After the war Katniss and Peeta slowly grow back together, despite being so broken. The story begins during the final chapter of 'Mockingjay', before the epilogue, and chapters get longer and more detailed as Katniss slowly heals.

The first year back in Twelve, an extension of the last chapter of Mockingjay. Picks up from "Peeta, bearing a warm loaf of bread, shows up with Greasy Sae. She makes us breakfast and I feed all my bacon to Buttercup." A year of Katniss and Peeta making do, breaking down, and "growing back together." Working on the book. Baking. Hunting. "Real." Sitting around the fire with Haymitch. A birthday, a toasting. "Strange bits of happiness."
Chapter 1: Spring into summer, rebuilding Twelve, "coming back to life," up until "real."
Chapter 2: Fall into winter, "Peeta and I discuss all the things we never dared to in the last two years." A toasting.
Chapter 3: A post-toasting trip to a frozen lake.

Summary
Does this qualify as a walk of shame? My first? And I don't even have anything to show for it... Just a 27-year-old virgin running away after throwing herself at her unwitting best friend and ruining the most important relationship in her life after Prim.
Best friends since childhood, Katniss and Peeta process deep feelings for each other while healing from old traumas.
