Summary
It is his sister’s wedding breakfast when Colin overhears the woman he has been courting talking to Lady Featherington – and before he knew it, he is engaged. To Penelope. Penelope, who is decidedly not the woman he has been courting.
By God, he has not so much as gifted her a single bouquet of flowers, which one surely ought to have done before speaking ones vows. Guilt was eating at him. He feared an entire florist shop would not make up for his actions.- Language:

Summary
After turning thirty, Penelope decides she's done waiting for the perfect man and wants to be a mother. With the help of an esteemed fertility clinic, she selects a sperm donor and gets pregnant on her own. Scared to deal with the judgement of others, she lies and says that her ex boyfriend who moved away is the father.
Though she and Colin have drifted in recent months, when he finds out her news, he vows to support her and show up for her and her baby. Her feelings for him muddy the waters, and she does her best to keep him at arms length during such an emotional time.
--
It all started with a brochure.
When Philippa struggled to get pregnant with her second, she and Albion looked into every option they could think of. At another painful Featherington family tea, Portia rattled off a list of old wives tales of sex positions they could try, earning groans and gags from all four of her daughters. Penelope glanced at the table, where the brochure lay forgotten, the words “Mayfair Fertility Clinic and Sperm Bank” sprawled in elegant typeface across the front, as though it were a fine dining menu and not an institution where men jerked off into cups.

Summary
Alfred looks over to see another one of those loose-cravat Englishmen standing by the statue – really, bending over to look at it upside down is a better descriptor. His brown hair is decidedly too long, flopping messily over as he straightens back up slightly, his eyes still fixed on the statue.
“Cupid and Psyche,” the man (really, Jesus, he is so young; boy is a better word for him) says, and he looks over to Alfred, eyebrows raised. “Incredible, isn’t it?”

Summary
A warmth spread through her, consuming her, until even the air seemed too thick to draw into her lungs. She pressed her palms against her knees, as though to steady herself, yet her mind would not be stilled. She saw again that brief flash of his smile, the one that had undone her entirely, and her breath trembled.
What foolishness this was. What wicked foolishness. And yet… she could not summon the shame she knew she ought to feel. Her sisters often spoke of temptation as something that hunted the innocent, but Penelope could not help but feel, in that moment, that it was she who hunted it.
OR
Deemed hopeless on the marriage market and quietly sent away to a convent, Penelope spends five quiet years trying to tame her heart before taking her vows. But when a young farmer begins assisting Sister Agatha, his gentle presence awakens feelings she ought never to harbour. Try as she might, Penelope cannot banish these wicked longings, nor the dangerous hope that her life beyond the convent walls might yet be her own.
