Summary
With a grin on her face Odalia marched through the marketplace. Her contact informed her that a very very interesting specimen had just been caught, a specimen that allegedly fulfilled all her specifications.
In minutes, Odalia was standing in front of the girl, certain she found what she was looking for. The girl was now being secured in her cage, currently unconscious. She turned to the girl's current owner, "No need to tie her to the cage, I will buy her immediately."
The large man scoffed, "Letting this one go without an auction? I would have to be ma-" " One million snails." The man froze, his eyes nearly flying out of their sockets, shakily he reached out to shake her hand to seal the deal, making the smile on her face even broader.

Summary
Amity hated the world she lived in. No..she didn't only hate it, she downright loathed it; a world filled to the brim with cruelty and slavery should not be allowed to exist. Yet it did, and it was her world. She was one of its so-called 'masters', a benefactor of the vile system, one of the few privileged ones. Why couldn't the world be a beautiful place, akin to what her novels described?
A dim purple light coming from her amulet ripped Amity from her somber mood as her mother's voice filled her head, "Mittens..come downstairs, I have an early birthday gift for you."
Amity swallowed the many curses that threatened to crawl out of her mouth, "I will be right there Mother." She got up, and headed towards the main entryway, trying to squash the unease growing in her chest.
