Summary
This is more or less a retelling of RE: Requiem from a certain point, with emphasis of Grace's POV. Plenty of whump and comfort ahead.
What started out as a challenge for myself - to see if I could still write since the book I started more than ten years ago is on hiatus for almost two years - turned into a long-winded love letter to one of the best video game characters and protagonists of all time.
Turns out delving into well written characters you didn't create yourself and trying to do them justice may rekindle your creativity, who would have thought!Will rework and add tags as needed. Please note that I feel uncomfortable with writing romantic relationships that aren't confirmed by lore. So any relationships will be platonic, for now atleast - or until Capcom decide to spill the beans.

Summary
It starts out innocently enough, a suggestion by Dempsey to spark cooperation between agencies—a pen pal system. Grace Ashcroft is assigned to Leon S. Kennedy, DSO Agent, as the DSO has reluctantly agreed to inter-communication in order to see their needs done.
And yet, Grace finds herself taking comfort in writing to Leon, and Leon finds moments of joy in reading Grace's letters—until they've stopped after she mentioned she was going into the field for the first time, and just missing meeting each other in person at the FBI headquarters.
Until Leon learns of Raccoon City Syndrome, and Wrenwood Hotel. And finds his young pen pal is the one being taken by Victor Gideon.
Or: The one where Author hits speedrun on the found family between Leon Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft, and what if they knew each other before RE9?

Or: Leon and Grace navigate what comes after the events of Requiem. Grace tries to cope and move forward, Leon processes some old hurts and tries to make it better for her, and Chris takes his husband to bed.
