional sports career and open relationship?

“Okay, fine. The thought of a kid in our place fuckin’ scares me. Before I met ya, I was driftin’ from place to place, too chicken shit ta even put my name on a lease. I can’t even commit to sayin’ I’m in a monogamous relationship with ya, neither. And now, what? I’m supposed to take responsibility of an entire other human bein’? I couldn’t even find the toothpaste this morning.”
“But?” Kiryu prompted.
“But I know it’ll make ya happy…and makin’ you happy makes me happy. So.”
“So?” Kiryu prompted again
“So fuck it, we ball.”
