Summary
Harry had been planning to spend the summer after fifth year with Sirius. He'd completed his animagus transformation just for this purpose. But now Sirius is dead and Dumbledore has Harry more isolated than ever. In a desperate bid to survive the summer, Harry goes through with their plan...with some modifications. He can't go to the vacation home Sirius planned to take them to, but he can spend the summer safely tucked away in the wilderness as a snake.
But when Voldemort himself finds Harry while on a stroll, Harry's whole life will change. Harry's never had someone tend to his wounds or ensure he has a warm, safe place to sleep. But this is Voldemort, surely, if Harry wasn't a random snake, he'd be dead in an instant. Voldemort isn't stupid. He knows something is different about this little snakelet he's found. Harry yawned, tired and distracted, before looking through the peephole.
His instincts jolted awake, on full blast.
His stomach dropped. Tiredness escaped him, so abruptly and completely that he could easily forget it was ever there at all. Unease swirled in his gut. His heart thumped harder, matching the firm metronome of knocking.
What was most weird though, was that he had no idea what provoked the reaction. The man at his door didn’t look abnormal – in fact, he was rather handsome. He had silky, jet-black hair, swept into a perfect curl at the front, and pale skin that mimicked perfect porcelain.
He looked like the charismatic type, the type who would’ve never been rejected in their life. The type who could achieve a lot – high status, money - just through his charm.
So why did Harry’s body react as if he were watching a newborn baby get torn in half?
His knocking abruptly stopped, and his smile – sickeningly sweet – curled slightly higher. When he spoke, his voice was soft. Too soft. “You alone?”
