Summary
“You will answer to your serial number or the callsign given to you. You are weapons, nothing more and nothing less. However,” she pauses, “you are not alone. Our operatives are never alone.” She grins.
“Each of you will be paired with another, more experienced operative,” Kalina continues. “You will be inseparable. You will eat together, live together.”
Her voice echoes, suddenly, within the confines of Adaine’s inner ear. She doesn’t need to look around to know that every other graduate in line with her is hearing the same thing.
You will kill together.
“Every firearm needs a trigger,” Kalina says. Her eyes lock with Adaine’s. “You are those triggers. It’s time you met your other halves.”
