Summary

The Ned and Peter in this is beautiful though. Ned is steady in the best ways, unfaltering in his loyalty to Peter, and Peter is just as loyal back (I love how the reader knew Peter was down bad for his bestie before Peter did and that Ned was just as oblivious). The way Ned breaks into the tower to see Pete is 10/10. Ned’s Lola and mom’s relationship with Pete the first time we see them too is cute af and seeing how Ned’s mom reacts to finding about Skip the first time around is exactly the kind of support kids need in their lives from every avenue. Honestly might want to reread just those bits.
I also loved the therapy scenes b/c they were real and gritty and you could definitely see Pete’s progress.
Happy begrudgingly picking Pete and Ned up early from prom might be my favorite Happy scene ever lmao: “‘I punched a guy for being homophobic,’ Ned blurts, chest puffed with pride…Happy blinks. ‘You did?’
…Ned nods vigorously and clambers over the partition to show off his knuckles, already red and scraped. ‘Look!’…Happy grunts, leaning in to examine them. ‘Well… you should’ve done it in September…’”FUCK Fury and Wanda was forgiven too easily. I literally wanted to deck both of them repeatedly. I think this is like the second most visceral reaction I’ve had to both these characters out of any fic I’ve read so far.
If thinking of rereading, remember: The non-con, SA, and abuse scenes are about as implied as the SA scene in 13 Reasons before they were forced to edit it. The suicide attempt is also graphically described (the lead up from Peter’s POV and the actual act from Tony’s). Should have been marked Dead Dove. Literally made you sick at points and you had to take break b/c flashbacks that don’t happen when you read implied.

Summary

Also, I loved how much of a little shit Bucky is.
