Description:

Missing Numbers is a horror/tragedy centric Pokemon AU, with several elements based on or derivative of Pokepastas (including but not limited to Glitchy Red, Blue Tears, Snow on Mount Silver, Abandon Lonliness, and Fallen Leaf).
The main place to view content of this is the official Tumblr Blog that I'm running with three other mods, where we pretty consistently post art, puzzles with ARG elements, and an interactive ask-based exploration storyline centered around the modern day of this AU. If our writing or this concept interests you, please check it out! We've got a lot of plans we're excited to share.

Notes:

Works in this series are not posted in any particular order. These are just various writings about the characters in this AU that are supplemental to the blog! The characters featured here will almost exclusively be the ones that I (mod Starry) am writing for on the blog; primarily, my main Kanto group: "Fire" Red Yuuji, Leaf Aoyama, Blue Gary Oak, and "Glitchy" Red Tajiri.

please don't expect traditional takes on any of these characters, in both the mainline Pokemon sense, or the Pokepasta sense. these four are derivative based on my interpretations of the games and creepypastas, which don't tend to line up with more widespread characterizations. these writings also tend to come from a very personal place when it comes to subjects mentioned below.

To cover any potential broader content warnings and subjects:

- The horror elements are largely a portrayal of digital/meta horror as viewed by video game characters from in-universe, thus leaning HEAVILY on elements of cosmic horror, as well as psychological horror in turn. Depictions of body horror will also be a prevalent thing.
Glitches are unknowable, painful, gruesome. Reboots bury dead parts of reality alive. The realization of how little control you truly have hangs heavy to those who see things they shouldn't. The perception of this reality is a fragile thing.

The tragedy elements focus on subjects such as Loss and Grief, the loss of one's identity, the feeling of powerlessness and solitude, catastrophic misunderstandings, loss of friendships and relationships, and just. Generally watching your world and life fall apart.

Finally, a core element of Missing Numbers is us exploring how childhood trauma affects adults, portrayed through the lens of cosmic horror. Things will get heavy. Relationships will be messy. People will die (and usually get better, but never the same). i fucking love body horror and murder as metaphors!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a final general warning, these writings may include subjects of mental illness and internalized ableism, dissociation, self harm, suicidal thoughts, and themes of abuse (particularly child abuse).

All of these and additional warnings will be tagged to the best of my ability!
