He waited for L to answer, although he knew he wouldn’t. L’s head had grown slack beneath his grip, and Light knew he wouldn’t be conscious for much longer. He leaned in, so close that his breath, hot and wet from exertion, brushed across L’s ear, and whispered, “I want your fear.”
