Summary
Believing himself to still be banished after the Battle of the Five Armies, Bilbo does his best to help out in the aftermath despite having been injured himself in defense of Thorin at Ravenhill. While his guilt and loyalty leave him in a taxing game of hide and seek at the foot of Erebor, never going in but never leaving, he develops a relationship of mutual respect and almost friendship with the Dwarrowdam he assists in minding the children of Laketown and the few Dwarflings that accompanied her from the Blue Mountains, a relationship that leaves him with hope for something beyond death, but not the resources to achieve anything but.

Summary
Bilbo is really quite done with all these dwarves being concerned about him. He really needs a better word for it too.
Or: where Bilbo can have quite scintillating conversations with his prize-winning tomatoes. And Erebor.Series

Summary
It's not a meme I promise! So, this fic is thanks to aquilea-of-the-lonely-mountain on tumblr and is part of the Bagginshield Summer Surprise writing/art prompts that were given out. This was mine: "I think fireflies never looked more beautiful." Thorin's POV
Thorin always thought that home was a place- the kingdom of his childhood- but when Bilbo's made himself and the rest of the company into one large family right under his nose, he's forced to reconsider just what that means to him, and just why Bilbo seems to be the answer to a question Thorin didn't even know he was asking.

Summary
Shameless canon-fuckery. That’s it.
The Valar- known also as the Ainur- once lived alone in the world, a race of beings of great power and knowledge who took many forms and devoted themselves to the exploration of both world and self. By these things they came by the knowledge of soul craft- those who were able to see the souls of others had the capacity to recreate and alter them, but not truly make new ones. Taught by their elder, Manwë studied with his brother in this craft until Melkor turned from the light in a jealous rage that tainted the song of the world and nearly annihilated their own race, leaving but 15 whose souls remained intact.
In order to save their kin, Eru had no choice but to take what remained of their souls and rend them in mortal flesh- Hobbits, as they are commonly known. With little power left to them, the Diminished Ainur (Hobbits) were secreted away and forgotten for their own safety to wait until the remaking of the world to restore their souls and forms. Bilbo Baggins, however, is really rather impatient. This is me trying to cure my writer's block everybody!
