Summary
Bucky Barnes has been in a funk ever since the bomb blast that took his arm in Afghanistan. His home is an uninspiring mess, he's directionless and barely able to hold things together. Even the constant love and support of his adopted siblings, Natasha and Clint, isn't quite enough to pull him through.
But he knows that things will get better when he finally meets his soulmate and hears the words that have given him hope since he was eighteen. Until he finally does meet them in the most unexpected way, and everything just gets worse.
But as Sam, Natasha's soulmate says, you can't fix Destiny. So Bucky's going to have to fix everything else...

Summary

Summary
Steve knows he's ugly, and his ugliness is the main reason why no one has ever wanted to date him, let alone touch his Hand-Print to see if they're soulmates.
And he's fine with that, at least on the outside, until he gets involved with his best friend Peggy Carter's final photography project, where he has to pose both naked and with the hotter-than-hell Bucky Barnes.
Bucky has a body like a Greek Statue, and an amputated left arm that is adorned with a Hand-Print, which Steve most definitely does not want to touch. Especially as Bucky's a judgmental asshole and their first encounter leaves Steve seething.
But his anger at Bucky also inspires Steve to paint, which is both wonderful and terrible. Wonderful because Steve also has a final project due, and terrible because, in order to continue to be inspired, he'll have to see the infuriating Bucky Barnes and his compelling Hand-Print again...

Summary
Just like his mother, Bucky used to be able to read soulstrings: The coloured threads the Universe puts on the left wrist to help soulmates find each other. Until the Sokovian Uprising happened and he lost his Talent along with his arm. He's been broken, both inside and out, ever since.
But those weren't the only things lost in Sokovia. His aunt, Magda, also died in The Uprising, leaving his twin cousins, Wanda and Pietro, orphans and him their guardian. They never talk about how Magda died, or that her death was Bucky's fault.
Bucky is just living day-to-day, running his family's bookstore and caring for the twins as best he can, trying to hide how broken he is from his cousins and the world. Until Steve Rogers comes into his life, beautiful and sad and asking for a soulstring reading Bucky can't give. Bucky agrees even though he shouldn't, and very quickly he and Steve develop feelings for each other. But Bucky knows their relationship is doomed before it starts, because it's only a matter of time before Steve learns the truth: he has no Talent, he's utterly broken, and worse of all -- what really happened that night in Sokovia...

In a world where Alphas are dominant and Omegas are coveted, Betas are truly the third sex. Steve Rogers' soulmarks are probably worse.
With soulmarks this bad, you might guess their relationship would be off to a rocky start.
If you also guessed they'd have to survive: a fire, a stabbing, a concussion, public intoxication, vomiting and stitch removal before their happy ending, you'd be right.

Bucky has been in a relationship rut ever since his girlfriend Natasha found her soulmate and moved out. He despairs of ever finding the person who has the same soulmark. Even when he starts falling for Steve, he keeps it a secret. He's sure that Steve couldn't be his soulmate.
The Universe knows both of them are wrong.
