Summary
(Inspired and based off the French poem collection Les Chansons de Roses by Lauridson)
Veritas Ratio, a man of honesty and truth, finds himself having to harbor a secret. As much as he loathes straying from the truth, this is a matter of his own life or his own death.
And perhaps, a matter of a certain gambler's life or death as well.
{In which Veritas Ratio grows ill with Hanahaki Disease and makes a promise to himself he tries his best to keep.}

(Written before 2.2 Then Wake to Weep)
4 months have passed since the Penacony debacle, and Aventurine has yet to awake from "Death", but Dr. Ratio stays by his side all that time, monitoring his condition closely.
Aventurine wakes up to find that he's fired, an enemy of Penacony, and basically left for dead. That is, until Veritas Ratio is kind enough to take him in and help him get back onto his feet (literally), and help him tough through whatever inner challenges he has left to face.
