Louis inched closer, without touching him. He waited for Lestat to look up. “Remember,” Louis’ hand slid into place. His other hand automatically pushed Lestat’s hair off his forehead. “Not scared-ness.”

“What the fuck are you doing here?” He barked, stepping closer and brushing Louis’s arm harshly. He seemed not to believe his own eyes.

With no support, his brother gone, lonely and afraid, Louis decided to end his own life as well. The attempt failed, and he lost his mind. With his heart and mind shattered, furious at the whole world and hating himself, Louis resolved to live exactly as he pleased — even if it meant doing terrible things. He had nothing left to lose. He wanted to challenge the world and finally take what he wanted.
