The carefully constructed walls are collapsing, fracturing in a spiderweb of fragile steel. Cold winds help it along, ice spreading over the sharp metal edges. He is breaking; at the sound of her voice, at the look in her eyes. She is breaking him, and despite the agony, he knows he will welcome it before the end.
